I think you can do it with any bike but not with karts.

It's probably because of our position before the shortcut. Make sure your not too close to the ramp or too far. Check where he stops and try it again.

YES!! I just did it three times! What helped me was you said, "aim for the middle of the block". so when i looked in time trials i did exactly that and i got it on the first try ^^. of course i fell like the next 10 times but i'll get it =D i'll keep practicing and i'll surely beat my fastest time. Thanks again ^^

It's slightly different without a mushroom, though. U_U If you just use your mini-boost from a standstill, you don't jump off with enough speed to make it to the other side. You rely on the angle much more heavily, thus you need to find a VERY exact spot to jump from.
