correct me if i am wrong, isn't even the idea of 'hak istemewa' melayu (malay special rights) a result of the implementation of the New Economic Policy (an affirmative action), a result of the 1969 rcae riots, and NOT part of the original Malaysian of Melayan constitution.

2. singapore separated in 1965 b4 the riot & b4 NEP.

One thing he said about the "founding fathers" though. I've heard this argued so many times but if the founding fathers really fought for justice, why did they formulate the hak istimewa just for the Malay poor and not also for the other backward communities?

I accept that perhaps the Chinese were rich enough, but surely the bulk of the Indians were still slaving in estates in poverty?
