  • It looks so realistic! Great color choices & techniques!!

  • Great Idea.....However the Products you are using ARE NOT FOOD SAFE....I recommend NOT USING YOUR COUNTERTOP!

  • @keithwoynorowski Are you sure about that? Doesn't the product (solvent based I assume) become 'inert' once it has cured?

  • @MrTrda Yes, however, residuals are still able to "wick" through using any moisture as a passage way, possibly contaminating anything that contacts the counter. I specialize in the production of solid surface countertops, and there is a lot more to it than slapping a couple coats of paint on and calling it "OK"

  • I would like to ask- how is the sink area holding up? I had read where someone who did this had trouble with the poly getting abit mushy when water sat on it too long. Have you had any issues with that? Also did you remove the sink during the process or just tape it off paint around it? Thanks, and it does look amazing!

  • Beautiful!!! I'm in awe...the transformation is magnificent! I'm thinking of doing something similar to my counters. Thank you for the video, really helped!

  • Did you refinish your cabinets w/Countertop Transformations ? If so, what color ?

  • There are lambs wool rollers at Lowes, do you think those would work as well? We're going to start this weekend!

  • That is very nice, good work!!!

  • I love this! We just bought a house with horrible 1970's countertop and I've been trying to find something to do besides replacing them, I think this is a winner!

  • They look awesome and I want to try this but how do you get the decorative edges? In the before picks they are flat... Thanks!

  • There was a wooden trim edge on all of the counters. I just painted over it.

  • Unbelievable, I love how youdo your kitchen renovation. Well Done!

  • Wow! Great job!

  • What a fabulous transformation! I am seriously considering doing this to our old 1970s counters. Just want to know how's the durability? Any chips or water damage?

  • Thank you Annie. It's been 2 months and I haven't had any problem with chipping or water damage. I have kids and they are pretty rough on them. I do get some streaks after I wipe them down but I just go over them with windex and it takes care of it.

  • @pclapeer I was wondering how your counters are holding up after 8 months? They're really beautiful. I'm considering doing the same but I'd like to know about how durable the finish is over time?

  • Here's a tip on how to get rid of the bubbles. Right after you roll on your Min-Wax, get a heat gun (I bought mine at Harbor Freight for $18), and run the heat gun over the countertops, 2 inches away is about as close as I would go. Not only does it pop all the bubbles, it gives a great texture.

  • Just finished this past weekend, and the results are unbelievable! I did mine a little differently as far as colors, but followed the instructions and couldn't be happier. I just fauxed the countertops in the master bath, but I used a latex paint also, and the results were still beautiful.

  • I started using a foam roller and it was leaving too many bubbles, that's when I switched to the lambs wool. I used it for the last couple applications. I used a 220 foam sanding block. I would to see how it turns out.

  • Tonight I will put the black paint on. When I finished Almond, I wanted to stop because I loved it so much. Last night I did the leather brown, and fell in love with it! The colors are so dramatic and beautiful. Quick question: Do I need to get a lambswool for each application of the clear? Also, when sanding 220 grit okay?

  • Thanks Terri. Please let me know how it turns out. I'm still loving mine. I do like to go over them with windex for streaking after I've wiped them down. But I get compliments on them all the time. People can't believe it when I tell them it's paint.

  • @pclapeer Your counters look fabulous! I'm wondering how they're holding up? I'm thinking of using this treatment and want to make sure the finish stands up over time.

  • This is just beautiful. I'm in the process of doing the same thing. Hope mine turns out as well as yours.
