For a second, maybe about the door to door part, however more than just them go door to door. He's talking about religion in general I feel, how in the song he feels he's reading the same book with a different name (aka all the major religions stemming back to babylonian times, near 10 total) all telling the story of what we know today as the bible, and jesus' "story". Everyone is so hung up on arguing about meaningless details (like "did jesus/god exist?") and miss the point/moral of the story
