ps1, if i recall correctly, was quite a bit smaller than the old school ps2, xbox, xbox360, and ps3. the only consoles that are smaller is the wii and the ps2 slim. andi dont recall a wii ever overheating. what i believe is the answer is actually that they keep using the same old heat sinks or moderatly updated,but still out of date, ones. along with fans etc... dont worry tho im pretty sure the next consoles coming out are gonna be watercooled and will virtually never overheat.

I guarantee they won't be water cooled. Disregarding price, it still makes no sense. Water cooling requires a radiator, which is added mass and volume.

Wii's never overheat cause they have no power on the gpu to create high graphic like on the xbox 360 and thats why it feels like playing playstation 2 as the Wii accept it The Xbox 360 is sligthy more powerfull on the gpu and cpu and thats why it needs cooling just for info

Just to let you know, that core cooler doesn't work as well as people say it does. Mine still overheated and then started giving me the 3RROD. But I fixed that by using an exteranl fan (and removed the old one). Then I did the X-Clamp fix because that didn't work either. After that, everything works great now (although I used a lot of duct tape and card board to get the external fan to work <_<). The damn thing blasts out heat now (and I fix the air flow problem to the GPU as well)

let me give u an idiot proof idea to cooling the xbox 360, buy Intec Cooling Station, it blows air inside the 360, and goes to the cpu and gpu because the back of the console is already sucking the heat out redirecting it to go to the gpu and cpu and out the back, its idiot proof and doesnt void ur warrenty and it doesnt take power from the 360 it has its own power source.
