  • I found one of these in my Pop-Pop's closet, he says that an ally gave it to him.

  • そうなんだよ。type38はよくジャミングするんだよねぇ。

    反動も少ないし、命中精度もいい。しかしこれがねぇ・・・・

    実戦じゃ命取りだよねぇ・・・・・

  • Ever plan on selling the type 38? I never see any decent examples w/ a 'mum' & dustcover in Canada.

  • @7hart2 nah

  • what range is that? mission? looks similar to poco but i know its not.

  • Dling!... Dling!

  • were japanese weapons badly made?

  • @TheHaos1 Some of the real late war ones are not the best but all Type 38's are pre WW2.

  • @Gungeek That i know,but thanks for the quick reply.I was wondering,because i heard people saying they jam a lot,unreliable in general.

  • @TheHaos1 Most work very well while some not so much.

  • @TheHaos1

That's a problem with a lot of surplus rifles. You can usually tell by examining the actions and bores if they've been maintained or stored well over the years. Some were just left in a guy's basement and look like they've been in a swamp.

  • @TheHaos1 arisaka's had the strongest reciever of any Bolt action rifle. Even stronger then mausers.

Only in the last 2 years of the war did production quality went down. This was for the type 99. All type 38's you'll encounter are in excellent production quality

  • @F4Wildcat the 1s ive found are pretty good their pretty expensive though

  • @TheHaos1 alot of jap rifles were actually made by russia and bought by the japaneese

  • @TheUSMarine5 Who told you that?

  • @Gungeek my dads friend is a gun collector and he gave me a type 99 arisaka, the guy he bought it from who may have been wrong said that and alot were poorly made because of need....

  • @TheUSMarine5 I never heard of that lol

  • @TheUSMarine5 Whoever told you that the Japanese bought Russian rifles is mistaken. Russia actually bought thousands of type 30 and type 38 rifles and carbines from Japan. There a numerous photos of Russian soldiers during world war one on guard duty, drilling, and cleaning their Arisaka rifles. Absolutely no Japanese guns came from Russia, nor were any Japanese small arms of Russian design. Japanese small arms were nearly always derivative of Mauser or Hotchkiss designs.

  • did your gun jam after first shot fired?

  • @xiaodai125 The rifle is built out of 3 different guns.

  • その銃って弾薬クリップ使うんじゃないんですか?

  • can you please tell me a place to get ammo for this?

  • @creekrocker You can get norma ammo or buy Privi Partizan brass and reload.

  • i just borght some type 99 ammo pouches, does the type 38 use the same ammo as the type 99? thanks

  • @AppleAirsoft The Type38Arisaka shoots 6.5Jap and the Type99Arisaka shoots 7.7Jap

  • we have an old arisaka with the mum, but i can't figure out if it's a type 38 or type 99, think u can help? i don't know much about japanese rifles :P

  • @Rangerfull3 Look at the Japanese characters on top of the action. If they are all differents its type 38 if 2 are the same its type 99. and type 99's are 7.7mm(.311-.312") and the type 38's are 6.5mm(.265-.267").

  • @Gungeek thanks, turns out it's a type 99 of the second series (34,110) made at koyo toyo factory ( or something like that, i don't remember exact name), it's cool how all the symbols have meanings..unfortunately it's missing the AA wings, but w/e! :P

    sweet 38 XD

  • How much did it cost you to assemble the weapon if you don't mind me asking?

  • @Ironfistofchaos maybe $150

  • feeeeed thats all XD

  • do the rifle still have the mum on it? i heard the japanese destroyed them, so rifles w/ a intact mum are way more valuable

  • @garandfan12 The mum is there.

  • My uncle gave me a type 38 for free. Incomplete bolt, needs firing pin, the spring, and safety knob, but the receiver is pristine

  • Mispronunciation. It's not Erisacka, it's Arisaka. Ah-Ree-Sah-Kah.

SOURCE: I am a language student trying to learn Japanese- one of the first things they did is teach me pronunciations in Romanji.

  • @AuzzieBoredguy lol noooo.

  • @Gungeek hmmm CODs are usually acurate.

  • @AuzzieBoredguy google is your best friend.

