  • let this be a lesson to everyone: never have an odd number of children because the middle child is ALWAYS evil...

  • aight i get it know jennifer came bacc & tricced mary cuzz she didnt help her out the car owell thats what she get respect to the ghost girl

  • Damn...That was actually scary!

  • I was thinking about this movie the other day. Thank you.

  • um filme da década de 80.

  • What kind of Father also endangers his kids by being pissed up, behind the wheel anyhow.

  • Hey that girl was in Annie as an orphan back in 1982.

  • @digigirl986 yes, she was Duffy.

  • Mary was cracked up the whole time good movie one of the better ones!))

  • Mary could have helped Jennifer out, but she did not, she shut the door on her sister... she is guilty

  • Yeah hell, have another beer for the road eh, why not:0

  • friends help me! I did not understand the end ... After all it was a ghost or Jennfier was Mary who fled the hospital and posed as her to scare the mother? And if there was a fanstasma which means that close to her eye?

  • Suprised Clyde isn't driving would have better results:}

  • May that little bitch burn in hell!

  • Very creepy!!! Thanx for posting this awesome movie. :)

  • OMG I can not believe I have never seen this before! Excellent scary movie. Wish they were still made this way. Thanks uploader, for sharing!

  • The best ending ever!! LOL!! Than's for posting this!!

  • that's one crazy kid

  • HOW DUMB!!!! I want that 90 minutes back of my life......SISTERS!!!!

  • OMG! I think this movie at such a young age screwed me up!!! LMAO I didn't wanted kids growing up. And when I finally had one, I NEVER wanted anymore. Watching this movie again made me realized why! LMAO

  • It'd be heaven on earth if this was ever released on DVD!

  • @lurch321 I thought it was on DVD? Someone brought it on the internet, burned a copy and gave it to me as a gift last year. I never watched it, now It's lost around the house somewhere. But I know they said that they found the DVD online. Maybe it was a bootleg. *shrug*

  • Mary was definitely possessed or had dual personalities. When she's "Jennifer" she starts biting her lip. She did the same thing right before the Grandmother died. Spooky stuff...

  • this was a very good movie with a scary ending the child who played mary was perfect and all of the rest of these actors gave ecxellent performances.i likedthat the ending had a supernatural element if they made similar movie in now days we wouldnt see any ghosts it would only be some crazy kids imagination and that sux when you wanna see a ghost movie...also the house looked very creepy and the whole atmosphere dark.

One similar movie to this is Burnt offerings shot in 77 and scary as hell

  • What an EVIL smile on Jennifers face at the end!! SCARY!!!!!!!!

  • i watchedthis movie with my big sister a long time ago, the scene in the padded room and the ending has always stayed withme(if what vaguely) I haven't thought about it in years and was suprised(and glad) that someone had posted this movie up. The ending still makes my heart pound, so incredibly creepy!!

  • I miss these movies of the week!

  • Holy shit!! That ending is creepy as hell! See, this is back in the day when they actually released this kind of stuff on TELEVISION. I don't think television has the balls to show something like this, or Dark Night of the Scarecrow and the original Don't Be Afraid of the Dark anymore. Hell, even cable channels can't match this type of overall CREEPINESS!

  • Dayum must say. First i ever come across this movie on here. How did i miss this one. I don't know. I never seen it. As a kid. But will say splendid nice & wonderful.

  • the ending of this movie was BRILLIANT!!! so where the child actors man, what talent for being so young!! p.s. if Casey Anthony is guilty, the ending needs to happen to her, that would be good-

  • i love made for tv movies! thanks for the post!

  • omg when jennifer popped up and said hi mommy i thought i was gonna jump out of my seat

  • I saw this the night it was first on. Pretty creepy movie.

  • The movie is symbolic in that Jennifer saves the worst punishments for her mother and sister: her sister will probably spend the rest of her life in an asylum while the ending implies that Jennifer is going to personally dispose of her mother. This really shows how female relatives often loathe and detest each other!

  • God, is this husband a total loser! First, he loses his job, then he gets drunk while driving his family home, then crashes the car, then caters to his nagging wife while his kids are still inside the about to explode car.

  • I'm reading several people saying they were 7-15 when they saw this. Must make a lot of us 35-45. If this was a 1982 movie, then I was 9. I'm 38 now. Glad to see, just like Unsolved Mysteries, that I'm FAR from the only one who needed to be with my parents to watch these.

  • If The Orphan and poltergeist had a child and this would be it.

  • @fielongmaster Haha!! Poltergeist!! "Oh no...that's how Poltergeist got started." Silver Spoons when Rick didn't answer the intercom.

