Burning Carbon Off of a Fouled Spark Plug

Can you use oil and sand paper to rub off the carbon?

@02615 usually the short is down the side of the ceramic insulator inside the plug. I never had any luck sanding/scraping it off. The torch is a quick fix too, you'd spend much longer trying to sand/rub down the inside of the plug.

No, a lighter isn't hot enough. You have to 'burn' the carbon
