If Bach could allways be played like that… Perlman has a stunning way to play this music. When you're violinist for only 7 years, that's absolutely depressing.
The misery in this thread makes me even more assured that I never want to comment again on a YouTube vid. Why can't you just enjoy the music? This is as good as music gets. Perlman before swine...

@SLee1337 obviously you are the retarded one, i said 7 people thought that it was bach himself, if you had a bit of assessment skills you would know what i meant with that. i meant that 7 people thought it was bach himself who played it. and racism typically indicates ignorance, and who are you to call someone retarded?
HIS SIDEBURNS WILL NEVER BURN AS MUCH AS SHOWN HERE ... ONE´S WHISKERS GET TATTY AS ONE GETS OLDER. HIS FACILA EXPRESSIONS? THOSE OF A SILLY COUNTRY BUMPKIN!
piece is deceptively simple, it leaves a lot of interpretation, which I hope I can develop after memorizing this. ;laks;lakew;lakd Good way to blow off steam I guess, I've been really frustrated lately.
The level of the composition is impeccable,in a league of its own Bach is untouchable. The phrasing by Perlman is excellent(some observations i made after further listening
I'm in love with the expressions violinists have when they concentrate; their mere position makes them look like they're lending an ear to their violin, so that it almost seems like the instrument is controling their playing arm and they're just listening =D
Wow your description is very deep hahaha. Thats actually how I feel about those musicians who are extremely emotionally when it comes to playing their music. Incredible people.
okay so i still think i could play it (not boasting) but i must have been in a bad mood when i was watching this before because now i think he sounds amazing. weird.
Get the music and play it. I just started the piece last week and let me tell you, it's hard. The notes are simple to get down but there's MUCH more to playing that notes, that's what a lot of people don't seem to understand. So the notes are there for me by now but I still have a LONG way to go before i can even get it adequate in comparison to this. And when I say get the music and try it, I'm being serious, and then tell me if you can play it or not.
@louisahawkins : If one spends 12 months on a bravura violin composition such as this, then one can put the same level of artistry into such providing one has not counter-practised at any stage.
I think he played pretty well in this one.All the notes are clear and intact. And this piece is quite difficult.. imo. I think its harder than Sarabande. =/

So that's the great Perlman? I can think of 20 violinists who are far more expressive and technically more capable. Ahh the power of public relations and marketing...
¡Que sonido! Bravissimo
