un jour quand j'étais gosse, j'ai recopié le texte pour l'emmener en cours de français. On devait ramener un texte qu'on aimait afin de discuter de ce dernier. En écoutant le texte, la prof n'a rien dit et on est passé à autre chose. Le lendemain, ma mère était convoquée au bahut. To me getting to know Brigitte Fontaine was through Art Ensemble of Chicago, one of my favorite Free Jazz bands.

Wow its so strange how you came to hear this record. I was in a Jazz cafe in Kyoto last week called Pignose, the owners nickname. He played this song for me and told me it was his wifes favourite. It gave me that very same feeling.

He also played for me an album he actually produced in 1973 by a Japanese Artist called Asakawa Maki called Uramado (Rear Window) I recommend it. Great great guy, he even took me out for Ramen afterwards. He also played a Mal Waldron album for me called Left alone.

Maki's got some great albums, if you liked her you should definitely check out the live DVD that's out there. Later years ('84 I believe) but still absolutely amazing.

I can't believe I'd never heard this song before, I'd only heard Fontaine's later, weirder electronic work with her husband and had no idea that she was this experimental throughout her career.
