@70goldtop where do you come up with that?? I have family in Jim Thorpe, allentown, and in Lehighton area.. I go there alot to visit and I'm from a lil town around Cincinnati Ohio. Some Locals don't like it, specailly in the summer it can be hell cause its crowded, specially during the asa packer and train rides, but majority of the people are nice as can be from there. Sounds like someone needs a time out and point their nose in the corner till they get a better additude....
I remember in the 70's and 80's as a kid, passing through Jim Thorpe with my family on our way to Philly or Allentown, and the insane traffic snarling through there. I can't even imagine what it must be like NOW. I live in the NYC tri-state area now, and will have to take my own family there! lol. Sorry locals! ;-)
So gay skrimish only got 1 second of talk it's the biggest thing in jimthorpe it 700 arcers andhas the biggest war the battle of normny like 500 people come and the tri state domintaion ny nj and pa
Without the out of towners, Jim Thorpe would look like Buffalo or Toledo! It would be just an other NE has been dump! The only problem I see with the town is the traffic jams. With Amtrak trains running sold out today, and gas not 15 cents agallon like when the Lehigh Valley Railroad quit. It would make sense to bring back direct Service to NY and Philly. West the tracks are still in all the way to Ithaca! Connections could be made with Scranton. It's time to get rid of all those cars and trucks
@intercityrailpal You can get to Jim Thorpe without worrys of parking and summer traffic jams on Mountain roads. Blue Mountain and Reading railroad runs special trains from time to time from the Scranton area, or Port Clinton. It's time to park your station wagon at the station! But the answer to Thorpe's traffic is direct service to NY and Philly to Ithaca.
Every town that attracts visitors has so-called locals that see anyone w/o a great-grandfather born there as an outsider. Comments like this fellow's remarks - nothing new.
@jtccvideo I agree. I was born in the area and moved away when I was 17. I visit often but find the locals, in many cases, to be be bitter and jealous of anyone else's success. The town was dead in the 1950s but came back when outsiders invested money in the town. The jealousy and bitterness exists throughout the area because those that stayed behind, except for local professionals, made very little money in dead end jobs, which is not entirely their fault. .
Please don't come here, I live here, it sucks, and we hate the tourists. So again please never come here.

Shame how a town capitalized from the death of the world's greatest athlete. I hope that his son can get him reburied in Oklahoma where he was born.
