  • Dropped my galaxy S about 150 times. on cement and hard tile. i know it eventually may break; but it has taken more damage than any smartphone should and works great!

  • @biscuits2010 love u G. Glass

  • That intro made busted my ears.......

  • what kind of accent is that? lol

  • @aaronlin52 Gorilla Accent

  • my moto photon's screen is scratched as hell.

  • Nice keep up with the new improvements now I won't have to worry about my future TVs breaking :)

  • next generation will just be a gorilla which punches anyone trying to drop your phone

  • @majidsyed2 Why the FUCK would you come here to post a comment on what you like to shove up your ass? Seriously. WTF? This video has NOTHING to do with that shit!

  • I've dropped my Samsung Galaxy on concrete & bitumen, sumtimes glass down & 1nce off the top of a ladder & i don't have 1 scratch! this shit'z amazing.

    ANDROID FTW :)))

  • the biggest news of CES: Intel is having a go at cell phones.

what everybody seems to care about: Gorilla glass (OMG GORILLA GLASS)

    you people...

  • i'm getting sick of the lever press

  • Wow...I was thinking when I watched the video...If you drop 120 pounds on a hpone with gorilla glas 2...the glass won't break but wont it crush the phone?

  • this is a gay add and if you cant tell that you need to put youre gorilla glasses on

  • I want to see devices with this glass being dropped to the ground that's how the test should be. My thing is this if you take an egg and place it in between both yours hand with each end of the egg against the palms of your hands and squeeze the egg will not break no matter how much force you apply it will not break. But if you drop the egg well...

  • we have incorporated gorilla glass 2, so you can also use the iphone as a hammer!

  • @Xndingo11 Apple doesn't use Gorilla Glass, they made there own cheap knock off which doesn't work.

  • @Xndingo11 lmao you snapped bro :P

  • i want this now?

  • If the company stands by their gorilla glass 2 then they should provide free 5 year warranty on broken glass due to drops?

  • The point is u dumb fucks its stronger than the average glass used on phones the break so easily if your phone drops with gorilla glass it should be fine as opposed to other types of glass

  • @blackkid49 how is that a "twss"?

  • yeah this is for weight not a sudden fall , thats different its like puushing a bullet inside someone , with your hands comapred to it blazing in you from a gun see the difference ?

  • He gets funded to go to CES 2012 but not E3 2011?

  • Isn't the press top stop set so it can't go further anyway

  • I've dropped my Galaxy S a few times.. And it's G. GLASS has lasted just fine. No scratches. Now.. The phones casing on the other hand..

  • In a purse for a few years?

  • Will it blend? That's the question.

  • but will it blend or break the blender !

  • get your mum to sit on it.

  • @froggerabc LOL

  • That is a ridicules test! Not only is it clearly rigged by that first glass being the only already damaged, but in addition that is not how the glass on phones are broken. It’s not broken by steadily increasing force from the center. It’s broken by sudden trauma from the sides (aka a drop). Mr. Gorilla Glass... when you do a proper test I might start viewing your product as proper.

  • @jesperc20 Hey...durr...it's not necessarily a stupid test because it simply displays overall durability. If it can withstand over 120 pounds, that's pretty fucking impressive.

  • @shalashaska994 I don't give a shit how much pressure it can withstand in this type of controlled (read rigged) test. What matters is real world performance. I'll take a simple drop test please.. this is bullshit. Unless you plan to stand on your phone a lot.. or smack on the screen with a hammer. I'm not saying that gorilla glass isn't good.. I'm just saying that this video does not prove it. It's a gimmick.

  • @jesperc20 You're missing the point, retard. You think that the screen that can take 100 odd pounds of pressure, yet won't withstand a fall. It is simply a test of durability, and durability with a phone screen is everything.

  • @shalashaska994 Lol..you're the retard if you really think that steady pressure from the center is in any way comparable to sudden impact from the sides. Okay.. I'll explain it again for the dummies. Have you ever tried smashing a piece of glass from the center?? It's nearly impossible. But if you drop it on the end.. it'll break easily. In addition.. the construction of the phone is alpha and omega. That's why this artificial test is useless. I feel sad for you that you just ate it up.

  • @jesperc20 So what you're saying is, since it's not a proper test, you'd take a phone with standard glass over one with gorilla glass and it wouldn't make any difference to you in your decision?

  • @SleepingPeace No.. what I'm saying is that this test does not persuade me either way.

  • Nice Coverage!!! Subbed

  • IMPRESSED

  • nice I like this

  • the glass needs to be machoman alduin tested.

  • Is it bulletproof?

  • @mondeost2202008 I don't think the Gorilla glass is bullet proof because i would assume that it would be pretty expensive then

  • dragontrail glass much better...

  • dragontrail glass much better...

  • I wish I had that glass on my knee.....but I took an arrow to the knee

  • @xxluca33 That was so not funny. Also, makes no sense at all.

  • dragontrail.

  • gorilla sucks look at dragon glass

  • if only they made non-smudgeable scratch resistant screens =-[

  • Samsung refuse to sell gorilla glass to Apple !

