I remember how huge Powell Peralta was in the 80s. But lookin' back, it was so commercial and lame. Those annoying fucking skits in their videos that were supposed to be funny but were anything but. When H-Street and Blind came out skaters started realizing how goofy PP was. Good for most of the bones brigade guys getting the hell out and starting their own great companies (Firm, Real, Birdhouse).
how big of a douche did stacy peralta have to be to not even find out how to spell their damn names before he tried to put them in a video and latch onto "this new street skating craze"....maybe thats why powell peralta started going downhill less than a year after this video came out and is still continuing to go downhill more every day and its 20 years later....this part was the shit when it came out though , thanks alot!
Amen to that!!! Stacy screwed up big time. Dude, he had a friggin stable of up and coming street talent that he wasted time on by keeping them all at amateur status for way too long. Jovantae, Agah, Chet Thomas, Mariano, Diaz, Rudy J, Gabe Rodriguez, and Frank Hirata too name a few. I think Stacy was still trying to run the biz with the old Zephyr Dog Town days mentality.
@bbbokkk I believe the biggest douche ends up being the same person that wrote this comment...
It's not his fault that he had to manage so many raucous skateboards and still found to his senses that things were not working enough with his partner, George Powell. Needless to say that the Powell Peralta team is back. Perhaps not like before... but still good to be back.
doe anyone know the name of the track that Jovanti and Solomon were sk8ing too...???
