The Troggs quickly did a garage band classic ( wild thing), a romantic soft dreamy song (love is all around) and then something in-between quirky power-ballad With a Girl like you. Reminds me of Arthur Lee and Love Song (ba ba ba bap - Orange Skies) and The Rascals with a girl like you.. Cool song.

What is pretty funny is that this was number 1 in the charts when I was born - Aug 1966.... so guess the recording was from a later gig or even something like top of the pops!? Great recording considering how old it is.

The Troggs had a number of serious hits, all to do with love,lust making out...nothing wrong with that!!! With all the breakup , misfortunes, crying, hate, deceit & even drugs, i certainly can't see anything wrong with singing of love, lust or making out(sexual). The bands back in this era went on to dress in pins/stripes, others added bright colours but most of them wore mainstream style, like the fans. They all looked neat,tidy & they wore theircloths to fit, they looked sharp..THX4POSTIN