  • I used to be able to break glass..... Then I took an arrow to the knee

  • pretty cool but would be even cooler if he had slammed the press into it to simulate a drop instead of you just pushing way to hard on the screen.

  • my atrix 4g screen cracked when less then 5 pound of pressure :/

  • But will it blend?

  • @m1dnightw0lf I googled does apple use gorilla glass and people said no. Also I'm using my iPod right now to type this message and I have 3 scratches on it already, caused by coins. People also did tests and found out apple screens use different compounds than gorilla glass. Although, I do admit the screen on my iPod is very good. I had it for two years without ever using a case and/or screen protector. But then again, I do take really good care with it.

  • @MrSmellyFarts1 Devices go with gorilla glass. It's not an extra feature you have to pay for. Most high-end non apple phones have gorilla glass. Especially HTC, Samsung, Nokia, LG and Motorola devices and Andriod tablets. Google "list of devices with gorilla glass Wikipedia" for the full list

  • get your f***king hand off!!! D:<

  • This isn't Gorilla glass, it's KING KONG Glass.

  • this may be foundation for future bullet resistance glass.

  • ....but will it blend? That is the question!

  • @porkchopwes1 that's whay she said!

  • @porkchopwes1 Shut yo god damn ass up

  • Is colored Gorilla Gorilla available?

  • its annoying how you hand is blocking the view. learn to film

  • @ondergang The guy is holding up a mic so we can hear what the salesperson is talking about

  • iPhone should offer this, in place of their engraving service.

  • will it blend?

  • Yeah right i'll believe it when i get a phone in my hand with that glass. till then my opinion is i think yeah right.

  • @charlieecv The Nokia N8 among other phones has Gorilla Glass 1 on it. I've used it as a hammer and it's not broken it... And before anyone says anything, the phone is blacklisted (from an insurance claim) so I don't care about breaking it, but even I couldn't break it.

  • これはすごい

(Posted by Youtube Stream for iPhone (yst.me) on behalf of crowz at twitter)

  • at 2:40 there's a music about "People Who Died" being played in a Ford Motors Inc Ad?????????????????

  • @Bid2Chance hahaha nice

  • This test is kinda useless, not many users have 120 pounds of weight pressed onto one spot on their phone... Would be better to improve scratch and crack resistance.

  • @korn74 So it doesn't smash.....

  • @aboriad15 Well shit sarge. What can we do about that? Maybe get a screen cover?????

  • @MJMproductions8821 No, I'd recommend getting a good case. And be very careful, one drop on a hard surface will break is easily.

  • thats pretty freking impressive

  • Does my iPod touch use gorilla glass i need to know i notice it breaks when hiting the ground in tests on yt should i be worried juss got it 4 christmas

  • @MJMproductions8821 no it doesnt

  • @1lann The first iPhone is known for having Gorilla Glass. Certain teardowns show that they continue to use it in their latest iPhones.

  • That's... pretty cool! As Miley Cyrus would say.

  • Comment removed

  • All iphone 4s come with gorilla glass

  • @sockjockid correction: No apple devices use gorilla glass

  • @1lann you sound like you know about this so i want to know if you can help do phones come with gorila glass or do you have to buy it?

  • @1lann A quick search on the internet yields...“Then a few years ago, someone showed a piece of it to Steve Jobs. The guy dropped a piece of the glass into a bag full of keys and shook it hard; it came out without a scratch on it! Jobs immediately seized on the idea of using it for his iPhone. Today, Apple buys practically all the Gorilla Glass that Corning can make. Apple is the world’s No. 1 consumer of it.”

  • @1lann All the more money they can make from selling replacements.

  • @1lann Correction: iPhone iterations prior to the iPhone 4 used Corning Gorilla Glass.

  • @1lann

    hi

what type of glass does Apple use?

i think apple once used gorilla glass because according to the autobiography by steve jobs they had meetings with the founder of gorilla glass and they used it for some early apple products.

  • @hyylo Have you noticed Apple products shatter at the slightest drop? They use regular low quality glass.

  • @hoboX10

i would not say they use low quality glass.

  • @hyylo They do. It's regular glass.

  • @hyylo From what I've read of product reviews and seen in the Apple video on making the iPhone 4 they use there (some other company's glass) cheap knock off of Gorilla Glass. Which is why the iPhone 4 and 4S smash when you drop it and a flagship Android device such as Galaxy S2 is left looking as good as the day you first got it.

  • why did he pressed a button on the machine for the gorrila glass 2 and for the rest he didn't at 01:47

  • @gdud102 How would you know for the rest he didn't? If you noticed, the video cuts off at the end of every test except for the gorilla glass 1 test.

  • @gdud102 He is just clearing the peak load recorded from the previous reading. You can tell they edited that part out of the rest of the samples to shorten the video.

  • @gdud102 notice the transitions and the press already being reset to 0 for the rest of them

  • I never drop my phone in the ground.

I have a $1 dongle hanging on the bottom of the phone though which has saved it from falling a couple of times. my hand grabs onto it if the phone slips. It's koopa troopa from Super Mario.

  • What glass does the iPhone use? Its not gorilla glass?

  • @HeWhoDarez

Lmao, no way Iphones/Ipads have gorilla glass.

