I love the alien blaster ; the crappy part bout it is u only get the ammo that comes with it . I recommend u not use it on just anyone but rather on deathclaws & giant radscorpions . Those things drove me insane in F3 when I only had the regular ammo ; now I have the alien blaster & 1 shot & BOOM they turn to ashes

Which one do you suggest the alien blaster or the YCS138. Becsause you can get one or the other but not both.

@flaredragon16 Personally, I'd go with the YCS/186, just because of the fact that the ammo it uses can be found elsewhere, while the Alien Blaster's ammo cells are LIMITED, the 140-250 cells you find on the Alien Captain are the ONLY ONES in the game. Also, the YCS can be repaired with normal Gauss Rifles, while the Alien Blaster needs to be brought to a merchant. (The Weapon Repair Kit may work on it, I haven't tried that yet)

accually there is randomly place ammo for that gun all over new vagas, i found a couple of places where there were 5-12 cells scattered on the ground. its easier to find them at night cuz they glow bright blue

Didn't Bethesda let Obsidian use Mothership Zeta weapons? I mean, they did use other DLC stuff in New Vegas, why not the Alien Atomizer or Disignerator? Why would aliens use Laser Pistols? They could at least let them all have Alien Blasters, but maybe turn down the weapons' health a bit so the Courier doesn't end up with three Alien Blasters in perfect condition...

there is an easier way to get it. if you stay far away and shot the head alien with a sniper then he will come and attack you and his friends wont. then you can pick it up and go right next to one of the aliens
