  • Eowyn is kissing Faramir and Legolas is kissing me!

  • fannaly a happy story between them, everyone else made one die or they were forbidden to be to gether.thank you!!!

  • well... I can't imagine Legolas and Eowynn together... but... anyway is a cool video... and of course the song =)

  • Fortunatelly Legolas wasn't in love with her so they were never kissing.Eowyn loved Aragorn and later she married Faramir.Legolas is single.Thank you Tolkien and Jackson.

  • @loveatrej I think there would have been another FLOOD if Legolas had a girl in LotR! JUst imagine 10.000 girls in love crying after him all over the world!

    Awesome vid!

  • @loveatrej Seriously guys! Thank you for stating the OBVIOUS. >.> What do you say when people showing you crack!shippings? "Oh they don't happen! How silly!"

  • @ForeverMoreStudios You are welcome. And enjoy the crap!sh!tt!ngs.

  • @loveatrej Wow that was amazing! You just misspelt crack!shipping so badly that the English dictionary would start crying because of your stupidity. Oh and your closed mind is an insult to Tolkien.

  • @ForeverMoreStudios It wasn't misspel btw. Legolas/Eowyn pairing is insult to Tolkien.

  • @loveatrej Oh it must be because it's not. Honestly how arrogant can you be? How the hell did you know that Tolkien might want his work to be interpreted in different ways? How do you know that he wouldn't want people to enjoy their work by creating different things with it? Because you are just sooooo logical. Going to an Legolas/Eowyn video and insulting it, not for the video but for the pairing. If I'm a troll then at least I have some logic behind my insults. What do you have?

  • @ForeverMoreStudios First Tolkien even didn't want his books to be made into movies. He sold the rights for LOTR and The Hobbit because he didn't have money. He didn't want his work to be interpreted. Second Tolkien was a purist and very sensitive about his work. Third someone wanted to continue his work and make some of his work more detailed. Tolkien refused it.

  • @loveatrej Where do you see any trolling in my comment. Just because I said Eowyn married Faramir and I'm glad Legolas was single doesn't mean I'm a troll. I think you are paranoid or Faramir/Eowyn ship hater. Sorry for you.

  • @loveatrej Then I disagree highly with him and find it wrong of him to be so closed minded about his work. You are a troll when you go to a LEGOLAS/EOWYN video and don't comment on the video but on the pairing. I think your a delusional canon shipper. More sorry for you.

  • @ForeverMoreStudios Who cares if you disagree with master Tolkien? Who are you to judge one of the most genius writer of all time? Maybe he and many of his fans don't take his books and LOTR movie so cheaply as people like you do.

So according to your logic people who comment on this video "I like the pairing" are trolls too because they don't comment on the video but on the pairing.

  • @loveatrej Oh wow. A hero worshiper. Should have known. "Most genius writer of all time?" So what's Shakespeare then? His apprentice? Cheaply? Because I believe things should be interpreted in many different ways? Wow. I'm in shock that you don't realize that's the brillant thing about books. You can see things differently than someone else. But noooo. It seems the author is always right. Well guess what, he isn't. Or she isn't. Books are the tool for the open minded.

  • @ForeverMoreStudios I said he was ONE of the most genius writer. If you think books are written for other people to misinterpret or change them than you are in delusion. And to do this is even illegal. It's stealing. If people want to be artistic they can create their own characters and write their own books and not steal from others.

  • @loveatrej And Tolkien was very right when he paired Eowyn with Faramir. that chapter is beautiful but I don't suppose you read it.

  • @loveatrej Okay. My mistake. One. See I can accept I screwed one thing up. Can't you? Oh wow misinterpret. You must be in delusion! For crying out loud, people can see things different then you! There aren't a bunch of people reading the book and thinking, "Oh I should see this as everyone else does! I should be like everyone else." Honestly that's how free thinking is held back, by people like you. Disgusting. Illegal? It's illegal to think something different? It's stealing!

  • @ForeverMoreStudios You totally misinterpret my points.

  • @loveatrej Yeah sure just like I did the movie. *extreme facepalm*

  • @loveatrej I can't believe you think I'm the delusioned one. Stealing wow. You must have never read a fanfic before. Honestly. Why watch music videos like this one then? There "stealing" the music. And the movie isn't theirs either! Ugh I bet you even like SOPA. That is YOUR bloody opinon. Don't pull some crap "No it's a ffaccttt" cause it isn't. Why force your opinon down other people's throat! Honestly. I don't care who you ship, so why should you care who I do?

  • @ForeverMoreStudios Omg girl are you paranoid? You are screaming here like a hysterical crazy girl. Calm down. Nobody is hurting you. No, I don't like SOPA and I don't care who you pair with who even Gollum with Nazgul if you like.

Guess what? I have had read some fanfics and pretty good fanfics.

  • @loveatrej I just wanted to make one small comment:

Books are written how the writer has them in mind. That is true. He chose how the story goes and how the characters are.

However, because people can't share thoughts directly, reading it does not mean that the reader will see the writer's vision. They'll wonder "What if...?" and that is how things like these videos and fanfics and even conversations come to life. The writer can never control that. That doesn't make it illegal. Just natural.

