@SFCPKRM Well that's cute. You deliberately post that in a place where it's 100% certain you'll get flamed for it. I sarcastically applaud your lack of intelligence, asswipe.
This is the shit that Disney needs to be airing between commercials like they used to do in the 80s -- Forget that Hannah Minnesota crap, the classic stuff along with music that truely brings it to LIFE, THIS is what Disney should be all about !!!!!!
Seriously this might be the greatest thing my ears have ever heard. I've never heard a song that combines two of my personal favorite things in this entire world and that is heavy metal and Disney.
But enough with the whining, this video is an amazing piece of work! I can't imagine the effort you have put in it. It's a great ability to pick all the best scenes from all best Disney classics and fit them with the right lyrics so well too. :)
I 'm under the imression "the sailor, an idol for the six year old in me" means Donald, as that piece of the lyrics is followed by a reference to Scrooge + Donald is huuuuge in Finland compared to Mickey + Mickey is not "the sailor" in any way. Was that your own preference then? It pains me to see that animated plasphemy during "the Phoenix of White Agony Creek", that should belong to Don Rosa Scrooge only, but I understand it fits better with the whole video.
I have no idea how long you spent on this but its truly amazing. Everything syncs up perfectly and the clips just work wonderfully with the lyrics. I imagine this was pretty difficult so thanks for putting in the time and effort in to create a product that rivals any music video ive ever seen
great job man it is one of the greatest amvs I've ever seen. It kinda made me tear up and think of my childhood and if anyone can do that I give them cudos thank you.
I've said it before and I'll say it again; brilliant. I'm watching this for the fifth time, I believe. I showed it to some friends and family who still love classic Disney and they loved it! Excellant job with the editing! I'm off to watch some old Disney movies again!
YES!!!! OMG, you matched the Beast's words with the lyrics!!!!!!!! AH!!!! THAT WAS BRILLIANT! YAY!!! Lolz, and you titled this brilliantly too, haha "How F'ing FantasMic" ;p You definitely did this song justice. Nightwish = Best band in the universe, and you did a great video to go with it. Ah, Nightwish and Disney - what more could you ask for in the realm of epicness? Haha. ;p
Ahh, that's the Enchantress the Beast denied quarter to, she's the one who turned him into what he looks like. It's from the Beauty and the Beast straight-to-DVD Christmas sequal.
It's purely artistic though to go with the music, it's not just another general kids movie, I hated Fantasmic as a kid, especially the Bald Mountain scene 'cause of how "evil" it was, now I listen to black metal, haha.
Man, I knew when I saw that people were going to start their controversial crap. Look, she was deliberately drawn hideously so that your attention could be drawn to the bizarre and mature presentation of Fantasia. Fantasia is less about children and more about mature minds who can appreciate the arts. Same goes for the "SFX" you see in Simba's clip. "SFX" Special Effects! But you people SWEAR TO GOD IT SAYS SEX! I had to convert my mind pervertedly in order to see it too, after 18 views! I swear
I suppose it's all about seeing the world as *you* are ..instead of seeing it as is it. So, I wouldn't be surprised if you persisted with your "zomg hidden disney sex stuff!" .. Because anime is a lot more cheaply drawn, repetitive, talentless and unoriginal yet loaded with sexual exploitation of innocent virginal under-aged teens...yet.. no one seems to notice or complain about 'accidental groping' or attempted rape since 'its for older kids' hah! cheap excuse. But it works, then Lay off Disney
i think this whole song as to do with disney like wish upon a star no matter who you are and the king of fanatsy is walt disney himself i give this a 100%
Absolutely amazing. Every clip went really well together. And, I love how you made the dramatic pause right at the climax of the song. Seriously, you did an awesome job. :)
Well I can not say for sure what the band means by it but I would have to say it is from Disney himself. The abulm was a dedication to master storytellers of sorts and Walt Disney was certainly a master storyteller. And even though he is gone the name Disney itself is forever a top brand of storytelling and 'magic'. And he left us not only the stories but also Magic Kindoms and other theme parks as well as the state of storytelling the name Disney is now in itself.
That line is actually a direct clip from the movie. The Beast says "I let her go...because, I love her." I was watching the movie, I heard him say that, then remembered that in the song, compared it, and yep, they used the direct audio clip. Fun times.
Even the song's name "FantasMic", that name is taken from a nightly show at Disneyland and the Magical Kingdom. But yes, the whole song is a dedication to Disney, because he is a big fan of the works of Disney.
Actually, 'Treasure Island' was an old live action Walt Disney production, 'Treasure Planet' came out after the song. And you might want to double check your years, Mulan was 1998, Tarzan was 1999. *I am a nerd.*
It's the Sailor idol if you remember the Little mermaid Ariel idolized the statue of the Prince she had seen on the ship. Makes sense plus the line about 6 year old in me would be appropriate since The Little Mermaid is an older film.
It's not that much older, though. It was only released in '89, Mr. Holopainen was 12 at the time. Even still, he isn't talking a "sailor idol" he's talking a sailor that is an idol, and I'm sure Mickey would've been a big one, I know he was for me.
Yea I know I was born the year The Little Mermaid came out. I don't know how old these band members are since this is the first song I've heard by them but I'm sure they can't be so old that they were only 6 when Steam Boat Willy came out which is the only time Mickey would be considered a Sailor Idol. Therefore I would place my bets on the people who wrote this being around 6 in 1989 when The Little Mermaid was released.
Ahh, well, Mr. Holopainen was born on Christmas of '76, so he was 12 when the Little Mermaid came out. Mickey can still be considered a sailor idol to this day, as long as it was the Steamboat Willie cartoon that really stuck with you. So while the Little Mermaid wasn't available to Mr. Holopainen when he was 6, Steamboat Willie was, and due to it being such an influential cartoon as it was, it is most likely that it was the Sailor Mickey that was the idol to a 6 year old Tuomas.
ah well I guess that makes sense. Guess i should look up more about the band before speaking out. Thanks for putting me straight. I'm glad a I could learn something new. ^_^
Actually, from what I understand, the sailor in the song was Donald Duck (with his sailor outfit and all). Apparently he was a big fan of Donald as a child, and still is.
The lyrics are quite fascinating. I'm 23 and I was a kid who was brought up entirely on Disney (With the exception of such things as Transformers, Sonic The Hedgehog, and Mighty Morphing Power Rangers XD). But you can defenitly figure out quite a few of the references being made. Although I don't quite get the "Phoenix of White Agony Creek" part. Man! Listening to this song makes me want to just pack up and take a trip to Disneyland.
The "Phoenix of White Agony Creek" has to do with the old Scrooge McDuck comic books. That was the only line I didn't know either, that's why I just added the clip of Scrooge with his old squeeze.
Perfect meld of art, my childhood classics, and an amazing band. Thank you so much for this, it brought me to tears.

So, yo mean that... Perhaps that song is actually kind of a tribute to Disney or some kind of fairytale?
because.. you know... wish upon a star, "the 2nd star to the right (the land of peter pan)"
The Beauty Sleeping awaiting for true love's first kiss... what the beast says...
A cub of the king betrayed by usurper..A mermaid in a tale...
It all makes sense!!!!
We should ask Tuomas.. xD
