you know it has nothing to do with if there black or white. but you know its 50/50. part of its the teachers and the other half is the kids. there not helping themselves. trying to be thugs. sagging there pants down to there ankles. so if the STUDENTS AND TECHERS come together i think they can rebuild new orleans schools.
you are so correct! It's horrible just what has gone on for so many years. It's stealing from babies. I keep telling myself, the good lord don't sleep, they'll have to answer for what they have done one day.
I lived in New Orleans and worked for the Orleans Parish School System for 11 years pre-Katrina. What brought the system down was favoritism, nepatism, politicians, and people who looked at the system as a cash cow. People were constantly raising their voices about what was going on but it feel on deaf ears. Money was talking a little louder. The school district was also a victim of the poverty in New Orleans and the State of Louisiana. We had governors who were more concerned with the Saints.
Katrina happened almost 2 years ago. People need to move forward and decide what their gonna do. New Orleans needs to get they structual foundation together. They need to fix that, before they can help the people. People need to stand up and start fixing themselves. God only knows it will never happen if you continue to wait on the government. There are some really corrupt people here in La. but I only can hope that the honest sleep with their eyes open to watch out for the little man.
One of the sworn duties since the conception of the federal government is to provide an education for the children of this country. It's not a situation where people are waiting on the government, the government has a fiduciary responsibility to educate children through our tax dollars. Thus, people need to be held accountable for where and what our tax dollars are supposed to be spent on. There are millions of illegals getting a good free education with our tax dollars so why can't our kids.
I can only hope that these charter school systems that are state run will help. Can you believe that there are children here living in their belighted homes without their parents. For most of them the only meal they get is what they get at school and school is about to be out for summer. I think this is just horrible. I think these parents should be held accountable for their actions.
Sue the school system! Everybody affected should should band together for one big zillion dollar lawsuit. Sue the state. Stop talking to the wall and take to the highest courts.Atlanta's Dekalb, Clayton,Fulton are going thru similar struggles. Also take this to CNN, Dateline, Anderson 360 and soforth.

Atlanta Ga is segregated and the black schools sufferjust like you all. But this seems to be alot more extreme. Atlanta is corrupted from police to the county school systems. We have blacks as "Supers" and a "Principals" allowing this injustice to happen in exchange for more money in their pockets
Very good video but I must say another sad observation that I notice is that this video has been viewed over 4,000 times and no one has anything to say about it. Post something funny or comical and everyone wants to comment on having a good laugh. Post something serious or deeper than the surface and no one speaks up, which is exactly why this school system is the way it is now. A biggger fuss needs to be made in order to impact change....
What's so sad is these children go to school and want an education, but no one is giving it to them. No books and horrible conditions. Most cities tear down better schools than the ones these children have to go to.
I only wish we had those with a voice, money and influence such as Oprah, Al Sharpton, jesse J., bigtime preachers and NAACP fight for this wrong done to these people. New Orleans is so corrupted. I refuse to return for festivals and games bcuz of the corrupted system.

I guess it's more important to see that New Orleans becomes a chocolate city than it is improving the New Orleans public schools.
