HUD or any other housing or apartment are required by law to allow services dogs into the residence without fees- i use a guide dog who is also a seizure alert dog. The service dog would need to be trained by an institution or training center. Most programs allow for the owner to input ideas and special requirements you need the dog to do for you.

I was wondering if HUD housing will allow service dogs into their apartments? I also am a handicapped person with a mental disability with seizures. What are the qualifications for a dog to become a seizure dog? Can they be trained by the owner or do they have to be professionally trained?
