Uh it's like a mix of cantering and trotting, Watch how the horse moves, and actually pinpoint every little detail. Incorporate that into your film and BINGO!
actually, thats cantering because the horse's front right and back left hit at the same time, if it was galloping, it would be back right, back left, front right, front elft
@GottaHaveMyHorse Yes, but in some countries a canter is called a gallop. There is no canter. it's like how sometimes when u ride western a canter is called a lope.
@BoomerMyBaby yeah but a lope is different from a canter, all horses can canter, lope is like a delayed version... kind of lazy looking, but its actually not. So, your comparison is incorrect. My rope coach always asks me to circle canter, circle lope and switch back and forth, it feels different and is (technically) the same footing in a different way.
@BoomerMyBaby actually canter is diffrent from lope, the leading leg in a canter (so on the correct lead this leg comes further out than other front leg) is independent and is smooth whereas the other front leg does a little bit of a hop to catch up with the lead leg. Its slower, not necessarily collected just slow motion (kind of). a canter is an active 3 beat stride which differs from the lope by having both lead and non-lead legs active and lifting equally as high from the ground.
@TheRobynandColeTeam Sorry but you are kinda wrong. But you are also kinda right. They are the same exact gait but western is correct a different slower but the horse rides it the same way. It is different than a colllected canter but it is the same thing. It is not an extra gait. But I understand what you mean, but technically it is the same gait.
@BoomerMyBaby which is really what i just said, many however, recognize the canter different from a lope. My coach always tells me to circle lope, circle canter... it feels different and looks different. same 3 beat, same leg progression its just ridden and done a little different. Most western riders will argue that its a different gait... (although yes, its not different)... it depends on how you ride and what terms you are accustomed to. hence why i said 'the same footing in a diff way'
Aaawww, that's cute. If I could offer a tip, maybe you should make the horse's body stretch a bit more and for the legs to move into a proper gallop gait. I'm really bad at horses myself, but I'd rather give you a tip than send a comment like the others down below.
Dude who cares if a lope is different from a canter! The horses are moving that's all that matters!

great! I've got only one objection, horse should also move it's head, but anyway it's very impressive.
