  • I grow up too slow, i don't wanna go.

  • i grew up in the 80's and i met jesse michaels cool isnt hit

  • I would fuck shit up if they had a reunion. Anarchy would be flooded into the street for 14 days and 14 nights. M.D.C would play "dead cops" as the men in blue tried to create order by beating us with their batons.

  • FUck, only 16000 views, since 3 years...

the world is going nowhere, runnin' dry

I think Operation Ivy were "The" ska-punk band:

beautiful bass player and awesome singing...

They did a lot of masterpieces

  • If these guys ever played a reunion show I would sell my soul/murder someone for a ticket.

  • Now I'm working just like everyone else, but I'll get out, I'LL GET OUT OF HERE!

  • Operation Ivy, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, your gonna quibble about who's best? Why? They're all awesome - groundbreaking punk bands! Bit hey if ya wanna compare, BB - most intense/ creative, Minor Threat - most H.C (great lyrics), Op Ivy - best lyrics (poetically)/positive energy. C'mon just enjoy their existence!

  • Rancid was good at one point, until they bought into their own image, the last few albums have been garbage, they should've called it quits after life won't wait. I've loved Rancid at least 13 years now, but I have to say the current state of rancid sucks.

  • @Jasonchanceless agreed but I liked Rancid 2000 a lot.

  • rancid

    1993

    1994

    1995

    and 1998 were the best!

  • are you lot havin a fuckin laugh! rancid are just hanging round? fuck that. i cant not comment on how much i fuckin hate you people. Rancid are still doing ska/punk proud, now op ivy was something special, in a different league of fuckin awsomenes...but i would glady crash a plane into the house of anyone who recons rancid should give up

  • It's probably better that OpIV broke up when they did. That way, we can all remember them as this beautiful, amazingly bright flame that burned briefly and went out, instead of a bunch of guys who hung around too long (Rancid, I'm lookin' at you)

  • haha yeah maybe tim should just do his solo thing

  • i think rancid are past it now, but they gave alot to punk.

  • I can't believe how good they were at this young age...ska influence is one thing but they pulled a new sound out of thier ass, and it was genius off the bat (unlike most original young bands)

not to mention the timing on stage

  • Operation Ivy was like The Bad Brains, The Descendents, and Minor Theat al in one package.

  • ah ..no..sorry..no

bad brains? minor threat?..no..you cant do that..

minor threat alone was a billion times better

  • Why do you say that? Minor Threat had less intelligent lyrics, and their music wans much simpler. Operation ivy had the speed and intensity of Minor Threat and the Bad Brains, and they had the musical prowess of the Bad Brains and The Descendents.

  • discharge too

  • operation ivy all the way..

    fuck rancid!!!

  • Favorite op ivy song right here..... Favorite song in general.

  • fucking right they are shit.

    Op ivy all the way

  • @buyee dude i love green day. anyone who says they dont like green day IS NOT punk.

  • @rvillal57 hahaha you make me laugh, people have opinions fool. Oh shit im sorry I didnt know punk had a rule book you fucking follower. your just lableing yourself like a tool.

  • @rvillal57 i really fucking hate green day. i am a punk. i'm not gonna lie, i listened to dookie and really liked it, but i was 12 and then i grew up.

  • @buyee

so its ok that tim armstrong gets fame but billy joe not? xD ever heard there first records? without greenday there wouldnt be the song "radio" from rancid... or other songs ;)

  • @MasterMarf i sorta agree with you, there's other pop punk bands that sounds like green day that were before green day, so dont give them the credit, in fact, the only pop punk band that i can think of that i respect is jawbreaker, and green day definately got some stuff from them

  • @nymetsrock

no im just saying that green day was as good as this.... befor they start wearing black clothes etc.... greenday even wrote some songs for rancid....like "radio" if i would compare the first album of greenday and the first album of rancid.... greenday would win. but rancid is great to ;)

  • @MasterMarf see, i dont like rancid at all, i think operation ivy beats green day 10 to 1, there's nothing special about green day, they do a good live show, and they write alright music, but operation ivy was fucking special

  • @nymetsrock

yeah same opinion op ivy is better then greenday but i like greenday more then rancid. i think the problem is that i like too play songs on bassguitar.... i can cover greenday but matt freeman is to crazy for me xD ^^

  • opiv should get their ass to class and do a tour. maybe at gilman or the barn. that would be so fuckin sick

  • They're not together anymore. But they need to and fucking tour. Damnit.

    A shame

  • nah that would suck, better this way........

  • dude i live in upstate new york and i would fucking fly a plane over just to see them

  • Amazing

  • wow l think the last time l heard this song was on my boombox drinking 40s with my friends in a public park and that had to be close to ten years ago. what the hell am l doing wrong these days?

  • my favorite opiv song

  • I definitely would love to (have) see(n) them live, but I also agree that they're better to be remembered as they are. After all, Jesse said they were never meant to fit in a 1000-person stadium or something to that effect.

  • Couldnt have said it better myself tamihairgirl....We always knew when bands were special (Green day, op ivy, rancid, AFI) and so many more....we looked forward to all the great shows that unforyunately dont happen at gilman street anymore..........924 for life

  • WRONG!, im pretty sure we knew we were seeing one of the best bands ever! give us old punks a little credit, it was the truely a 'fuck ya' moment in the history of gilman and punk , and we DID know it.....

  • Fucking brilliant. I bet no one in that crowd realised what they were witnessing.

  • Fuck! why couldnt I have grown up in the 80s and see this! GOD DAMMIT!

  • Tim still plays... Go see him, I'm sure he would appreciate it. He won't be around forever you know, it's a lucky thing he actually made it to adulthood.

  • Dude Ive seen him before and he still tears it up! I was just stating that it would have been nice to see these guys when they were much younger and youthful. No disrespect to Tim at all, he's my fuckin hero and inspiration for picking up guitar.

  • Fer sho.

  • @HellcatHooligan Very few of us got to see THE SEMINAL BAND of the genre that we love. So don't feel so bad brotha!

  • @HellcatHooligan 90s bro

  • i cant believe its going to be 20 years soon....and just to think they were trying to change the world and its only gotten worse...sad and depressing

  • what i would've given to have seen them live

    wow..

  • awesome

  • can you feel the energy? :)

  • i'm glad someone filmed it back then

  • fuckin right

  • operation ivy is the best band ever, i wish there was a cleaner version of this song on youtube damnit.

  • man op ivy kicks so much ass

it sucks so balls they arn't together any more i think rancid should take a break and hook up the op ivy crew for another CD

  • i see what you're saying, and don't get me wrong i would like personally love to see operaiton ivy perform again live, but maybe it's just best that we remember them in their prime and to keep them the gilman legend they are.

  • woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • i love this song
