The system it self was assembled in Japan, By the way you moron, when such devices make their way to places like America, they undergo inspection from manufacturing dealers before they go up on the shelves you moron, If manufacturers didn't do that, there would be alot of pissed of consumers wanting a refund for a fake item that burned out the same day it was bought! It was MADE in China, but it wasn't developed or designed in China, the develop and design were form Japan... but indeed, it was made in china... I took out the battery pack and checked the specs engraved underneath.

honestly, the things people presume, psp (the idea) was made in japan however like alot of companys sony outsources its assembly to poorer areas of the world so they can reap the profit, it seems confusing but basically these poorer areas need money and therefore will accept just about anything

Only the newer PSPs (mine included) are made in China. My brother's GF's PSP is made in Japan as it's a really early model.

Um, a lot of things are constructed in china, it is an in dustrial run country, everythings manufactured. The PSP was DESIGNED in Japan, and the Chinese get the IKEA instructions to put together 1000 a day.

popstations may be worth swapping the insides with a PSP if it's possible, I don't got a popstation so I don't know.

But if it is, could you imagine? you could purchase a popstation cheap, then purchase a PSP, swap the insides and return the "nonworking" psp for a refund. meanwhile, in what looks like a popstation, you can play PSP!!! think about it!!
