heres my story with this car.

i do not care about the specs of this car, or how naturefriendly this is, or gasfriendly. but i do know , that this car gives me an instant erection every time i see it. im not a huge car fan, not at all, but if I saw this car in Top Gear for the first time - I automatically fell in love with this. I will probably never have money for this car, but it is already a joy to watch it in picture or videos. I love this car.

I'm an American, and I love WRC, and I may not know the history of the RS, but I can see that it's a car that I want. I also like to watch rally, when I can find it... mostly here on youtube though.

Not yet, they are bringing it here in 2010 as the new Ford Focus for the United States, because ours sucks.....this is the first hatchback I thought was cool......though the Mazda3 hatchback isnt bad either, Mazdaspeed3 that is!

Under the ford plan which is "one ford" it should. It means that they want to unify all the ford products and not sell different things in different places. Seeing how an American car company sells its best cars overseas Americans werent pleased and sales havent been good but European sales have been very profitable for a while. The car would cost around 28k here.

Those who are arguing about 4WD and FWD. I know there are alot of goods and bads in both of them but lets not forget 4WD can do 4-wheel-drifts like the ones you see in Rallying (may be that's what some of us are after). and FWD CANNOT do that, no matter how great their engineering is, That's nature of physics.

The dirt is doing most of the drifting in that clip. And if a FWD car hold a prolonged drift very easily doesnt mean it cant drift.

the trouble is FWD will always understeer on the exit as long as back finds grip. How Long can FWD hold the back tail out in a long bend?

You can keep yanking the handbrake and weightshifting the car but the sensation is never the same...

Flat out in first and all it did was pull on the wheel a bit i think ford deserve a round of applause!! There's something a bit clever going on under there.

I just hope this suspension setup and diff catch on as upgrades for older fwd cars. I want it for my fiesta track car!

Continued;secondly30-40bhp losses through the transmission.On the corsica rally(lovely tarmac,very twisty)the fwd citroen rally car used to leave the 4wd in its dust,there traction advantage gone(except from a standstill)and there diffs locking up on the hairpin bends.What I am trying to say is in the real world,if your car is under £30k and the fwd is designed well,fwd is hard to beat,also you are basing all your 4wd/fwd facts on standard fwd systems,the RS fwd system has revoknuckle

So much crap about 4wd,look,when there is limited traction,yes 4wd is generally better,on dry tarmac,a light fwd car with lots of poke is hard to beat,firstly your 4wd car will have a 100-200kg weight disadvantage

I personaly am a Gm person my first car which I still have is a 01 pontiac gp gt...but I really respect the ST and this new RS simply great handlers!! I couldn't believe when I drove the ST very good car and the engine sounds great...I still love having fun in my old e30 tail happy...but if you're serious about driving fast not sliding like a luni this is the car!! best fwd car I ever driven...

thats 90's thinking mate, technology moves on, 4wd is heavy, so car uses more fuel, drifts in corners, eats tyres, compromises cabin space, makes it more expensive... need i go on.

an awd car can still be light. example subaru impreza type r. its not 90s technology or else they wouldnt use it in rally today. it doesnt drift it actually gets better grip around corners. yes it makes it more expensive, but they have made an awd before, why not make one again?
