  • did he give up on Jimi? He's more like a SRV clone here.

  • no cowbell... ??

  • Geeezz, he's even got 8x10 (8x12??) cabs!

  • I clicked on this vid. - I thought it was Hendrix, - still not sure if it is, - sounds very, VERY like the man.....

  • Randy's got soul. Likin' it!!

  • I love Randy!

  • Does anybody know what the pedal board arrangement is? If you do let me know . Thanks

  • @runrabbitrun4342 : The pedals are mentioned in the thread of one of the other videos posted my motorpsych0. Check Voodoo Child.

  • Once there was someone singing something like.... "and I ain´t gonna copy you". But it´s long ago...

  • @HermannRubartV Nicely said , nicely said..

  • I feel me in heaven when i am listening you Randy!

  • damn, the vocals are dead on. serious funk. awesome guys.

    long live jimi.

  • the guitar been fliped left handed

this would have been practicly flawless inpersonation!

  • the best guitarist alive

  • Wow!

  • The drummer is so so..

  • @Snotra so so as in he sucs lol

  • as close to the real thing as you can get.

  • @southparkboy119 so close it makes me wonder if he has a vocal processor or something ... great music!

  • I was at a Music trade fair in London in the mid 80's and Hanson was there. I'd never heard of him and for a second, I thought Jimi had been in hiding for 15 years. I stood and watched him demonstrate some kit (can't recall what) for 1/2 an hour. Totally gobsmacked me how authentic he is. You have to remember that there wasn't much footage available of Jimi back in those days as there is now, so to see some guy take him off visually/playing wise was incredible. Great to see he's still at it.

  • Now that's some balls out Strat/Marshall tone! Randy's playing is sooo friggin exciting man!!!

  • To me this is not an 'act' or 'tribute band' It's a serious exhibition and honest presentation of the music of Hendrix. Played true to the spirit and tone, and I'm glad Randy is doing it and more power to him!

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme : Agreed!

  • What is so amazing, Randy is and will be: Randy! He makes the music his own!

  • This is awesome. He has Hendrix down fantastically. Randy''s been doing his for a while. I saw him perform in a little club in Taunton, Massachusetts in 1979. At the beginning of the show, he jumped out of a coffin an onto the stage holding a guitar and put on a great Hendrix tribute show. He played so loud that my ears were still ringing when I woke up the next morning. It was a night to remember!

  • This is f*cking great!!

  • Randy also has his own music, and his show at Seattle Arena Haloween was awesome. I also saw him with Mitch Mitchell at local bar. Randy also did the Hendrix type guitar licks in the night scene where that one soldier was tripping in Apocalypse Now.

  • @rossbmarvin3rd ah so its randy that was playing on the radio in the Do Long bridge scene. by chance do u know the name of that song, coz from what u hear in apocalypse now, its sounds awesome!

  • @seanyb109 Sorry I dont know the name. He has a site here, and is pretty good about answering questions.

  • the only way to tell this is NOT Jimi, is the fact that he's not left handed.. this sounds rellay great..

this is more like a ressurection than an impersonation..

  • damn right!!! i mean his voice is even just like jimi, if jimi was watching this he would be like "MY MOTHER DIDNT TELL ME I HAD A TWIN!!!"

  • RANDY is the man! Awesome Jimi Hendrix impersonator, who play and sound like the real deal! It's so nice to know that Jimi's spirit lives on! Peace!

  • This is a real awesome copycat! Great!

  • Holy cr*p! This guy is SO close to Jimi!

  • Just killer!

  • muto massa esse cover do jimi hendrix

  • Yeah!good work man..great tribute to Jimi, good play and feel..!please i want put a video response of my version of this song..but this is REALLY good!greetings from ITALIA!

  • i seem him every year in germany (Lorsch) for me it is a day like christmas or my birthday :)

  • this guy looks so much like hendrix that i was like, woah, that's awsome xD, and he can play :D

  • Randy is really a great performer. Have seen him many times, he even wins over the skeptics who want to sit in the back with arms folded. Most shows end up with EVERYONE up front having fun. He's not taking it too seriously, just does a great job of the music and adds some fire from the moment to classic tunes...

  • Well put! Randy is the Best!

  • Sorry to correct you guys but: He's Right Handed playing a left handed strat which is strung right handed. he knows his stuff too. Nice cool, raw and clean sound....i'm a lefty and have a right hander with a left hand neck...i can appreciate these guys and the way they get to the high notes with the unconventional setup...cheers.

  • You are correct my friend. I am a lefty also. Excellent observation deeppurplerules.

  • If anyone wants to check out a RH original tune from 30 years ago I threw together a little RH slide show tribute... not tryin' to spam ya'll.. Go Randy Go!

  • Thats the KR mega vibe right? Very awesome univibe clone.. WOW amazing.. Wish you would come on down to Arkansas..

  • Yes, it is the KR Mega Vibe!!!!

Completely awesome pedal from Kevin R.!

  • but such

    epic playing

  • CHECK OUT THAT GRILL!!!

    lmfao.

  • wow,

    kinda looks like hendrix

    sounds like him too...

    hardcore hendrix fan here.

  • Yeah, but can he do it left handed???

  • Randy IS left handed!

  • OK then, why doesn't he PLAY left handed?

  • Is that really all that important? But again, he is left handed he's one of the few that has their stronger hand on the neck as opposed to picking etc.

  • Well if you're going to do a tribute, you should keep it real ...

Actually I was just joking. Randy is great. Why did YOU get so defensive? Is it really that important?

Jimi could play any guitar right or left handed, regardless of which way it was strung.

    Can Randy do that? Huh?

