I think its cool that Janet Jackson sampled music from Stage 2 of this game.

discovered a glitch when was a kid in this game. Green Hill Act 1. When you get to the first ''ski-jump''. go downs as fast as you can and when you're launched press all the way to the right. Sonic will fly out of the screen and the enemies and spikes won't kill you. If you do it right, you can finish the level in 19 seconds and get the 30,000 point bonus, (or was it 50? Can't remember lol) Fun game, better than the Mega Drive version IMO.

I "Somehow" completed this game when I was younger after months of playing it and getting stuck although last time I played it I couldn't get beyond the Jungle Zone

The best mess up I ever made when playing this game was on Act 2 of the Scrap Brain Zone. I got to that point where you had two bottomless pits and a 3rd one with an Emerald in it. I couldn't resist seeing what happened if you went down one of the other pits and ended up loosing a life.

I got this Game with my SMS 2 and had Alex Kidd built in. I remember spending hours playing this I would always make it to eggman in the jungle and get killed eventually finished it though after months of frustration.

Sadly, T-0815 missed the chaos emerald in the jungle, labyrinth and blimp. The ending changes when you got them all, but only slightly.

I love the music in the labyrinth zone. It's much more catchy than in the Mega Drive version in my opinion.

first game I ever beat, though initially I used to be scared of drowning in the Labyrinth zone so I'd always turn off the machine after beating the Jungle Boss

same for me, my older brothers gave this to me when they got a playstation, still it is amazing. Sonic actually came built in to my master system so I count myself lucky, best game ever

it wasnt built in it was given free with most master systen II's (at Least my version, my gf dusagrees)i had alex kidd buikt into mine, i loved this game itwas the first i completed

@wild0999, Start your Master System with no game in it, and hold up, 1, and 2 simultaneously. Your built in game is Snail Maze :P

@geekymarianne Or, just start the console and do nothing without a game inside you either started Hang ON or This sonic, some had Alex kid too. (atleast for us in Europe)

@randomforum, yeah, we definitely had it better in Europe - I think *all* our Master Systems had built in games, but I don't think Americans got that until later revisions (other than Snail Maze).