  • The look on the little girl's face at the very end is too creepy!

  • @bookjunkie31 ba hoobin marbar fimbon harben bebebe booboo popwell

  • I saw this on TV when I was 11-the ending stuck with me all this time. That, and the pizza cutter scene.

  • @Hamstergirl71 @horrormoviefan840 I'm 38 in 2011, and this still scares the crud out of me! I must've been 9 when I saw this, if it was 1982.

  • This damn movie has haunted me for years! I didn't think I'd ever find out the title (thanks Mondo Video). To be able to watch it again was awesome, and it's still creepy as hell. I was five years old when I saw this, and I think it must have been the 1st time I saw bad things happen to children in movies. No wonder it traumatized me, lol! Thanks so much for posting!

  • I remember watching this movie as a kid too. I don't get how the girl could not get out of the car. Only her shoelaces were tied together. She could have stumbled out of the car and what caused the car to blow up? Normal head on collisions like that don't cause a car to blow up. (I know it is a horror movie and I am reading too much into it) LOL.

  • boo got you

  • boo

  • Now that I'm older & have a better understanding of this, I think Mary got nearly what she deserved by letting Jenny die. Her life for Mary's would do it for me. This strengthens my wish that I was born an only child.

  • @mileyworld226 it was a ghost. The girl was possesed.

  • Can anyone relate to a family like this where the grandmother is stupidly, insensitively biased in favor of one grandchild, doesn't even kiss one of them goodbye? Hard to feel too much sympathy when she bites the dust. Strange though that Jennifer's ghost wished her ill since she was her favorite.

What did they do to Jennifer's face to make her look so demonic at the end?

  • I think if that happened to me i'd just jump out a window. There is only so much a person can take.

  • Excelente recuerdo...nunca pense que volveria a ver esta pelicula de suspenso..cuando era chico me aterraba mucho...no me dormire esta noche....

  • In my memories, the scene with the car tragedy happened in the daytime. How strange. Love the ending. You know what else I like - the title. Because this was the first horror movie I ever saw. It was my bed time and I asked my parents if I could watch that movie after I'd seen the creepy preview during the commercial break showing the pizza cutter part. They let me watch it - so I didn't go to sleep.

  • @SandBarAndYou yes me too!!! i thought for years it happened in the daytime! then when i saw this i was surprised that it was a night- kinda wierd you remember it like that to!! the ending was great best part of the movie, came out when i was 4 and saw when i was 6 DID NOT WANT TO LOOK AT THE FOOT OF MY BED!!!! lol

  • @drumking241 Yeah that is weird huh. I remember it was daytime and in front of someone's house and not just in the middle of nowhere.

  • This movie and the trailer for the movie "Magic" tormented as a kid. After I saw this movie, I was afraid to look at the end of my bed at night for years.

  • I've been looking around for this forever, I mistakenly thought it was the Bad Seed remake from 85. That sillouhette scene at the end freaked me as a kid n the pizza cutter was awesome. Finally got corrected on the title at a Bad Seed forum where some gal asked about the pizza cutter. They r similar movies as far as sisters/ good kid/bad kid yadayada, anyway.... Awesome to see the scene again!!

  • I have never forgotten this movie. Made for TV or not, this is one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. Love it! Thanks for posting :)

  • I cant believe that so many people share the same experience as me when I watched this film in early eighties I was around 6-7yrs in London. I'm amazed that I had vivid memory of this film only watching it once all those years ago. I really enjoyed watching it again and I will show it to my children now who are 7 and 9!!!! Let them freak out just like me when I was their age!

  • @topmastaan

Well, I have a 9 yr old niece and maaaaaaybe will let her watch it next year. Dunno know yet. Yes, this movie was definitely the one I watched and it scared me too!!! And not to mention, I am the older of me and my sibling, my brother, who's a yr and a 1/2 younger than me. Thank goodness I don't have an older sister that had died, or this movie really WOULD HAVE scared me to death.

  • @topmastaan its freaky how this film sticks in ur brain coz i was about the same age when I saw it way back when and have also had very vivid memories of it, can remember quite a lot of it especially the last 10 minutes of it or so. But I couldn't remember the name of it tho. It's popped into my mind a lot recently so I googled 'tied sister's shoelaces and car crashed' and it brought me here! Just watched the whole thing and it brought back some weird memories! Thanks for uploading baiafy :)

  • @sammyjomc that's so funny. The same thing happened to me. I remembered the movie from when I was really little so I googled pretty much what you did and here it was.

  • my room is dark so I got paranoid and started to look around me LOL

  • LOL! the ending when jennifer appeared to her mom scared the hell out of me lol

  • @KatsRDaBestNY Her Smile is sooo creepy!

