Why does Ron Paul make the distinction between Awlaki and Bin Laden. Doesn't the Fifth Amend. provide that "No Person" can be deprived of liberty without due process. That protection extends to citizens and non-citizens alike. Paul claims a distinction because he voted for the 'Authorization for Use of Military Force', I challenge everyone to read the law. Awlaki was a member of Al-Qaeda, the organization responsible for 9/11. Thus, there is no distinction between Bin Laden and Awlaki.

Why does Ron Paul make the distinction between Awlaki and Bin Laden. Doesn't the Fifth Amend. provide that "No Person" can be deprived of liberty without due process. That protection extends to citizens and non-citizens alike. Paul claims a distinction because he voted for the 'Authorization for Use of Military Force', I challenge everyone to read the law. Awlaki was a member of Al-Qaeda, the organization responsible for 9/11. Thus, there is no distinction between Bin Laden and Awlaki.

He came back to the US for college and then left it again to join Al-Qaida and fight against "his country". He is a textbook example of why we should change the constitution to eliminate "anchor babies". The US has 312 MILLION people now - we don't "need" more people. And im all for those people having their day in court and suffering the consequences if found guilty of the allegations. This sets a large precedence, one that if overlooked could eventually come back to haunt us all. Preemptive attack and assassination are not the only way or the best way to handle these things. Might does not make right ...

He was also wanted by the Yemeni government for terrorism. Because we can't "serve him papers" are we just supposed to sit back and let him continue to foment war against us in the name of "due process"?? @Ironmaw1776 The important point here is he was an American citizen. Habeas Corpus applies to ALL Americans, even the ones the government doesn't like. All the government had was allegations, the same allegations that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. He should have been tried in a court of law and had a right to defend himself just the same as you or I or your family members and friends have.

The interviewer is such a dick. You hold a strict trial and give a severe penalty. You don't assassinate U.S. citizens just because the President says so.

You guys don't understand journalism. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of bad/biased interviewers out there, but this guy was actually good.
If he was just agreeing with Ron, there would be no interview. The questions he asked were pretty good. Don't you get bored of monologues?

Paul contradicts himself - again - if you listen carefully. In the beginning he says we shouldn't target people "who have not been charged" - then later when he discusses taking out OBL - he states "the charges against Awlaki were different". Paul is a pacifist at heart and the more he strays from his "talking points" - the more he sticks his foot in his mouth.
