@1877colt, for those that have truly been screwed by the system, but not the ones that are nothing but career panhandlers and are using Your movement to hide from the fact that they have no idea why or what they are protesting about. But are now veiwed as Occupiers, and not just homeless bums, But the DPD, they know which of you are real, and which of you in the park, are just homeless bums. Keep the park clean, pay for your supplies, and i will respect you, till then, you all are worthless.
@kevenkuzara Stop whining. Seriously. If you don't understand the issues, don't speak upon them. No one gives a shit about your triumph over homelessness, they give a shit about the economic unfairness that runs rampant in our country. Pay taxes and then make judgements. People who make peanuts get their taxes back in April... Middle class American's do not. You're no better than a homeless man in my eyes.
@tdodge1986 I'm way better than a homeless person, My point is that there are plenty of jobs out there, though many may be minimum wage or close too. and if you apply yourself you can get out of being homeless bums, you guys don't know what you are protesting, you are just using this economic struggles of Govt control. As a cover to being a Nobody and just another way to legally PANHANDLE AND BEG FOR A HANDOUT. Taco bell will hire you if you TAKE A SHOWER.
@kevenkuzara You go work at Taco Bell and try to support a family. You sound like a Faux news parrot. Use your own mind.America is going down the crapper. What will you say when your job is shipped oversea's? When the bank takes your home? When one of your children die's fighting a war for Wall St proffits? Or acumulates a life time of debt for a 4 year degree? Wake up? Your being played for a fool. And its working, sadly.
@1877colt so therefore, i don't empathize with them, they occupied the 16th street mall when i was homeless over 10 years ago in Denver. I made the changes to get me where i am now. Nobody but one man gave me a job 2 1/2 yrs ago. paid me peanuts, and and was a friend in a way, because he gave me a chance, I asked him for the job, he didn't offer it to me. I 4 years ago. Had 2 suitcases, my dog and a sleeping bag, and made it happen, and never gave up. I have empathy.
@1877colt so why do i not have empathy for you people. I came to Civic center park 2 months ago to donate food and supplies to the people of occupyDenver, and while i met with a few of them. i honestly saw people i knew, that where homeless 10 years or more ago, posing as Occupiers, They were the same young men and woman that have never tried to do anything for themself's back then, and still 10-20 yrs later, finding an excuse to get hand outs.
@1877colt, What you don't know, is that I spent many years homeless in denver, I'm 40 yrs now, from the time i was 19 to around 35, i was homeless off and on. Here in Denver, and Ft Collins, Cheyenne Wyoming ETC ETC. My wife passed away nearly 3 yrs ago. And for the past two years i spent working for 8 bucks an hours as a photographer at fairs across the western US, Living in My van with my dog. I saved that money, Bought me a small house, and started life over 4 months ago. TO BE CONTINUED
Get use to the Military showing up, and protesters disappearing into concentration camps. As long as the corporations own this country we will not have rights, and you have the trolls sitting on their asses condemning those who speak up because they are afraid of loosing what little they have left.
theres no way wal mart will be shut down. the fact that their prices are so low is why they are so big. if you are unhappy with walmart outsourcing factories to china, then have deregulation in workers rights, get rid of unions, and lower the minimum wage. then factories will come back. but truthfully, that will just make things worse. cuz that was America in the early 1900s. so walmart needs to stay, like it or not.
I'm a self-taught and self-progressed freelance interface designer. While the market was tumbling from government intervention on the economy, I was building my own business in the tough times. I was actually doing something. I don't blame others because they don't offer artificially-inflated job wages to me. I don't block roadways and make life harder for those trying to make a living.
Walmart has provided low-price goods to low-income families all around the United States. The same people you were pathetically ridiculing are trying to do their job and are willing to accept a lower wage in order to work their way up. Walmart employees are the ones who are truly solving the problem. All you people do is sit on your ass and whine. Your methods have proven nothing, all you have done is pissed off the actual working-class.
Why were ANY of these people arrested? The First Amendment might be under attack in this country (U.S.A.), but it's not - technically speaking - 'illegal' . . . not just yet.
Why is that one dude wearing Military fatigues? The National Defense Authorization Act has NOT been signed into law.
Earth to Denver PD: You're beginning to cross lines which will carry SERIOUS consequences.
@jimithingjames Hell, you're so stupid you don't even know where this happened. Who you saw was Loveland Police. The supposed "soldier" was an outdoor variety of SWAT gear. The people were not arrested for voicing their opinion, they all sat in the road in front of a shipping truck, they violated the rights of others and suffered the consequences. That driver was trying to support his family and make a living and you jackasses are just a burden on him trying his best.
@kevenkuzara ... Do you even think before you say something? I own a company and yet I still see the importance of this movement. They call it the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe it. I bet you haven't studied much history have you? If you don't see that the cost of living is increasing while the wages stay the same your truly blind. If you think this is just going to go away your beyond wrong. Time to wake the hell up and stop stereotyping others. You will be next.
@TheColdfriction My life is grand, i don't live in a tent on public property, i don't interfere with US production and sales to effect anyones job. I have nice little house out in the country, beautiful family, and nice big dog inside my white picket fence. And you people are making a futile attempt to destroy mine and many others American Dream, just because you all are homeless bums that can't accept the fact that you are the ones that caused your own financial problems..
@kevenkuzara your life may be grand but it is obvious you are lacking empathy and understanding therefore it is in your best interest to lose everything you have so that
you gain empathy and understanding which is better than your picket fence and little bitty dream.
Civil Disobedience is the only weapon the US citizenry has left in its arsenal against the merging of the corporatocracy and the US government. Protest consumerism is powerless against this emerging force that now has the backing of the US military and the Department of Homeland Security. These protestors refuse to submit to this neofeudalism and in short refuse to be slaves. Good work men and women.
@TheColdfriction Me Locked up. not happening. why, Because a peaceful protest does not consist of interfering with others right to work. Whether it be at a walmart or at a Wells Fargo. These people depend on those jobs to feed and shelter their families. If you want to protest the crap like Walmart, Don't shop there. I haven't been in a Walmart in over 3 years. I bank at a small CU, and i support my family. i don't support IDIOT trashing our parks and causing a Raucous on the streets. GO COPS
Immediately noted the intermittent use of what appeared to be "Military Personnel" participating in these arrests. Would like clarification about what division of armed services participated please! How many? Be specific: National Guard? If so, what unit? What base?
@hawkeyechristy Looking by the patches on the shoulder velcro (or at least what i could see) there was no American flag and the patch would have been a "C" with a circle around it for Colorado National Guard, so i doubt he was a soldier maybe just a swat officer. But i couldn't see the patches in great detail so who knows.
@kavenkuzara Those "idiots" are fighting for the last bit of freedom you and I have left. So when your locked up 5 years from now for minding your own business you might think back on this. Get educated.

What Idiots, Not referring to the cops, but the fricken morons that cause trouble like this, all you smelly wannabe's need to just disapear, Going to jail is good thing, maybe now you smelly idiots can take a shower
@carloandreral ...and those people are traitors to the Walmart employees trying to support their families and accepting a lower-wage job because they recognize they are not entitled to any artificially over-payed job.
I think I can answer what the charges were -- obstructing traffic and refusing an order from a police officer.
That said, I definitely support the message OWS has to offer. Walmart is a big part of what's wrong with our country today, and awareness needs to be made of what shopping Walmart costs us. Why not picket in front of stores, noting the cheap chinese made crap which ends up costing you MORE. Don't obstruct people getting in, but show those messages there. Should work nicely.
If you guys paid attention that was NOT a soldier, and the police did their job. Protest FINE, but dont prevent people from doing their job.