  • @gaypigeon1 lol I know hahaha!

  • Thank u so much for posting this movie. I was 9 when it came out and I never forgot it!! There should be a remake.

  • The music is beautiful.

  • OMG i just got mind f***ed. that was some creepy shit 0_0

  • I loved this movie my sis and i were tormented by it for years. "I loved her" those words and her face scared us for weeks after seeing it. We were about the same age as Mary at the time so imagine.

  • The part where Mary keeps saying over and over that she loved Jennifer made me cry ...

  • Comment removed

  • Apparently the 1973 film, "Don't be Afraid of the Dark" is even scarier!!! Hmm...that is one film that should be watched during the day, just like Stephen King's It!!!!! :-O

  • Just googled "Don't go to sleep" and stumbled across a website that is selling the DVD version for $7.75 (shipping $5.00) at: ioffer.com, or: amazon.com for $45.88!!!!! A bit steep for the VHS but you can always copy it onto DVD. Hope this helps!! :-)

  • That was a good movie. I love Valerie Harper!

  • Creepy movie. I'd love if there was a second part in which the mother was haunted by the spirit of Jennifer and Mary had to fight it , because it is clear that Jennifer's spirit stops haunting mary to start haunting their mother.

  • I remember seeing this film as a child myself back in the 80's and it has stayed with me all that time, approx 28 years! It has had a lasting impression as one of those films that you never forget! Simply brilliant and was only ever made for TV......someone should bring this back to the TV or please release on DVD!

  • brilliant film, defos takes me back. pity it`s not on dvd

  • brilliant film, defos takes m back. pity it`s not on dvd

  • I loved this movie as a child! It was so scary!

  • Thanks so much for uploading this. I just KNOW it's not available on dvd, these eighties tv classics rarely are. I always remembered it, the ghost of the girl winking at the end at her mum and the father's electrocution. They just don't make them like that anymore. Just had a look in the hope that someone had uploaded it. Many thanks again!

  • I vaguely remember details of this movie, but that it scared the shit out of me. The one scene I do remember was the little girl looking under her bed (I think) and seeing her dead sister rolling over and winking at her.

  • @kerrybear76 Me too! That is the one scene that haunted me....I was scared to look under my bed for years lol

  • this movie scared the crap out of me and i still have the crap that came out of me in a plasticbag

  • @mexicanmex lol

  • Kristin Cumming (Jennifer) was such a pretty little girl. I wonder if she is still acting?

  • @scorpietta

I wonder if she's still cumming?

  • this was awsome finding it ive been looking for yrs all over for this movie i saw it as a child n it just stood with me ty soo much for uploading it :d

  • OMG the hairs on my arms just stood straight up on the last frame of this movie! I swear, it was 25+ years ago that i saw this movie and it still freaks me out. So glad i got to see it again as it is not available on dvd :( btw, i still try not to look at the foot of my bed at night when it is dark...

  • The actress playing Mary was so cute.............too bad her career didn't really take off after this. I THINK she did a Colgate commercial about a year later, but don't quote me on that. After that, she kind of disappeared.

  • Anyone else watching this wearing headphones noticing the audio switches channels ever part? and whos the psychiatrist that examines here? she's kinda hot

  • Well that settles it. I'm never falling asleep in the car next to my sister again.

  • I have been searching for this movie for years. The car accident (when she ties her sister's shoelaces& & the psycho-ward scene haunt me. The rest of the movie is a bit different than what I remembered. I must have been like 7 or 8 when I saw this movie and I still remember it. I've been reading all the comments and I am glad that I am not the only one that was affected by this movie :-)

  • thanks for posting, really enjoyed watching this again. havent seen it for years.

  • I remember seeing this when I was a little kid. It scared the crap out of me

  • man that ending always gave me the screaming willies!

  • Thanks for posting. I'm yet another that saw this as a kid, and got spooked by it. Although I remember the crash scene the same, yet slightly different. Seemed scarier in my memories. ;) I didn't know or understand the dad was drunk... and I thought the van they ran into was racing another van. Crazy.

  • include me with the long list of people who saw this when they were young. awesome stuff. they don't make em like they used too.

  • Great ending!

  • THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!!! Haven't seen it since it came out! It was fun! Certainly not as scary as I remembered! BUT I LOVED IT!!! Actually...I am GLAD I have grown -up some and it didn't scare me like it did. GREAT GHOST STORY!!!

  • Btw....It's funny because if you pause at the 7:06 mark and look at the bottom left hand of the screen at the house addess you will see that it says "666".

