This kind of PK experiment is very old and kind of worn out by now. Houdini stumped a committee of the Royal Society (of Britain) with a similar ruse, only he used fleas instead of convection! Aside from the cheating aspect, though, it does make an important point: it's really quite hard, when doing a delicate experiment, to rule out potential sources of "noise." The late, lamented cold fusion experiments are a case in point.
This was good up to a point. But when you accused me of switching the needle for a toothpick, you blew it completely. If the needle looks wider in one shot, it's due to the direct lighting from the heater and the zoom on the camera. Of course, all the viewers have to do is test it for themselves. Likewise with your claims about radiation from a lamp. I stand by my experiments.
