I remember seeing this when it came on The Johnny Cash Show back in '71...great song selection- best song on the Layla album-johnny was a very progressive thinker for being such a mainstream C&W star.
This is awesome. Honestly, if you don't enjoy this, you don't enjoy rock and roll itself.
I started out looking for some Bobby Whitlock online, and I stumbled upon this masterpiece.
Seriously, take seven minutes out of you life and crank this up. It will bring it ALL back home.
It's funny to see Carl Radle playing BEHIND the drums. Also, the Union Jack is a strange backdrop behind such American music. What a gem, on every level.
This was the era that Eric really began to gain his own true identity as the artist/vocalist/writer we know and love today...You could tell he really was going to be something special as an artist in the years to come.
Johnny Cash is the Man. I thought it was great how these three guys played together. Three of the greatest artists of all time. How often do you get to see three legends in the same room?
If you are a Derek and the Domino's fan, this is a MUST SEE! Seeing them play it brings out my visions of what was going on behind the music. It does that - and MUCH more!
Wow!!!! How did I miss this one? Great stuff.

Funny how Clapton looks at Perkins the way everyone looks at him now. A legend in the making.
