@stefan0z Sounds very much like a professionally produced synth preset/sample. Fairly simple really, but it will take some very careful envelope tweaking, and cutoff modulation of a high pass filter to get really close.
@Corvid I created this sound on the Korg MS20 by Korg Legacy collection. The initial pach is called sign lead, on Legacy Cell, modified, equalized. will post a video soon. XD
@DerBestrafer Epic, where did you find them? I know Flake uses spectrasonics symphony of voices a lot, I'll buy that at some point, looks seriously nice!
@DerBestrafer Absolutely! Great isn't it! My jaw dropped when I found Absynth Beach! There's a whole set of sampling CDs Flake uses with his keyboard, great finding the Rammstein samples on them.
@DerBestrafer Eh, not many unless you own an Ensoniq ASR-10... not the kinda keyboard you'd buy unless you really wanted to make some serious Industrial/Hip-Hop/Dance or something! Pain to run, and it takes a few months to learn. Flake mainly uses samples, but the odd softsynth too. We'll just have to wait till their next album!
There's some wicked sounds for it though, I'll put some up in the next few months, doing some Rammstein covers with a friend of mine who's an experienced guitarist.
@H057IL3 As far as I know, it doesn't exist, Flake made it himself. There are plenty like it, it's a sine wave with reverb, not much else. I made this one using a modular software synthesizer. That said, Flake does use a ton of samples/patches/presets. All the choirs, strings, brass, sound effects, and even some synths are commercially available samples. Great fun finding them! Try downloading the demo of the NI Massive synth, play the patch called DXologie. Familiar much? :D
@H057IL3 Maaaan, not heard their new album? Open up Massive on the DXologie patch and press: M M M M M M M M 5 5 5 5 E E E E on your computer keyboard. Well, don't unless you've heard Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da!
@ClownFuneral Errr, not sound wise, makes no sound :D
Programming-the-damn-thing wise, you'll absolutely need the software to do anything like setting MIDI channels, program changes, etc, it's typical old-school Roland, the manual is crap for anyone other than Roland technicians...
Search "roland a33 software" on google, should be the first link. Saves a shit ton of time.
@ClownFuneral Oh, and another one if you're using batteries. You can check the battery level by pressing "EDIT", then "12 MIDI/PARAM", then the 2 button, and the 7 button (so type 27), then hold enter. The lights go down right to left starting at the bottom as you use the batteries.
@inuamaru Again, this is a synthesizer patch. It's fairly simple though, so if you've got a keyboard look for a sound with "sine" in the name. The sound is literally just a "sine" wave, with portamento and reverb.
How do you want the notes? In keyboard "tab" (i.e. A, C#, D)? I'll have to include the number too, it's played over 3 octaves, so "C" isn't going to get you far, there are 8 C's on a piano!
@Corvid Well yeah, There are. But if we're musicians I'm sure we got 'some' aural skills to pick out what pitch the certain note is. If you play a C and choose any C on the keyboard, most likely you know where abouts that C is.
@Zat0ishi You'd be surprised! I've heard many a version of Feuer Frei playing with some horrific octave differences, or just over on octave! Plus a version of the Engel intro which a 5 year-old could have pick out better! That, said, you're right, most musicians (amateur or not) can work it out anyway!
@uberandy666 Basically, using a synthesizer. Just about any synthesizer should be able do that, but I used a modular software synth. Or you could use an Ensoniq ASR-10, which is what Flake uses loads in the studio.
@uberandy666 For this? Nothing, I recorded the output of the synthesizer. But to actually MAKE music of my own (or rather record/mix it), I personally use a free version of Cubase which came with my USB audio interface. Does the job fine for now. If you're looking at getting anything, I'd strongly recommend hardware, or at least a software/hardware mix. Despite what people will say, hardware has that "feel" to it which spurs you on, though some people don't feel that way about hardware.
@Therammstein99999 I'm from the UK my friend! Just saw your videos, you've got THE most complete collection of Rammstein keyboard videos out there, good work man! And you play them properly too... it makes me cringe when someone plays something really simple like the intro to Engel and gets it totally and horrifically wrong! I've nearly finished doing the intro to Donaukinder, I'll send you a message when it's up.
you nailed this one!

i know this is a simple melody but can you write the notes in the right order here PALEEZZ?
equaleyez187 1 year ago
@equaleyez187 Ok, so if I write "C4 and C5" you know the difference yeah? I.e. MIDI notes, otherwise you'll end up playing the wrong notes.
Corvid 1 year ago
@Corvid if you mean one octave = C1D1E1F1G1A1B1C1, C2D2E2F2G2A2B2C2, ...
then YES :D. Don't PM write it here if you want i won't be the only one who'd like it. Thanks
equaleyez187 1 year ago
@Corvid F4, G4, G3, G2, D3, G3, C3, A4, A#4, A#3, A#2, F3, A#3, F3, D5, A3, D4, A3, A4, E3, A3, E3, A#4, A4, G4, F4, G4, D3, G3, D3
I think that's right, just make sure the F4 sounds the same as the song, I might have had the octave shift on when play it!
Corvid 1 year ago
that's one fucking nice synth you got there... Well done too !
