I use Ubuntu 10.10 and it runs VERY fast, originally the computer came with Windows xp, then after a few weeks I upgraded to Windows 7, Started getting the blue screen of death a lot... Then I called microsoft and cussed them out for about an hour, Then realized, HEY! I could've just installed Linux for free... WINDOWS/MICROSOFT SUCKS FAT ASS NUT!
yup driver issue, from a third party company, that wasn't designed to work with win 7 since your using an evaluation copy and win 7 was out when you did this. man atleast your iq is low enough to run a mac.
a BSoD occurs when hardware isn't working right, either your hardware is broken or your driver which is likely since you are running a pre-release version
The release version is fine, internet explorer is still buggy as hell but its rarely used. I love my mac, the way that even when theres 100 programs running its still smooth and never jumps, but i love the way i can customise my windows. (btw my windows machine has a really old processor, hence the badness, my friends decent pc is fine.)
I have a problem with win media center .. my desctop is instead of programs the windows symbol . and if i go to ´´start´´ ther is always the same symbol . its not bad but ... if i click it it comes windows media center and not the program i choosed .. can some one heeeelp meee ??????? pleeeeeease i only can go to firefox -.-please !
Creative makes nice hardware, but some of their software sucks. It has always been that way. I still have to shut down Creative services on XP when the memory leaks take over. Can't tell if he is trying to use a Vista driver on 7.

No Windows version will ever be as stable, secure, or fast as a Mac or Linux computer-we all know it. Windows 7 is the same speed as Vista, and I performed defrags hourly and did all recommended maintenance tips. It still crashes ALL the time, isnt any more secure. Ok, youre upset over what appears to be a hardware/driver issue while running either a pre-release version of 7 or an non-licensed version of 7. If its pre-released you shouldn't be upset with issues... theres a reason it hadn't been released yet. If youre not licensed, then no updates, and thats that. Also, the original phenom processors dont have the best reputation, especially if overclocked which judging by the other specs, is almost safe to assume you were doing.
ok man from 1 user to another I had a problem with creative sound card and asus mainboard, I resolved this issue by simply using the custom hardware download from windows update, be sure to uninstall the device before you update and its in custom/ optional /hardware. I triedto reply to threads online but the forum registration was hanging up ?
If you think windows 7 Sucks, then try something different. Its not like there are no alternatives out there! Ubuntu works for me, check it out. Its free so if you dont like it, you can just get Windows back on.

no windows 7 doesn't run Dos underneath the graphics. windwos stopped running dos in the background since Windows ME. Xp was NT Based. Vista and windows 7 are both NT based to aome extent. But Windows vista Kernel was made from scratch. and windows 7 Kernel (Win-Min) is different from the vista kernel, but works in kinda the same way, but is closer to unix...
It drives me nuts when people see a windows 7 commercial and act like its the second coming of christ. A couple minutes of research will show you that windows 7 has solved very few of the problems vista had. Yes, its better, but its still slow, inconvenient, aggravating, and unstable.

Im not saying PCs are useless crap, I own a custom built gaming rig, but I would never even think to use it for anything other than gaming, because it is unreliable and installing the apps I need would slow it down (registry) not to mention viruses. I use the PC for gaming and the mac for everything else, with the exception of gaming I cant think of anything PC does better than mac.
@arf900 1199 is the basline price for the imac, and it doesnt even come close to the specs of a pc you could build for that money, or buy in some cases, i honestly dont get the whole virures thing i mean ive run an internet secuirty suite and nver had a problem and what programs are you installing that would make it slow down? but if you like mac better thats cool its your preferance
Installing programs in general on a PC slows it down, just filling the registry affects performance.
The imac does not have great specs, but OSX is not a resource hungry and you dont need as much power, now you might run into some performance problems on bootcamp, but even then the imac has decent hardware. As far as security suites go, they tend to be performance hogs, and slow down your browsing. Macs have many other advantages too, performance isnt everything.
@arf900 on xp i had problems with it slowing down, windows does have a problem with that, norton security suites used to on my older machines but the i7 hardly anything resources are being used but imean i have crap loads of programs, games and the adobe suite installed on mine and i dont notice any slow down, granted most of it is on my ssd, but still, performance isnt everythign unless your doing performance related tasks but for me the pros outweigh the cons for the pc

I brought my MacBook over for christmas showed her some of the cool things I could do in Aperture with some photos we took, i toured her around iTunes, explained to her that you don't have to constantly be running maintenance software like antivirus and defrag and she ended up getting an iMac.

no windows 7 doesn't run Dos underneath the graphics. windwos stopped running dos in the background since Windows ME. Xp was NT Based. Vista and windows 7 are both NT based to aome extent. But Windows vista Kernel was made from scratch. and windows 7 Kernel (Win-Min) is different from the vista kernel, but works in kinda the same way, but is closer to unix...

It drives me nuts when people see a windows 7 commercial and act like its the second coming of christ. A couple minutes of research will show you that windows 7 has solved very few of the problems vista had. Yes, its better, but its still slow, inconvenient, aggravating, and unstable.

Im not saying PCs are useless crap, I own a custom built gaming rig, but I would never even think to use it for anything other than gaming, because it is unreliable and installing the apps I need would slow it down (registry) not to mention viruses. I use the PC for gaming and the mac for everything else, with the exception of gaming I cant think of anything PC does better than mac.

Installing programs in general on a PC slows it down, just filling the registry affects performance.
The imac does not have great specs, but OSX is not a resource hungry and you dont need as much power, now you might run into some performance problems on bootcamp, but even then the imac has decent hardware. As far as security suites go, they tend to be performance hogs, and slow down your browsing. Macs have many other advantages too, performance isnt everything.

@arf900 on xp i had problems with it slowing down, windows does have a problem with that, norton security suites used to on my older machines but the i7 hardly anything resources are being used but imean i have crap loads of programs, games and the adobe suite installed on mine and i dont notice any slow down, granted most of it is on my ssd, but still, performance isnt everythign unless your doing performance related tasks but for me the pros outweigh the cons for the pc

I brought my MacBook over for christmas showed her some of the cool things I could do in Aperture with some photos we took, i toured her around iTunes, explained to her that you don't have to constantly be running maintenance software like antivirus and defrag and she ended up getting an iMac.
