one small comment. Nice job overall, but if you learn some ergonomics; where you actually place your drums (ie: cymbal height vs length of your arms etc.) you will be astonished at a) how much faster you can be and b) how much less effort it takes. There are drummers that set up efficiently and those that set up to "look" cool. Take a look at a few Buddy Rich vids 1978 concert @ 61 yrs old and notice how he maximizes the kit to his body. Keep up the good work!
@Rexillo1830 Well here's how it's done. I do four on top and two on the bottom. Hands: R L R L Feet: R L Hands: R L R L Feet: R L
Once that pattern becomes easier to do, start speeding it up. To where it sounds like a six stroke roll with both the hands and feet. Hope that helps. Keep Rockin' JOEDRUMS2112
Hey Joe! Great drums! Its awesome that you still have them! I recently picked up a nice set of Tama Artstar ES drums. I'm sure you probably remember them. I'll be holding onto them for years! Great sizes and everything, almost like a flashback to the 80's/90's! haha.
@FighterOfFoo284 Yea I really like TAMA a lot too. The Artstar kits by TAMA were definitely a beast to recon with. I had already gotten the Superstar series when the Artstars first come out. Simon Philips had them and many other artist at the time. Thanks for watching, Keep Rockin' JOEDRUMS2112
Well I got that kit in 1983. The guy at the store where I purchased them always told me that those were maple and not birch. He may have been wrong, but they are very light weight and I know birch is a lot heavier wood. Thanks for watching.
It used to be in the basement where the video was shot. Yea the paneling has sound proof insulation behind it as well. It's really the only way to go. The neighbors love it as well. Hahaha.
Going Bald doesn't bother me like some guys. I actually like it. I still grow hair on the sides of my head, but I shave it off so it looks more even. My brother is a barber and he always told me if you shave your whole head it looks more even. Otherwise I would look like Bozo The Clown. Hair on both sides and nothing in the middle. Ya know. Hahaha. : )

What time period did Tama make these drums? By my understanding they usually come in Birch. Also, what are the specs of this drumset sizes and all?

Where did you keep this set, Joe? :)
Is the wood panneling stuff for sound insulation? I've got something like this going.
You were still rocking back then!