  • @taekwon3000 : In fact, the complete address is "13666"...brrr cursed*2!

  • WOW I Finally found this movie after all these years. I even forgot the name and just today decided to google random words dealing with the movie and I found it. I remember watching this when I was in third grade.

  • @taekwon3000 Thats how I found it as well."girls ghost hiding under bed"-I love the Internet!

  • All the child actors in this movie were very effective in their roles. Creepy and understated - great TV chiller!

  • Oh and i think that little girl jennifer was probably a spoild little biitch when she was alive. They treated her like she was perfect, but she was clearly not seeing that scene when she was in the car and was picking on Mary as if shes taughting her like "Haha everyone likes me and nobody pays attention to you, i never get in trouble"

  • When i was about 6 years old the power went out at my house while i was watching scooby-doo. It was a crazy storm so it was out for awhile, when it came on this movie was on at the part with the pizza cutter going up the stairs, my mom quicky turned the channel. It has haunted me forever, not knowing what movie it was. Im soo glad i googled "Pizza cutter moving on stairwell movie" and i barely found it.

  • I hate how you see a ghost or get possesed and yet they throw you in a mental asylum when u proberly could talk to the dead

  • This film used to give me nightmares.. still does!

  • two scenes came back to me from my childhood: the frisbee/rooftop scene and the radio/bathtub scene... things you thought you totally forgot. The directors back then (not just for TV-only directors) knew how to shock and scare without gore, they used this thing called anticipation, expectation, imagination, something modern directors could learn a lesson from.

  • awesome movie! a beginning quite long but awesome! i m 24 and i guess i saw it on tv in the earlier of 90's ^^ i didn't know what was the title, i only find the movie in googlizing " sister 's tying shoelace 's sister in car that explode" haha and it works! thanks for uploading!

  • Just like so many other people, I saw this movie when I was a kid - about 25 years ago - and the little girl with the creepy smile popping up at the end of the bed has stuck with me all that time. We didn't see alot of Jennifer before she died, but I wonder if she was an evil little devil spawn even then?? For anyone who thought that Mary was just crazy or imagining everything, I guess having Jennifer show up in her mom's room kind of killed that theory.

  • this movie is so creepy.great 4 a tv movie

  • I demand a remake. The psychological elements in this movie made it so creepy. Nothing beats a family tragedy and evil children.

  • @fallenanakin All re-makes suck! This movie is great the way it is!

  • Wow! I was in 3rd grade when I saw this back in 1982 on ABC. I've always thought about this movie because it freaked the hell out of me--and it still does today!!!

    Ah man, Valerie Harper rules!

    Thanks for posting this, Sir!

  • MAN this STILL makes me jump, I knew what was going to happen as a kid because I have seen it so many times, and it still freaks me out!! And the acting the little girls does is soo good.

  • thnx much.

  • That extreme close up on Valarie Harper's face right before the credits rolled freaked the heck out of me.

  • thanks for the upload

  • I remember watching this late one night as a kid...and that girl's face scared the shit out of me!

  • In regards to my earlier coment about J and M's attire, I meant early eropean dress. Also, I would just like to say that Mary is a jerk. Not because she tied her sister's shoes together, but because she later slammed the door in her sister's face as she was screaming for help.

  • @genungapearl Mary may have been wrong, but I have a problem with ANY parent who escapes danger without trying to help their kids reach safety as well. Phillip and Laura treated the kids like an afterthought.

  • @genungapearl

I disagree with the "Mary is a jerk" comment. Just hear me out, Mary was very young & had no idea that it was dangerous to leave her sister in there. Mary finally wanted jennifer to do something for herself, to get out of the "knot" by herself & get out. Mary was tired of living in her sisters shadow, jennifer never had to do anything for herself & had everything handed to her. Given the fact that Mary didnt know it was dangerous she just wanted her to finally do things herself

  • Did girls really dress like that in the early eighties, those are some interesting looks Jennifer and Mary are sporting, kind of a northern european thing going on.

  • "I did not understand that ending."

The mother is now being haunted by her daughter Jennifer and as a result might become a murderer too.

  • I did not understand that ending.

  • Тупой конец но фильм хороший

  • I remember watching this as a kid and the ending scared the bjesus out of me!!!!!

  • @RUCRAZY08 yeah same here i slept in with my parants after watching this ages ago lolz

  • @RUCRAZY08 me too

  • @RUCRAZY08 I just remember the boy falling off the roof towards his death. My dad was watching this back in 1989

  • @RUCRAZY08 I am an adult and this movie still creeps me out.

  • Great movie, thanks for posting.

  • This film has one of the scariest endings EVER seen.

  • nice kiddo :)
