Well, when I was a kid I used cheats a lot. Usually it was only God Mode. Took hours. Especially a long time when I went to the Mine Areas because I Always got lost there.
Less than a day however long it is though, however if you try to save ammo and health, and aren't the best at dodging it could take a lot longer. I did play through it without cheats and almost beat the game. I could probably beat it on my first try now though.

The HUD is not from the standard PC version, but it could also be from a mod so dunno.

No not really the AI isn't all that good and one only really needs to dodge behind corners, fire a few shots and dodge back while they shoot at you.
