I agree that it's too fast. Much more enjoyable to listen to when you slow it down and focus on the melody. Scott Joplin pieces should move and swing without being obnoxious. I love Keith Emerson and to his credit, it looks like he just pulled it out of his ass anyway. I know he can do way better.

The existing piano rolls of Joplin have him playing it at 88 bpm. I'm not sure how accurate that reproduced his speed of playing, though. This was 118 bpm.

I remember learning that piece at age 13 after being dazzled by hearing KE play it. The legend of KE certainly transcends the quality of that particular performance recording. He certainly does well enough to be playing where he was

PS. I didn't realize he has/had a problem with his right hand - if so, then more props to him. But as a general performance, irregardless of who he is, what handicaps he might have, his age, etc...it was a mediocre performance, nothing special in the least bit and you can find about 100 videos of Maple Leaf Rag here on youtube that are better than this performance.

Don't get me wrong, he obviously has talent, and I dont know how to play the organ, but I do know how to play this piece, and I know that this particular performance was mediocre and that he left out the hardest part, called the "TRIO".

I'm not too familiar with Emerson, so this is a relatively OBJECTIVE opinion on this video compared to his cheerleaders here who like Emerson so much that they look past this mediocre performance...anyone who disagrees with you or I obviously doesn't know how to play this (whole) piece very well.
