wow,....it hurts to see how brutal everyone is with that little baby. has anyone thought for a second how traumatizing it is for that newborn to be handled/rubbed to roughly by everyone? Have that thing shoved down his throat? Hospital births are simply sad to watch. No consideration for the baby whatsoever. The baby should have been given to his mum straight away to be reassured, it was already traumatizing enough to take birth into this whole new world...

@SuratiDasi u do know they have to rub the baby like that to make it breathe... and the reason He/she stoped crying was beacause he/she had gunk stuck in its throat... thats why the nurse put the suction thing down his/her throat.. when i had my baby he wasnt breathing and if it wasnt for nurses rubbing him roughly and sucktioning out the gunk from his throat he wudnt have breathed at all !!! its not brutal, they are doing it for the sake of the baby !

@SuratiDasi That doesn't make sense. The baby NEEDS the thing in it's mouth to get the blood and liquid out or else it could choke. The baby has NO idea what's going on, and will definitely not remember it. The baby just came out of a hole that was 10 cm small...it's been through some tight spots too (pardon the pun). I'm very happy that we have Doctors that know to get the liquid out of the baby's mouth so they won't choke. Plus, they have to check the baby's weight and give it shots and stuff.

I had NO feeling from my boobs all the way down.So yes I was paralised.

I had the epidural in for 4 days and couldn't move as I couldn't feel anything.

BUT not everyone's epidurals or blocks are like this.Some women still feel what's going on but no real pain.

@sandrakay1983 trust me, if you have a vaginal birth without drugs you won't care! I think when I hit about 36 weeks, my fear turned into "I don't care how you do it, but get him out" haha, you will do fine, and I only had 1 nurse, and the doctor, you can tell everyone to leave except the dr of course. Was in labor for 4 days!! No epidurals when I delivered my babies!! They were posterior as well therefore all back pain!!!!!!Extremely painful. Had to go under general anaesthetic with the first one and mid forceps. Too tired to deliver. Second baby posterior as well but turned just in time to deliver her. Painful but easily forgotten!! Well worth the pain. 2 beautiful children!! Adults now!
