Bob Hope was absolutely the BEST! Did you see how he stumbled, at the beginning of that clip? He was old, but he put himself in harms way, to show his gratitude and respect. On top of it all, he was English, but he loved the USA. I have one living relative, an old duffer who served at Normandy, driving one of those drop front boats. He made 185 trips, not even a rifle in his hand. Imagine it! But he kept it together and bought our freedom. Thanks, Uncle Wes. I hope to GOD I'm worthy.
You don't have to be a conservative or a republican to support the troops or recognize how valuable our military people are. President Obama knows how important our military is, and supports every serviceman just as all the presidents who came before him did. I think we all would like to see an end to war and an end to putting our young people at risk. In the meantime we are grateful for their service and say a huge thank you on this Memorial Day.
Yeah bless our troops my son served in the Marines - youngest in his unit. He was willing to die for this country and our freedoms - no matter what the medai spews
we all know the truth - and most Americans love our veterans.
They gave their best, now we need to give them our best.
Amen brother! God Bless our Troops where ever they may be in this world doing the work of the American people and our friends and allies! I thank each and everyone of you that get up and put on the American military uniform!
Thank you for the touching tribute. I didn't get that when I came home. It touches me deeply that people remember our service too.
I offer no explanations for fighting during a time when my Country hated me. I don't even care about those freaks anymore. I Don't want to ever see it happen again to our troops though. Unfortunately ,to a far lesser extent thank God, it's happening now. It boils my blood.
Marteeeeeeeeee! I will always miss him too and I only know him from Sean's show.

My friends father was serving in New Guinea when he took a picture of Bob Hope and Francis Langford. God bless our veterans and their families. Grandpa Clarence Jones
This is by far one of your best videos!! Thanks for putting the footage together. The sacrifices of the WWII vets will never be matched again. I'm so glad you had clips of Bob Hope. I read his autobiography he truly is an American Hero himself. Often times when his plane would come in for landing it would take enemy fire. He didn't want anyone to know because it would take away from what our vets were doing.
I'd join, but I have a condition that means I can potentially be severely effected if I am outside in high heat conditions for more than 30 minutes at a time. I don't know if its sunlight specifically or if its just heat that can do this.
Enjoy the nostalgia, because the America portrayed in the vid is gone forever. If the Nazis came to power today in europe they would prevail because the US has lost the moral certitude and political unity to take on any significant challenge.

My message for them is "What goes around comes around".
God blessed the USA with a great gift. We have so many blessings, not the least is the young men and women who served this country so that we could be free from oppression, undemocratic influence, and so that we can live a better life than our ancestors did. God Bless the USA and all she stands for. Thank you to all those who make me proud to say I live in this beautiful land of the free and home of the brave. Thanks, Lonnie, for a most befitting tribute.
OUTSTANDING!!!!!! We must not lose hope, we must not waver in our support of our troops past and present! We must continue to let our voices be heard. Thank you for this video.
Lonnie this brings back the memory of watching Bob Hope visiting the troops.I always looked forward to watching his Christmas visit on TV. I will also miss hearing Marty on Sean's radio show. He was a Great American. We need to see more of this type of tribute to our troops but will we??? There are Americans whodon't appreciate the scrafice that these men and women went through to protect our freedoms. God bless all our troops, who have served our country from the begining in 1776 til the present
Thank you so much for this video! I searched Youtube specifically to find something patriotic for this day. My father was a Vietnam Vet, GOD bless his soul, and my son is currently serving a second tour in Iraq with the Army 1/25 Stryker Combat Brigade out of Alaska.
Again, thank you so much and thank you for caring!
God Bless the Armed Forces. Hearing Ronald Reagan talk about the American troops always brings a tear to my eye. I say, Thank you to the American soldier...I really do understand and cherish this freedom that you have given us.
Lonnie, As many of your videos I have watched and rated, this is by far the best yet. It shows thanks, respect, admiration and more. Thanks to you Lonnie for a great job.
Thank You Lonnie. I will always be thankful for all past , present and future who so bravely serve our country. You will always be in my prayers and never forgotten. 5 stars
Having entered the Navy in 1940, he watched a comrade washed off the deck of a tanker while carrying fuel to Murmansk. Later, on another ship, a Kamikaze killed dozens in the mess hall moments after Dad had left to write a letter home. In the 60s Dad piloted merchant ships loaded with ammunition up the Mekong to Saigon.
A quiet man, he said nothing to me about his experiences in WWII, Korea or Nam. I never found the opportunity to thank him.
I asked Mom what was Dad's rank in the Navy. She said Chief Gunners Mate. So I began to call my Dad by the name "Chief." He never said anything to indicate if he approved of not. A few few days before he died in 1980 and played the song "Try to Remember" for him on my guitar. I saw tears in his eyes...
To all those who have served and are currently serving this great country, my thanks goes out to you, we will never forget your service and sacrifice.
A better time and a better place were the days of Ronald Reagan and Bob Hope. They and others such as Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne were very honorable and real stars....

