  • @ArtcoreOfLs mmmm can't remember the brand name... I don't have this knife at this house atm, but it's just a traditional chef knife

  • I know your not Vietnamese but some Vietnamese rice noodle dishes would be nice :D

  • @emiiidesu: haha yeah it does look similar. & thanks! :) can you please tell me what the color of your jacket is in this video. thanks again!

  • the squid dish looks very good. have you tried the stuffed squid at ebisu?

  • @dieselbox604 Hmm the one in Van? No, I haven't... maybe I should make the 12 hr drive and go try it... but only if its mind blowingly awsome ^o^

  • is that a green zine hoodie?

  • Hi, I'm a new subscriber and I'm liking your cokking videos a lot. Much like Taro's videos. Anyway, I wanted to know what video camera you use. Great quality!

  • @EaglesStir I use Panasonic 14.1MP Digital Camera (DMCZS10A)

Btw thanks for subbing! I'll try to make a new video soon, I'm just swamped with marking and lesson planning ToT... and I don't think my caffeine addiction is helping! lol

  • looks great :-)

if you turn the squid inside-out it will sort of close itself while cooking,

so the toothpicks may be skipped.

    keep them coming!

  • marry me? no really, marry me?

  • I'd love to see your take on some western food. Mostly because the ingrediense for asian/japanese cooking is hard to come by in northern Sweden. But I'll watch what ever you upload :)

  • taro brought me here

  • Sooo...approximately how long does all of this actually take?

  • @BouncerYan mmmmmm maybe like 5 min prep, 10 + min for cooking pork and stuff, 5 min or so for stuffing the squid, then 20 min for baking

  • @emiiidesu ああ!すごいよ!ありがとうEmiーさん~

Heh, sorry, I've been learning japanese for the past month and thought I'd talk in japanese for simple sentences like that, lol. But seriously, that looks pretty good for something made in less than an hour. Do you know how to make cheesecake? Cuz like, everytime I do it, it always ends up looking dry and have cracks on the surface :S

  • @BouncerYan Umm I kind of stay away from dairy cuz im lactose intolent, so I haven't made one before. Usually cracks happen if the cake cools too fast or the cake pan wasn't well greased (so cracks form when the cake pulls away from the pan). You could try cooking it in a baine marie, the water will keep the cooking temp even, also it will create moisture so the cake won't form a skin and crack.

  • @BouncerYan To fix it, I would suggest you put some whip cream on top with some berries or shave some chocolate to make curls - you can use this for cakes that sink in the middle as well. Your guests would be none the wiser :)

  • damn, that looks delicious.

  • @jakesinjapan dam she looks delicious

  • thats an awesome way to julian carrots! so much easier!

  • ONE WORD....... AWESOMECUTE

  • yum! yum! yum!!! ^^

  • You snuck those green onions in there. I was wondering what the green stuff was until i read the ingredients list.

  • this looks so good, you seem like a really good chef :)

btw, i heard somewhere tht to avoid squid from being chewy you either almost don't cook it at all (1-2 mins on each side max) or very, very long on low heat. hope this helps ^-^

  • I get a chill in the spine every time that knife gets dragged across the board. I'm told it's not great for the edge, and have used the back of the knife for such purposes ever since.

Best of luck to your family!

  • Japanese styled would be nice!

  • I love your cooking asian cooking you have great talent keep up the great work you should definetly persue a cooking career.

  • EMIIDESU..... おもしろい

  • I definitely want to see you make the kind of foods you ate while growing up. What kind dishes feel like 'home' to you?

Also, I like your knife cuts! Your julienne looks good. You also cut your garlic just like we are taught in culinary school. It's a lot faster than what they call "monkey chopping," plus they're all uniform.

Also, also, I never thought about putting stuff like mushroom mixes in my rice. I'm going to have to start doing that more often. Love the vid, can't wait to see more.

  • i love your japanese food its so easy!

  • all ur food will be tasted great if you're the one who making it.

  • OMG.....SHE CAN COOK!

  • 12:39 *shit* "oh... oopsy" lol. Nice save ahaha :D. Can't believe I watched the whole 14 minutes. The mushroom rice looks good. I didn't know they sell pre-slice mushrooms in bags. Thanks for the video.

  • @GetDamage I hope you post more videos. My second request will be Japanese cooking. :) or Korean.