  • @AuzzieBoredguy noo the 38 is the 6.5 the 99 is the 7.7

  • where did you get it cool vid

  • @MrLadysman333 It is made out of parts.

  • arisaka rifle has a kick to it when fired I guess they had to aim slightly down. I wonder if soldiers would hurt themselves from the butt of the gun when it recoils

  • @ghasl1 lmao

  • @ghasl1 it has no recoil

  • How far was the gong downrange?

  • whats the difference between the type 99 and the type 38?

  • @JTelli786 Caliber and Type 38 rifles are very long, most Type99's are short rifles.

  • Toyota makes a better rifle. And more environmentally friendly too.

  • @richie8811 Nah.

  • @richie8811 what the hell are you talking about.

  • For me, this was the worst weapon that the Japanese had. Now I know it was not for nothing that they lost the second world war, because the game MOHPA this gun takes too long to reload, and when you least expect them to behave already dead one of these =P

  • @MXD500 Games arn't real you know?

  • @Gungeek Wah? well, it's my opinion, i prefer the Japanense sub-machineguns^^"

  • @MXD500 Nothing wrong with the type 38 and its not really any slower to shoot then other mauser action.

  • @MXD500 Well this isn't a game son.

  • @TaZ101SAGA Yeah, u're right^^

oh, man, i need to watch a Arisaka carbine shooting >.<

  • good meeaa

  • What weight bullets are you shooting? Seems like anything lighter than 140 grs wants to keyhole.

  • @Joe42076 140 grainers.

  • I like this video a lot!

  • Try a stripper clip for an M 1903 Springfield, they work wonderfully in the type 38, makes loading very quick.

  • @Joe42076 Had none at the time.

  • 陛下の銃が…。

  • How does the extractor on a bolt action rifle work? And how does it get a new bullet into the chamber? Sorry, I can't figure anything out about guns...

  • @theshoeburger You want a vid?

  • @Gungeek Yeah, sure

  • @LS31051982 Bolt action is a strong and reliable system. Most countries didnt see a problem with them untill we (americans) came kicking their asses with the M1 and they figured out real quick they needed to match us so the quickly cranked out semi auto rifles, such as the Gewear 43 as you mentioned

  • The reason why the U.S won

  • you should get some sleight of hand.

  • @bartsomsentju What?

  • @Gungeek He says that you should learn to reload more quickly. Sleight of hand is the name of a Call of Duty perk which improve the reload speed. I think he was joking... lol

  • @Gungeek He's a call of duty nerd, dont worry about him.

  • @Gungeek Call of Duty gameterm ^^

  • @bartsomsentju this is not Call of Duty this is something called Call of Real Life

  • @bartsomsentju

Too much COD... w8 there is no such thing as too much COD!!!!!!!!

  • @bartsomsentju you're such a fag for making call of duty references on real gun videos. Go get a life. Seriously.

  • @ziegler117 Dont be fighting now.

  • @ziegler117 troll

  • Don't SHOOT RARE BULLET YOU BETTER PUT IT RARE COLLETION

  • @MafiaGENGTEAM1970 I didnt shoot any rare bullets.

  • slow but accurate

  • My granduncle brought three of these home from japan during ww2 and he is giving us it. It's gonna take a crapload of repairs though to get that thing in firing order

  • So that 6.5 is closer to the Swiss Rubin?

  • @imperialfragments The 6.5x55 Swedish 6.5x52 Italian 6.5x54 Greek 6.5x53R Dutch/Romanian and 6.5x50SR Japanese are all in the same group pretty much.

  • I have never shot an arisaka , what would you compare it to in common caliber? what year did they go from 6.5 to 7.7 and why? Im not to familiar with the arisaka but have been thinking about adding one to my collection.

  • @imperialfragments The 6.5x50 is like the 6.5x55 in powder and the 7.7x58 is like the .303 British. The 7.7 type 99 came out in 1939, the reason was that the Japanese felt the 6.5 round lacked powder at longer ranges.

  • Great video.Great gun.

  • great shooting.

  • did the japs had a self loading rifle in ww2?

  • @sasukefan012345 A few .

