-I used Maya to make the animation, and imovie to edit.

-I used directional lighting, a few spot lights, and one point light for the flare at the end.

-I modeled the meteorite from a polygon sphere.

LOL, In reality, I think if he brought all that gold to earth it would throw the world economy into chaos. Gold is only worth so much because it's rare. If you just all the sudden brought that much gold to earth, it would probably make gold be worth as much as aluminum.