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.

In WW1, men are expected to charge over open ground into the throats of machine guns.

I enlisted, but was discharged for medical reasons in basic at Ft. Jackson. It is tough to be away from your family. It is a different kind of toughness that has to be endured. Even in basic training. It is in training when you learn about fear in war situations. I'll stop there.
I say this a lot, but good great video Lanni. I think about them everyday (the ones who have died in service. Once you are in the service, your eyes are opened to what can go wrong, and how it hurts.
Thank you, Lonnie. This video is a great service to our soldiers here and abroad. My father, although never had to go into combat, was stationed at a missile silo/base in Arizona who could fire missiles off at any second. The USAF made my father tough as nails.
Wow, whenever I try to express it, I'm always at a loss for words. There just aren't words to thank these fabulous people for all they have done and continue to do for us. We're blessed to have your voice saying it better than I could have. Thank you for this video. Thanks to all who have served and all who are serving now. God bless you all. Happy Veterans Day. Take care:)
All the Obama robots posting comments about ConservativeVoiceUSA being unpatriotic can kiss my a@#. It's the American way to voice your opposition. Being for McCain and against Obama was NOT unpatriotic. This is America, and we have the right to our opinion. Time will prove to America that McCain would have been the better choice.
Regarding Iraq, everyone I talk to that's been there is in favor of what we're doing. Everyone I talk to that's against it, has NOT been there. Speaks volumes.
Absolutly agree with you elgcpa.Leave the Military over there and finish up so we don't have to send them in again later.GOD BLESS the UNITED STATES MILITARY!Support them any way you can.and a great big THANK YOU to the U.S. Military & all the vet's.your awesome!!
I have to throw in my two cents. First, the Bob Hope clip brought tears to my eyes. I served in Iraq twice, and I have many friends that saw their kids for the first time in photos sent from half a world away. Second, you need to know this generation's version of Bob Hope. He is Charlie Daniels. I was on a FOB that was in the middle of nowhere. He was the only celebrity to visit us. The Blackhawk pilot who flew him in told us that they had taken fire from the ground on the way there.
The pilot told Charlie that they could turn back, but he refused. He said he knew that we wouldn't be getting any other visits and he wasn't about to not come and entertain us. Since that day, I have always had the highest respect for the man and try to tell everyone that story. He has done more for vets than anyone I have heard of in the post 9-11 time. Third, I want you and your viewers to not give up on Iraq. Despite some of the attacks on my unit, I support the war 100%.
We are doing a ton of good in that country. Schools, hospitals, homes, irrigation systems, and many other important structures are being built. Children with diseases are being healed. Once oppressed communities, are now free to move about. I have story after story that would explain the gratitude my unit recieved by many Iraqi people. To leave now, would be a shame. We must stay as long as it takes, to turn that country into a safe one. Thanks for your video.
Hi mfrantom, thanks for telling us. You know we don't hear nearly enough and not because we don't want to hear it. I appreciate haring it from someone who has been there. Thanks so very much for your service. God bless you. Happy Veterans Day. Take care:)