  • @smaknp1 People interpret things differently. It's very hard to write one sentence and have everyone read it with the same thoughts.

  • @smaknp1 Well, I think it's clear Tolkien wrote Faramir/Eowyn got married....etc. What other thing you want to see in it? You think when you read it "No, Eowyn married Aragorn or Legolas, that's how I see and interpret Tolkien's chapter about Faramir and Eowyn."

  • @loveatrej Before they get married, you can take a look at the relationships differently. You can also think, "Maybe ten years down the road, the relationship changes." It happens all the time as it is.

Beyond that, it's more like, "How would these two characters interact if they were to meet?" Would they like each other? Hate?

Maybe you see two characters talk and you wonder what if something else happened? You happen to like their interaction and want to see more of it.

  • @loveatrej In different situations. Hence the birth of all these fan-things. Canon is fact, set in stone. But that doesn't mean you can't imagine alternative routes that could have happened, the other ways the story could have gone. Some people are content with canon, others are curious and like to explore.

  • @loveatrej As well, the movies and the books are different entities. I mean, the moves make a lot of A/E ship-teasing. Which wasn't in the book. And E/F are not prominent in the movies, so if you were to just watch the movies, you wouldn't really think : E/F, would you?

  • @smaknp1 Honestly after watching Two Towers and before I watched Return of the King I thought Eowyn and Aragorn are going to end up together. But when she ended up with Faramir I saw it was so natural. Those 2 were meant for each other and it shouldn't be other way. And Legolas/Eowyn? Sorry but this idea is totally out. Could never work and didn't even come to Tolkien's mind therefore he gave them zero interaction and zero chemistry.

  • @loveatrej In the novels, it is natural. In the movies, you'd have to see the extended edition to really get their shipping and even that is a bit rushed. As for Legolas/Eowyn, as I was saying, different people see in different ways. It could be based off something nonsensical--"they look good together"--to something more deep such as considering their characters and how well their personalities suit each other.

  • @loveatrej As well, there are times when you read something and think, "Oh, if only this character met that one." The fact that they didn't meet does not mean they have zero chemistry. I just means you don't know what they're chemistry could be. It is an unknown.

  • @smaknp1 Well, I think it was pretty obvious Legolas wasn't interested in Eowyn at all and she was interested in someone else and that was right. No need to fix what is not broken. Legolas was "Aragorn this, Aragorn that" and enjoyed the dwarf company.

Tolkien definitely considered characters and personalities and how they suit each other therefore he made A/A and F/E couples and not some nonsencial L/E or something.

  • @loveatrej And don't try to tell me some fangirl shippers know better than Tolkien.

  • @loveatrej

And I'm not saying they know better. I'm just saying they are curious about alternative routes the story could have taken. Everyone who reads a story sometimes thinks "That part could have been written better." It doesn't have to be a shipping. It could be a battle, an argument, a choice. The moment you think that, you're opening yourself to alternatives for the story.

  • @loveatrej I'm sure all authors consider their characters and personalities before they write the story. And I'm sure what they choose is best.

And canonically, Legolas wasn't interested in her at all.

BUT. That doesn't mean that there aren't people wondering what their relationship could have been. After all, they must have talked a bit--they were in the same place for a while. It just wasn't written. So, how did they interact? That is left open.

  • @smaknp1

And people have different tastes. That's why we have so many genres and people like different characters. If I were to say "Aragon is my favourite character and I hate Legolas" and you were to say "I love legolas and hate aragon", does that mean I'm right? that you are? No, it just means we have different tastes.

  • @smaknp1 You said they must had talked a bit-they were in the same place for a while. Not necessarily. Plus your statement would be okay if we talked about real person fiction but we talk about fictional characters who were created by the author and who didn't or don't exist so there isn't anything like "this isn't in the book but they could have some interaction." It can work for actors or real person fiction but not for characters.

  • @loveatrej I've read few very good written short fanfics about Legolas and Eowyn having non romantic interactions (respect, friendship, comfort....). One of the best one is called Namarie.

  • @loveatrej It isn't depicted, but time did pass. The characters must have spent their way in some way. How they filled that time is up to the reader and what they judge the characters are like.

And as you said, you've ridden stories about the two interacting. We don't know how they view each other--they could have not cared about the others existence, for all we know. This is an unknown.

  • @smaknp1 No, the characters don't spend their day in some way because they don't exist. They are characters. They didn't exist before the story and they don't exist after the story. They are written in the book or appear in the movie. That's fiction. Not reality. What you say is true for actors but not characters who were created by the writer. They don't exist.

  • @loveatrej Then you don't know many writers. These characters might not live in the way you and I do, but they do exist. They are ideas and it is very hard to stop an idea once it starts. For the writer, these characters exist very clearly in their mind and the writer knows generally everything about them. But characters can surprise the writer and sometimes cause the story to go in a way the writer didn't originally intend.