It's some normal glass that breaks when you drop it from waist height. It has been proven in many drop tests videos in YouTube.

  • What glass does the iPhone use? Its not gorilla glass?

  • @HeWhoDarez scratch resistant glass

  • too bad the galaxy nexus doesn't use this ... or even gorilla glass 1 at that

  • @nory826 Yeah but it has been proven to still not scratch from car keys

  • apple needs this

  • I can break this glass! You can't break that glass.

  • I have gorilla glass and my phone got a couple scratches on it. Hasn't broke though.

  • Impressive

  • "so this is like the modern version of a strongman competition?". "THAT'S right 120 pounds, can't break the glass". "What?"

  • Gorilla Glass 2 is indestructible, only Chuck Norris is able to break it!

  • @tryckluft Gorilla Glass 2 breaks itself at the site of Chuck Norris!

  • @MrLocalthug No, gorilla glass breaks Chuck Norris, everyone knows that!

  • @MrLocalthug sight* GRAMMAR NAZI's UNITE. HAIL GRAMMAR

  • I thought they only out source the people answering the phones?

  • I've dropped my droid eris on the pavement and picked it up with no scratches or cracks. This is the only thing that makes me nervous about owning a iPhone.

  • Move the mic please

  • I like how everyone is talking negative about gorilla glass but has 4 dislikes ;) out of like 230 smh trolls

  • what iPhones before iPhone 4 had Gorilla Glass!? My iPod's screen cracked like after 2 days just by falling from 50cm high -______-

  • i don't care how much weight it can handle, IT STILL SCRATCHES!!!

  • @aboriad15 It's a fucking phone...no shit you're gonna get scratches.

  • @LostMySauce

what phone? i don't think i mentioned a phone in my last comment i was talking about gorilla glass in general ^_^

  • Any glass can break. Give me a fucking break

  • @charlieecv yes but the amount that takes it to breaks can make a difference

  • @Luger718A1 I still think it makes no difference. Any glass still breaks

  • @charlieecv you could say the same about bulletproof glass but what would you rather stand behind when bullets come?.....sure this is not that big of a difference but if this bump in amount of pressure it takes to crack stops it from cracking from say a waist or shoulder height drop its definitely worth it

  • @Luger718A1 Apple when the iphone 4 came out said that the glass was strong but guess what they were wrong. you drop an iphone 4 without a case its gonna break. So them saying they made the glass stronger is bullshit cause all glass breaks. I don't trust what they say about the glass. I trust a good strong case. Without a case its gonna break.

  • @charlieecv I think that the total weight of the phone contribute to the rate of glass breaking also as well as design of the phone. iphone for some stupid reasons are very easy to break glass. I suspect greed was the main motive.

  • @charlieecv the iphone 4 didnt have gorilla glass. i have the samsung galaxy s2 with gorilla glass and its almost impossible to scratch or scratch. /watch?v=Os8v-4kpO8I

  • @Kick2theFlip Bullshit

  • Comment removed

  • @korn74 better than having a shattered or cracked screen

  • Comment removed

  • what's the point if it still scratches

  • @korn74 Wouldn't you rather be 3 months into your 2 year contract with a phone screen with a few scratches on it, instead of 3 months into your 2 year contract with a phone with a shattered screen?

  • baby mic

  • Yet some how, my phone breaks after a 2 foot drop...

  • put some dam muscle into it you puss.

  • It's cool but totally worthless unless your device has similar stress standards. Lol, try saying that 5 times fast

  • that's amazing

  • Scratched*

  • My got cracked o. My razr and it was barley being squeezed wow

  • Type 1000!

  • nice video and awesome glass technology. Still I'd would've cracked that by 100 pounds with three fingers.

  • Gay! if I drop my phone and the screen shatters oh well, I just want it

Not to scratch, I dont care if it takes a 1000pounds of pressure to break, if it scratches really easy then this shit is useless

  • @mosesE7 you think so? Lol lets try it!

  • I tell people where I work G-Glass its made from actual gorillas lol

  • John Red Nigger Here.

  • it still gets scratched:/

  • Decent.

  • why didn't you ask if it going to be on the ipad 3?

  • Add that to the iPhone 4 front and back lol

  • Great audio on this video and didn't mind the short advertisement.

  • I want moar Gorillaz music :'(

  • I already saw this on Tysiphonehelp

  • After watching this, I have a sudden urge to windex.

  • Ok. After watching this video, I have a sudden erg to windex my windows.

  • Tiny microphone makes me giggle.

  • iPhone dont use this glass.. so you gonna pay over and over again if you dropped it.

  • After watching this, I have a sudden urge to beat wife

  • It can withstand all that pressure but it gets scratched to shit after I leave it in my pocket for an hour with a penny or two. Psssssh

  • Is it shatter resistance I dropped my epic 4g touch once and the screen shattered

  • @itsmeandthebear iPhone or any Apple products have absolutely NO traces of Gorilla Glass in them. If you want a Gorilla Glass device, consider the Galaxy Series by Samsung.

  • @NeonGlowification True but many people are spectating that future Apple devises are going to have them.
