I just bought the same model chair. Went together pretty easy. And it's pretty comfortable (definitely better than the heavy steel office chair, circa 1967, that this replaced. Is it still treating you right? (wondering about how it holds up).
Does the keykeeper talk with his accent because of a lisp? I'm not trying to offend, I was just wondering because I have a friend who has a similar voice and the keykeeper sounds kinda cool when he talks like that!
@edcjunkie I'm not sure what to tell you about that. I've never really noticed a problem with his speech, nor have I really thought about it. It is what it is.
I'm pretty easygoing and fairly difficult to offend. The only thing that really "grinds my gears" (to use a Keykeeper saying) is flagrantly stupid behavior. You can ask almost any question you'd like, just be nice. :-)
@rockerboy12doglover Windows 7 really isn't for me. They fixed the performance problems. Now I'm waiting for them to fix the UI.
My operating system preference is drifting away from Windows. I'm not sure where it is going just yet...Mac OS X, FreeBSD and Linux are all making some good arguments in recent times.
I see they reinforced that model with steel on the legs. I've got an older model where one wheel broke off and two legs snapped. Luckily, I had an old chair with a broken seat, and the legs from it work better.
And to think I almost skipped this video :) Here I am listening to you give me a shout out and I'm thinking to myself, who is Bonhomme Richard? Oh wait; that's me! lol. And you even pronounced my user name in the best anglicized French that can be expected. Thanks Bill and mind that decent on SkyHill :)
I'm sure I bungled the pronunciation pretty badly. I honestly wasn't sure how it was pronounced and as you can see, I even managed to leave the "91" off of there. Whoops.
I use to have that chair except it was $110.00 from a samsclub. That chair is a P.O.S, the leather started to rip on it & the wheels got stuck here & there. I threw that thing out & got a comfortable $80.00 chair from staples. The best thing about my chair is that I have a warranty(i'd never even think that there was a warranty for office chairs). One thing i most hated about it is that sometimes I would lean back too much & would scare the shit out of me.
Interesting that you assemble the whole chair then set the whole thing on the wheel assembly. I assembled a similar chair for my dad but put the seat part on the wheel assembly first then attached the back and arms so I didn't have to do that dangerous maneuver of setting the whole chair and back on the wheel assembly. great vid btw keep em commin
@mikee286 I know it seems hard to believe (imagine a big grin here) but we actually DID follow the directions. Mostly. :-) And that's what they said to do...
@MacintoshUser1986 No magic to speak of, just sleeping. I've hinted at it before, but I'm single, not looking and I intend to stay that way, probably forever.
Looks like a fun time, you two can be quite the pair! I got to say your videos ( and keykeepers) are my top favorite on YouTube right now.
I have to ask, do you ever think you were born in the wrong time? I am about your age and sometimes think I was born 10-20 years too late. But right now is an awesome time tech wise, but I still have fond memories of the old c-64 and q-link instead of the Internet. The music you like made me wonder.
I'm not sure I can fit this in 500 characters! No, I don't think I was born too late. I've seen an amazing progression of technology so far. As for the music that I listen to, the country stuff is what I heard played on the radio in my childhood. I kind of picked up the 50s/60s/70s/80s stuff since I'd become disinterested in today's country music scene. My first job was in a grocery store, that was what they played and I grew to really enjoy it.
@uxwbill Someone like my grandfather has been very fortunate. He was born in 1913 and has seen the coming of the automobile, radio, television, electronic computing, advancements in medicine, the AT&T breakup, the Internet and the World Wide Web (as well as one world war). Sometimes I wish I could have seen all of that, but not so much that I'd trade him places if I could.
I look back at my childhood and most of my memories are fond. Only my education experience was miserable...
@Duratec86 This was the monitor I recapped in an earlier video. A co-worker gave it to me saying "nobody thinks this is worth fixing", after which I sat on it for about two years.
@uxwbill If I could read his mind, I would "read" his cell number and leave him a voice mail "KeyKeeper, don't fart in Bill's chair! (until he is at work). :P
Seriously, when he mentioned "Seasoning" the chair, I had a pretty good idea what he had in mind.
i havent bought staples branded chairs (when i bought mine, they didnt have their own brand) good to know their bulid quality is alright (i suspect they are actually made by a chair company like global for staples)
Dangerous kind chairs...we have some of those. Dell down at 7:25 !! (on the floor in the background).
Seems like the Keykeeper wants to supervise you when you have his iPhone. We bought my Grandmother a chair from Staples and its been very durable, especially since I do some fair office chair derby in it.
@clubcar98 The Dell on the floor is my second Dimension 8300. It is there to confirm the fact (by means of comparison testing) that my first machine is somehow broken. Which it must be, since this one is worlds faster in the disk I/O department.
Unfortunately, someone let the fan fall out of this one and now some caps are bloated. I will have to fix them.
Oh great now I have to decide between the Sherwood receiver or the Staples office chair! I only have $130 but man that looks like a nice chair and I am using a $20 POS garage sale desk chair right now, lol!
that's a nice chair we still have some office chairs we bought at staples about 15 years ago in the computer room.nice desk too the only problem with those little bedroom desks is finding a chair small enough to fit under them that doesn't.
A)kill you
B) make you want to kill yourself
c) only seat the smallest 5 year old
fortunately i found an old metal hon chair from the 60's for my "little desk" and its at least comfortable enough that you only feel excruciating pain once you get out of it.
it's a great chair :D