  • Comment removed

  • @loveatrej It might not be like this for all authors, but there are many authors for whom this is true. They argue with their characters as they write and know just what happens to them after they've finished the book. They might not exist in the way you and I do, but that doesn't make them any less real to the author.

  • @loveatrej The original story is just a mind work of the author. It is just formation of words on paper. Stories are words given 'life'. It is this 'life' that makes people read a book or watch a movie.

Also, if you feel that way, that they are just ideas on paper, then it doesn't quite matter how other people view the series or the characters in it. For you the story is closed, but for others it is still going on.

  • @smaknp1 No, for me it's not as simple as closing book and I really care about characters and think of them. I know they aren't real but on the other hand they are more than just ideas on the paper. You get me wrong and misunderstood my statements. I care about LOTR books and movies so much therefore I dislike any extreme alternative universe ideas.

  • @loveatrej I think for people who change pairings and story is this just a book and characters are just a characters only. But for us who are more canon purists is this more than a book or movie.

  • @smaknp1 I don't feel that way at all. And especially Legolas means a lot to me. My stomach and heart feels sick when I see all this Legolas/Eowyn, Legolas/Arwen nonsense. And I'm really grateful to Tolkien that Legolas isn't hooked up with anyone and Faramir lived a happy life with Eowyn and Aragorn with Arwen.

  • @loveatrej Sorry for misunderstanding you.

As for alternative universe and non-canon shippings, I will use myself as an example.

It's not that I don't love the book, the characters, or the story. It is not just a book and they are not just characters. I grow up with them, change with them, cry with them. There are some stories that I can put down and feel, "That was complete."

  • @loveatrej For others, though, that is not the case. There could be a nagging question, such as, "What if X died instead of Y?" or possibilities that weren't explored in the story. They were brought up but weren't explored enough for me. I still love the story, I still like how it went, but I still wonder about something else. I'm not feeling 'complete' at the end. So I will write a story, read a story to fill in that gap.

  • @loveatrej Sometimes the question is even more AU than just changing who died. It could be, "How would they adapt if they were in this situation?" I read a good story once for a different fandom that took the characters to a futuristic setting. The characters were the same at heart, but it was interesting to see how they change and how they were the same.

  • @loveatrej You could be watching two different shows and think, "Hey, wouldn't that character get along really well with this one?" and that's how cross-overs were created.

In the case of L/E and L/A--they aren't shippings I particularly support, but I can understand them. Yes, F/E and A/A occurred. Some people who read the books might not have liked those shippings, or liked those shippings but other ones as well, and that's how other routes occur, these others "what ifs".

  • @loveatrej Sometimes it can be because of the chemistry of the characters--like Legolas and Aragon. Sometimes it is a thought you had while watching/reading and it wouldn't go away. Like Legolas/Arwen and Leoglas/Eowyn. "L and A are both elves, they might have met before?" and then go from there.

  • @loveatrej I would also like to point out that: it doesn't have to be an "I LOVE YOU" attraction, it could be a passing thought. A simple, "he's good looking."

  • @loveatrej So some people take a look at the two and think, "Hey, they could be friends." "Hey, they could respect each other." It is not that much of a stretch to think, "Hey, they could be attracted to one another." Legolas is an handsome elf after all and Eowyn is rather pretty. In an alternative world, could something else have happened? And if you're a very good writer, you can even write it in without changing the plot.

  • @smaknp1 No, something else couldn't have happened. We know who Eowyn is attracted to and that Legolas didn't care about her. Alternative universe are mind works of people. In the alternative universe I can be a milionare but "what if" don't work when it's just an idea.

  • @loveatrej Oh and no I haven't read LoTR. I've seen the movies. But I do ship Eowyn with Aragon. And I doubt the book can change my mind.

  • @ForeverMoreStudios Tolkien's first plan was to make Aragorn and Eowyn married couple but he changed his mind and gave Eowyn to Faramir.

  • @loveatrej I love how he gave her to Faramir. Honestly. Paranoid? What the hell. How am I parnoid? Hysterical crazy girl oh god this is funny! Oh wow I love how your contradicting your self. It's pathetic. It really is. I can't believe you read fanfic. Doesn't it change up and misinterpret "master" Tolkiens work? How can you stand it, if here you are preaching to me how it's illegal. And stealing. Honestly. And like hell you don't care. If you didn't why comment?

  • @ForeverMoreStudios Calm down a little. I know you're frustrated because every video for this pairing has the exact same comment ("Eowyn ends up with Faramir, Legolas is single"), but calm down a little. People like stating the obvious for some reason.

  • @loveatrej Don't know why your reading if you can't accept other people's views.

While they aren't trolls, I disagree with them too. They aren't trolls because at least they're saying something the creator can relate to rather than bashing the pairing! If you don't like the pairing fine, then comment at least about the video too! Same if you like it! Say it was good or bad I don't care as long as you explain why.

  • @ForeverMoreStudios When you are unable to give logical arguments you start to be offensive. Typical troll work.

  • Cool vid, nicely done.

But wasn't Legolas an admirer of lady Arwen? Gimli was a knight of Galadriel and his friend was bewitched by her granddaughter, wasn't he?