  • @Gungeek but like the m1 garand...?

  • @xRAPiiDG4MERx Fight here you will be blocked.

  • @148scalemodeling Fight here you will be blocked.

  • @Gungeek is the gun shot loud?

  • @eggjj2001 Loud enough :)

  • well they were great rifles but the latter type 99 arisakas the last ditch were a huge drop i quality but they still fire good.

  • @Gungeek i got a 1907 type 38 arisaka with full mum only paid $325. prices are going up.

  • i hate noobs that hard scope. where was the noscope or quickscope? silly noob

  • @xRAPiiDG4MERx You hate what?

  • @Gungeek noobs. google it :L

  • @xRAPiiDG4MERx Something wrong with you?

  • @xRAPiiDG4MERx

Noobs that hard scope?! Sounds like you are a classic youtube wanker tbh, inane childish, bordom inspired comment from a genuine NOOB who's probably never even shot a rifle, never mind hand loaded.

You don't have a clue mate.

@ Gungeek, nice shooting! What are your choices of powder and load specifics? I own a beautiful example of a type 38, I LOVE this rifle!!

  • @xRAPiiDG4MERx

You probably have only heard of the Arisaka because of fucking CoD.

  • @xRAPiiDG4MERx dude you are a dumbass keep the fucking call of duty language in ur moms basement where it belong have you ever even shot a weapon?

  • @xRAPiiDG4MERx Because real life isn't call of duty...

  • Comment removed

  • Damn tht guy has a big kick back andrecoil

  • You didn't have the dust cover.

  • Five dead marines in WW2

  • BANZAI!!!!!

  • exellent shooting. 5/5!

  • you are a good shot!

  • Comment removed

  • @Smocrewzi ok sure...

  • @Gungeek this is cool video like the gun

  • EXLENETE VID, but i was wondering, whats the expected accuracy of one of those rifles?

  • @curseofa5r5a With a good barrel you could probably get 2"-4" groups at 100 yard but the V sights that might be hard.

  • @Gungeek thanks

  • BANZAI! had to be said.

  • How good actually are the Arisaka rifles? They look ok but i dont know enough about them.

  • @TaZ101SAGA Pre war Type 38's are very good but some war time Type 99's are not so much.

  • @Gungeek How do they compare overall to a Mosin-Nagant?

  • @TaZ101SAGA Id say the Arisaka is the better weapon but I prefer flatter shooting projectiles to heavier hitting ones. The Mosin has a better action though in my opinion.

  • @TaZ101SAGA

I think the Arisaka is a better rifle overall. I like mosins, but the fit and finish on the pre-war Type 38s will equal or beat most other military rifles of the time. And the action on them is probably the strongest bolt action military rifle ever built. I like my Mosins, but the Arisakas are just more fun for me. They will drop a feral hog in it's tracks with half the recoil of a 7.62x54R. And the .264" bullets are easier to find than the correct .310" bullets for the Mosin.

  • My grandfather just passed ones of these down to me that his father got in tokyo in september of '45. It is in great condition, still has the mum and everything. I was wondering if you knew anywhere I could get ammo for it to test it out or if It would even be safe after all these years.

  • @Cubia0w0 I think norma still loads it or you could get the brass and reload. If your not sure about the gun take it to a good gunsmith.

  • How much do these typically run for, specifically a shooter and not a collector piece.. and is commercial ammo available for it?

    Great vids btw,

    Cheers from Ottawa

  • @snipersup A good one might be close to $300 in Canada . norma makes or made ammo but it cost way to much , probably better off getting brass and reloading.

  • KK

  • Why are Canadians so much better at shooting than us Americans? =/

  • @aZOMBIEpanda Why you say that?

  • @aZOMBIEpanda canadians are some of the best snipers in the world

  • @aZOMBIEpanda

Because we take advantage of every time we get to use a gun.

Pistols are banned here in Ontario, fucking strict laws on that shit.

  • @cifeso Im pretty sure you can still own pistols in Ontario.

  • @Gungeek

Yeah, there's a restricted firearms license or something. Pretty hard to get.

  • I like that rifle

  • 良好な状態で保存されていますな。

  • Lol did my gun jam?