  • Wow, 14 minutes is pretty long. Most youtube viewers have short attention spend...

  • @GetDamage I know >_<" but I don't know how to make it any shorter :(

  • @emiiidesu you can shorten it by not showing how to cut carrots, mashrooms, etc. things that are very straight forward to do or common sense.

  • @tutukevin good point !

  • @emiiidesu May I request for Korean cooking videos :)

  • @emiiidesu Windows live movie maker, or Macbooks also have a video editing software. Pretty easy to use. I'm sure youtube has many videos explaining how to use them XD. GL

  • @13ouncer Yea I use the former. I think I just ramble on, so that's why my videos get long :(

  • Can I request you do Cambodian food? There isn't any cooking channel on Cambodian cooking.

  • @GetDamage I'll try! I've never had Cambodian food before so it might go horribly wrong lol ;p

  • @emiiidesu lol. sounds entertaining...I would watch it. you have good knife skills. I see western influence. French cutting style.

  • @emiiidesu Just to let you know, if you never had Cambodian food before it's not the easiest dish to make but if you need some pointers on what dishes to make, I'll be more than happy to offer you a few dishes and recipes ^_^

  • I would love to see more Japanese style recipes. I love Japanese food cus its so simple but packs tons of flavor :D

  • awesome knife skills

and great cooking vid and i seriously learned a lot from it it really helped me a lot since i'm a uni student whom is living and cooking by myself as well =P

i would love it if you cooked more japanese dishes in the future

thanks again for making all these cooking vids

  • for the squid, you should make square slits to make it less chewy

  • mexican style! ariba ariba

  • Japanese Style would be great

  • OMFG how old are you??? you chop like my mom !1 O___O

    (that's a compliment)

  • was that your doggy at the front?

  • Wow now I want to eat some squid. I love squid but its hard to get people here to eat it. I'm not sure if it's because its generally chewy or if it is over the fact that it is a squid. Their loss I guess.

  • I PREFER jaPANESE STYLE FOR SURE!!! HOPEFULLY everythiNG WILL GET BETTER IN JAPAN, GOD BLESS YOU!

  • tamago-sensei :)

  • make japanese style

  • Comment removed

  • wow you're so cool. i wish i could cut like that

  • That looks so good.

  • i dunno why but i find your choping skill very profesionally done!!

  • UR SOOOO CUTE.LOVE YOU.

  • u r cute

  • Mainly jap but asian & western every now and then!

  • I love how you handle your knife and wipe it with your fingers when you are done cutting ;)

    cute :3

i love your way of cooking.. i like recipes that have an asian touch to them - or are asian - japanese based but to me it seems that you make it a little more western, which is great so I can recreate the recipes.

i love the japanese asian recipes but having a hard time finding the ingredients :(

    soooo...

asian style recipes with western touch are great.

    fusion cuisine FTW! :)

  • i'm definitely going to try this! looks so delicious! my mom makes her own version of stuffed squid (something she just thought up of on her own so when i saw this i was like no way! haha) and i've always loved it. she uses ground pork as well mixed with vermicelli noodles and green onions, and salt, sugar, and black pepper for flavor. mmm... ok gotta stop food dreaming now. thanks for the vid! :) and glad your family is okay and hopefully your uncle is as well!

  • any countries recipe would be fine as long as it's tasty! and if you would post more..

  • think filling a plastic bag with the mixture, cutting the corner and then piping it in might be faster and cleaner

  • @MissExecutive YES! That would be a brilliant idea !

  • Awesome recipe! But yea, it would be awesome if you could do the mixture of both!

  • haha I julienne oblong veggies the same way.. can't be bothered the proper way most of the time.. I'm not going for a michelin star with my homecooked stuff. :P

Modern Japanese stuff would be good! maybe more wafu/fusion style stuff.

  • Desserts, fushion style! or something like Epicmealtime! Lol. :) Excellent Chopping skill.

  • more asian but a little western now and then wouldn't be so bad

  • Until you mentioned glutinous rice, I was disappointed 'cause I'm pescetarian. xD

    Sounds yummy. :3

  • I'll take a detention if you're supervising. :P

  • Japanese style would be nice but if you can, could you please make a mix of both Japanese and Western style? Thanks! ^_^
