  • Hey Tuff Gong, I'm sure Bob Marley got booed off the stage a few times in his early days before people got hip to his genius. In Vienna in 1803 people booed and walked out of Beethoven's performances; they even threw rotten tomatoes at him. Björk is a Genius. She's just ahead of her time.

  • So peaceful song :D

  • sounds even better with trumpets :)

  • ...and horns and whatever....however it sounds smoother than saxophones ^^

  • this make me cry!!!! soooo beautifull!!!!!!!

  • Esto me ha hecho llorar!!!!1

  • I'm in love of this woman

  • @pavotable Me too !!

  • I would definitely Skull Fuck this bird.

  • Still sounds great after all these years!! When she played it live in Blackpool she dedicated it - 'from one seaside too another' - bless her x

  • Mjög falleg :)

  • Bjork :) will you marry me?

  • bellissima.

  • beautiful.

  • its so simple, she really puts 'less is more' to good use

  • so sweet , tender; we need to invent a new adjective for describing björk's music, voice, etc.

  • I am absolutely completely 100% in love with this woman.

  • This is where I'm staying... This is my home...

  • This song is so beautiful.

I can't deny it in any way.

  • she is genious. and her hair looks so hot.

  • hér á ég heima...

  • Wow. I want to sing with Bjork...

  • hmm, ye i think tylersherrit misses the point of the avant-garde somewhat! not all music is about the virtuosity of the musicians!lol!

  • Beautiful song, perfect singer!!!

  • 2:38 NO MICROPHONE NEEDED

  • and i know this version isnt played on a sax... the other versions are though..

  • Bjork is an artist and her talent and passion are undeniable. I don't know what you are talking about.

  • John Mayer, Muse? What are you going on about. I've heard their "music"a hundred times from hundred other musicians. The genius behind Bjork is that her music is not derived from some obvious source, unlike the list you mentioned above. That is artistry, not reinvention.

Now let me go make a love song on my guitar. BORING.

  • John Mayer? What are you talking about? You're comparing one of the greatest voices ever with a guy that make radio-friendly tunes.

  • Maybe not a great voice, but a great singer. And an immensely musical, very serious composer. This is one of her more accessible pieces.

  • wtf dude.. not a great voice? it's a one-of-a-kind genius!!

  • However, good voices are more bound to subjectivity. A great singer will always be a great singer.

  • I agree with everything you said-- except for her voice. If you've listened to all of her music, you will have recognized her amazing vocal range. She can be quiet, yet so explosive. Her voice is always on point. Gorgeous.

  • couldnt have said it better myself :)

  • english words:

    I live by the ocean

    and during the night

    I dive into it

    down to the bottom

    underneath all the current

    and drop my anchor

and this is where I'm staying

    this is my home

  • i love her :)

  • bjork is the best¡

    she is brillant

    go Bjork

  • From which album is this song??

  • Debut

  • Bjork has contributed a lot to the music industry and her work will remain in the history as one of the most avant-garde artists of our times. Peace...

  • did i hear her say "...heima" which in the line in english was "and this is where i'm staying"

i dunno. just figured cos it's one of my favourite songs by sigur ros and and always wondered what that word meant.

  • she said 'heima' in what would have been the "this is my home" line. 'Heima' means home/homeland

  • haha, she made a little mistake :P

it throught the horn players off course a little haha :D

    xxx

  • where?

  • 2:45 i think..but its just a little mistake..

  • It's the first time I listen to her voice singing her mother tongue. Beautiful.

  • oooh man, can somebody tell me why this song get my tummy in knots. makes me sad, but smile at the same time. Beautiful!

  • sorry, not gonna be much help to ya. cause it does the same for me and i don't know why either

  • she trippin

  • This is probably my favourite bjork song. I dunno if i've just associated certain feelings with it, but it's really touching. The horns weren't as fantastically done on stage here though.

  • Exquisite. I have chills everytime I hear it.

  • I have no idea why she did this song @ Jools Holland. I guess it would've been better if she did more songs from Volta to promote it.

  • why only songs from volta???

  • eehh.. to promote it? not everyone gets the chance to do 3 songs and an interview @ jools holland.

  • alright =)

  • except that this was on her first album.... so you should feel better now.

  • ok, it was a response to another ceomment, but it doesn't wirk right :)

  • She seems to like this song a lot. She sings it often.

  • I dont know why but I cant hear this song without crying... I adore her!

  • Perfecta...sencilla y tan hermosa!!

  • Never liked this when I bought Debut, was more into the up beat stuff, but love this now

  • Very nice ... BUT i heard this song two weeks ago live and it was 100 times better :]

  • Beautiful song, perfect singer!!!

  • just when you thought she would never play that song again...

  • One of my favourite songs from Miss Gudmundsdottir, I love this! Especially in Icelandic!!! <3

  • Just gorgeous.

  • I love it when she sings in Icelandic! It's her native language, it makes the song a whole lot more personal and beautiful! She pretty much sang the whole song in English AND Icelandic!

  • Yes it was, haha. The second verse in Icelandic is the same as the first verse in English. =P