  • you're missing the whole point of said conversation.... and my tribute is REAL a great song from his earlier days...

  • Wow ... Right over your head.

Do you even know what a tribute is?

  • nice sound for live

  • Yeah, playing outside is a tough thing for any sound man, but it sounded great!

  • Met him. Got back stage passes. Good guy. Rockin show. Looks just like Hendrix.

  • were can i get concert dates and stuff for this guy? im 17 so itll be the closest ill get to see jimi.

  • Randy has a web site. Check it out! =D

  • Does anybody know about he is danish? Hansen is a normal last name in Denmark.

  • Yeah cool pic you´ve met Randy Hansen woow!!5/5 this post was great!

  • Yeah, it was very nice to meet RH! He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. =D

  • i saw him play tonight in west seattle. rad show and performance. his son played too. so sick. peha

  • LUCKY!

  • randz is really a groove maker*

  • Stellar... Man that gave me chills..

  • You and me, too! =D

  • I am so glad you posted this stuff! I didn't even know about Randy until a friend found yours and other vids on you tube. Thank you so much.

  • That's cool! The only thing better would be to see Randy in person. Unless you are in the Northwest, chances are slim.

    Anyway, Randy is the best!

  • Buddy Miles gone, now Mitch Mitchell (yesterday, the 12th of November).

Though Mitch left this mortal coil, if you really think about, he is not 'really' gone. I refuse to believe this pitifully short existence on this third stone from the sun is all there is. No, it's not!

Mitch is now in another space and dimension reunited with former bandmates Jimi and Noel. What joy!

    "Play on drummer..."

    Frank

  • Great comment, Frank!

    I like that..."play on drummer"!

    RIP, MM!

  • I tell ya, it doesn't get any closer to Jimi Hendrix than this via Leon Hendrix and Randy Hansen at the same time/place.

I live on the opposite end of the coast (New Jersey) or else I'd be there!

    Later,

    Frank

  • Yeah, I'm halfway between you both, but still crazy hard to get there. I agree, that would be so cool to attend.

  • Featured performers include Leon Hendrix (Jimi Hendrix Brother), Randy Hansen, (World Famous Jimi Hendrix tribute), Goldy McJohn and Friendz, (founding keyboardist for the legendary rock band Steppenwolf), Roger Fisher (founding guitarist and songwriter for the band Heart) and other legendary musicians will be announced.

  • Cool! Thanks again for the tip!

  • fantastic!

  • Heck yeah!

  • How do I purchase a copy of the 'Live in Berlin' DVD?

  • I think it is for sale on his web site.

I have heard from others that the link does not work, but I hope it works for you! =D

  • Thanks for replying, but alas! the link does not work and so I am unable to get hold of a copy. Any other ideas? Could someone send me a copy please?

  • Do a Google search. You'll find it!

    Regards,

    Frank

  • Very good. Cheers...

  • yes you are right about Mr.Hendrix (Al)gave Randy the thumbs up,I knew both Mr. Hendrix(Al) and know Randy and he also really liked Jimi's dad too. Al was very special person and had class and the same can be said for Randy. RIP AL-I miss his friendship today.

  • That's cool to know that Al gave Randy the thumbs-up! Thaks for sharing that tidbit of trivia. =D

Randy is a great guy, too!

  • Im so jealous ..look at them AMPS ...holy crap ...i cant imagine the feedback and sustain he gets with all that power..just like the real jimi and srv

  • Curiously, it was not overly "loud". I was right in front of his two Marshall stacks, and my ears were not blasted out. He got most of his sustain and feedback by way of the floor monitors (I think).

The amps are Super Lead 100's (with a Hot Plate on the right amp), and the cabinets are 6x10's. Very cool.

  • yes you are right randy amp's aren't overly loud and actually are clean sounding themselves-the feedback and sustain is from the pedals he's using.

  • Motorpsych0,

It's a pity you weren't able to record more! Btw, how long was the concert? What other tunes did Randy play?

Once again, thanks for sharing this fantastic performance--best I've seen by Randy Hansen on YouTube.

    Regards,

    Frank :-)

  • Great!!!!

  • Best Hendrix cover. 5*

    Thanks motorpsych0!

  • play live motor you can afford it!

  • hahahaha he's sooo identical!!!

  • Great fun.Great playing.Great attitude.Great.

Thanks motorpsych0 for sharing your holiday fun with us.***** for him and you.

  • have you seen Randy!Awesome! He is cool!!thank you Motor for it!!

  • Awesome...I wish there was more.

I'm seriously stealing some of those guys tricks for someday when I play live, haha...

    Peace.

  • I was lucky to get 5 complete songs recorded on my little Sony pocket camera. The memory ran out on Voodoo Child, but at a good stopping point, luckily.

Speaking of tricks, did you catch the "over the back guitar pick toss-catch" in one of the other videos? He did the trick often. One one instance, he missed the catch, and the pick landed in the grass in front of me. So I snatched it up before the crowd even noticed it! Nice souvenir. =D

And yeah, I have the same fantasy...to play LIVE...Hmmm.

  • Yea I did see that one. Pretty awesome...never seen it before.

And great souvenir. Does it say "Randy Hansen" on it...or is it just a regular pick?

And yep it was a good stopping point.

  • The pick is a Dean Markley medium (white with black letters)...Sadly, no name on it. =(

I actually caught another one later, and handed it to the little rocker dude on my left. He was thrilled, but I could tell he was let down when he saw the Dean Markley logo.

  • cool man,real good,

  • I hope to see him soon. Great vid. Thanks for the posting.

    PEACE

  • very cool, thanks for the videos man. i would have loved to see this live
