Indeed, this ratchet's ambulance mode is not very good, but his robot mode makes up the flaw from former.

I personally think that robot accuracy is much more important the vehicle accuracy.

Finally picked this guy up... looks great in robot mode, truck mode has way too much kibble underneath, its obviosly his arms and legs folded up, and you can see them from the sides. Looks decent from the top or at an above angle, though

This Ratchet it alot more screen acurate more than the voyager because the vouager has chunky legs and small arms so they dont scale so much and the detail on the voyager is not very good this one should of been the 1 made when the first movie was made but no they when for what i like to call a chubby ratchet XD i just got him off ebay for £5 buy it now price XD brand new in box and the other cheaper one is £14.99 including P&P

They should just have made new Voyager versions of Ratchet and Ironhide made like the Deluxe versions for the first wave of ROTF instead of those repaints. They would have looked more movie accurate and still been size accurate. Now we can chose: Transformers that look better for display but don't fit in size with the others or not very movie accurate molds that fit in size. Thats just shit in the end.

ironhide was taller than him in the psp game from the first movie so recon ironhide and deluxe ratchet are roughly the same size but in the movie when optimus's body at the nest base they were the same size

the robot parts fail the vehicle mode, i like a figure with the perfect balance of both, for example, leader rotf prime, you would never tell he transformed in ether mode, thats why he is my fav ant tops the rest. all the other figures have some fault, and if they dont fail in vehicle mode or robot mode they are usualy have loose robot parts all over the place. i mean you cant pose/play with them without half converting a piece, like deluxe bumblebees legs, or ironhides shoulders and chest

Ok, what has this guy been smoking? Go look up a picture of cgi movie Ratchet then compare it to this figure. This is by far an extremely movie accurate deluxe class movie Ratchet, and far more accurate then the voyager version.

Yeah. I love you to death, Peaugh, but I think your assessment of screen accuracy in this regard is way out there. Of all the Movie 1 toys, I was the most disappointed by Ratchet because he looked so little like his on-screen representation. This deluxe looks leagues better. True, he's tiny, but at least he's in-scale with Voyager Prime (and maybe the forthcoming deluxe Ironhide).

ummm... no. ironhide is a large character, so he has to be a voyager. the smaller characters like bumblebee are deluxes, and scout classes are the small transformers who turn into toastsers and motorbikes and stuff. but there are exeptions, like deluxe ratchet, deluxe wheelie, deluxe chromia and deluxe arcee. also, the voyager ironhide should be bigger.

Not quite as screen accurate? But THIS is the whole purpose they made a deluxe Ratchet, to make a new, more screen accurate mold. The Voyager is very slunky and doesn't resemble the movie model at all while this (if you remove the panels on his hips) is pretty much a robot replica...
