i'd say work on your voice, just keep it more loose and natural. you can really improve vocals with practice! its really about being natural and just not trying to sound like anybody else! even if its a cover. check out lou reed, the man really used his normal voice in like half of his songs, but he was using his own voice and style, not even trying to sound a bit like anyone else! thats what singing is about!
