@ATOMICoWAFFLEo well to be honest I spend most of my gaming time on Layton now, until I finish it. I have only played about 2 hours of 999. The story seems interesting (but it reminds me a little bit of SAW). I love the story of the Unwound Future and I haven't played 999 that much so I can't tell you. They are both awesome games (although Layton is more of a game, while 999 is more of story reading)

You nailed it. I wish there were more games like this. I started playing this game really late in the evening. And went to sleep at 2:30 am. I was that caught up in it that I could barely sleep. Which sounds ridiculous, but trust me. I think you'll get the same experience. I still have 2 endings to figure out OTL.

This review sold me on this game and I have to say, I don't regret a single penny spent. If there is one game you get for the DS, make it this one, it's just that good.

No other narrative has left me as drained and satisfied as this one. A must buy for anyone who appreciates a good story.

i found this game in my local gamestop and love it - i really like the visual novels - its like a interactive book - sure you can read a murder/mystery where the character finds clues to solve it but here YOU are finding the clues --- if that makes any sense.

2- The game in itself is a huge mindfuck. Specially after the final puzzle.

I'd say that's pretty much a time paradox, June is there but she died 9 years ago, hoever the whole point of the nonary game was to rescue her. I'd say that there are three three akane's, Kanny would be the past one,June the present one and Akane would be Zero, which would be her spirit given physical form.

Akysis also brought Mimana Iyar Chroniclics. not the worst but kinda dumb use of jrpging for the psp. and Chun is famous for Dungeon Crawlers like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.

all in all this would give them more money for games but unless this turns into a sleeper hit it just means they actually think we want more crappy RPGs

About how long is a typical single playthrough? Trace Memory and Phoenix Wright were both pretty short.

@HatoburekaSutajio Well a single playthrough is about 3-5 hours if you play it straight without stopping, all others after are less hours if you choose to fast forward through the story parts you saw on your previous one, all in all it's around 9 hours more or less if a single playthrough is considering playing multiple times to get all the endings

Sweet review. I finally found a copy (after travelling 40 miles to a Gamestop that actually HAD it) and the hunt was well worth it. I lost so much sleep. It's hard to stop when you want to know what happens next so badly!