  • @LycheeChannels nope

  • This is the only reason why i would want to live in america able to use one of these at a shooting range :D

  • @Smiler001z its in Canada buddy-o lol. cheers

  • @Smiler001z Yeah the only reason I wouldnt want to live in the UK is because I couldnt bring my collection of guns. The one thing America does half right these days is gun laws. And we barely do it half right.

  • I really want one of these, but I gotta learn to handload first.

  • reload more faster there is 14 marines running for kill you xD

  • @comissairevanloc The HMG will get them.

  • @Gungeek The HMG won't help if their already dead...or if its jammed...

  • @orbitofdoom16 The type 92 will get the job done.

  • @comissairevanloc it ok germans reload long its issue they have called nazinoobish

  • @comissairevanloc

Another ass hole comment from a complete wanker. 14 marines, lol!! Go get yourself a life, and go comment on some games videos where you belong. Tool.

  • @delta9cbd i get a life , i dont wast my time to eat hamburgers and watching porn movies like you

  • @comissairevanloc

    >More faster

  • @cifeso that is super awesome lol

  • damn this is a pretty accurate rifle.. or must be the shooter lol

  • Damn it.. i use my left hand so the shells will popo on my face :S

  • nice rifle,i am looking for one for a long time now, where did u find em?

  • @tollyt100 Gun shop.

  • I have a Type 38 series 27 with a serial of 94k with the hooked style Bayonet. This weapon along with a few rounds of amo made from wood was picked up by my grandfather. I didn't get the whole story about how it was picked up but I know he was a merchant marine, not a military man.

  • Ok guys, how much range do you think you can get out of a 6.5 Arisaka?

I'm looking for a 6.5 penetrator of a hunting rifle and I"m finding myself in between an Arisaka and a Carcano, which has better ballistics?

    Iwo Jima or JFK?

  • im looking at buying both a type 99 and a type 38. do you know any stores that have a good selection of 6.5 and 7.5 ammo? or can you direct me to a good supplier of reloading supplys?

  • @SargeSouth Yeah right lol

  • @Gungeek thanks for the sarcasim -.-.......

  • @SargeSouth 6.5 and 7.5 are very hard to find, and when you find it, you'll pay a premium. If you want it for the history, go for it, but if you want something just to shoot, go with a Mosin Nagant, or a Mauser. Both are relatively accurate, the mauser will beat a typical mosin in accuracy, not including the finnish mosin nagants. and both have pretty cheap ammo, but the mosin will have the cheapest ammo, and generally the cheapest gun too.

  • @ddmo2 well, thanks for the nonsarcastic feedback man, I just want to be able to fire these weapons when i get them. Also i do agree about the mosin and mauser, i actually own both a ruskie M=91/30 and a VZ-24. But the pride of my collection so far is my Enfield No1 MKIII :)

  • @SargeSouth Hows the Enfield shoot? I recently got interested in them... then i tried finding ammo and decided against it. I hate having a gun I can't shoot a lot, and preferably cheaply.

  • @ddmo2 mine shoots like a champ :) every shot i took was on target, and it was a beat up old ishpore MKIII. id love to see the preformence of an Astrailian or English made Enfield

  • this was a nice rifle at the time it was used in WW2 as a sniper rifle with scope

  • wow ur a good shot

  • There is one of these for sale at a local store for 450 bucks.

  • Hornady and Priv manufacture the ammunition for these. Be careful with older NORMA brass, the rim is undersized .10 which can cause extraction problems.

  • i love how u said arisaka u said it soo geeky

  • I like it

  • how much is the ammo? hard to find???

  • @maqnchs I think norma still makes the ammo and its probably $40 for 20.

  • @maqnchs Just paid $26 for 20 at a gun show.

  • I read once that the report of the 6.5 Arisaka was so distictive that when GIs heard it they would immediately strafe the treelines trying to knock the japanese snipers out of them.

  • how meny waepons do you have ?

  • @TheKorimies I don't answer that question lol

  • @Gungeek whats your favourite gun?

  • @7JDH7NL7 All of them.

  • @Gungeek then answer me this question. how many guns do you not have?

  • <
