is it possible to not only link the KP3 with the K-PRO for the insane effect capabilities, but to also after they are linked use the K-pro as a midi controller for a desktop synth module or a rack synth module such as the ROLAND JP 8080? if so, is there a way (perhaps a mixer) to not only use the K-PRO as just for a midi controller, but also to use the effects and sample banks of the KP3 along with the sounds from the rack synth mod engine to sound the 3 units together without a midi keyboard?
MIDI compatibility was one of the main features we thought would improve the Kaossilator, so the arrival of MIDI ports on the Pro got us seriously excited. Unfortunately, it doesn't support standard note data. The X-Y coordinates are instead sent and received as CC values, meaning that if you want to play the internal synth instruments using a MIDI controller or DAW you'll need to find a way of converting notes to CC.
Still wondering if I should get this. I'm very frustrated, I just wanted something to noodle with on stage. I ask other musicians and they say why would I want this when I have a ton of synths???Well after many years of playing you tend to develop all sorts of hand and arm problems. gliding my finger across a pad to do a lead line sounds like a nice break every once and a while. I don't need the beats that's what a drummer is for. I have a bassist/guitarist.
Im sorry but out of all the sounds he used, I only find two or three of them caught my ears the rest are just pointless effects for anyone in the music business and would be good for a little joke around but that is my opinion and I am not a global DJ or producer to criticize as much as others! I just think the Kaosspad 3 is better; that is just my opinion! :)
why just 200 sounds/programs...? on this big thing, they could have crammed so much more in there.. why limit themselves to 200 when the small pocketsized kaoss has 99 programs... Maybe the kaossilator lacked som features, but it most of all lacked different synth sounds, and drum sounds.. But dont get me wrong, i want this badly but kp3 first
@Mahetae i got myself a Micro korg and iv just been trying to learn piano chords and scales and along with the kaoss pads and electribes, ow and the mpc5000 im learning all about synths. pretty exciting i think

you dont have to press record to loop internal sounds. just hold down the bank button and play your sound and it will auto record while you hold it
