She documents how this 'repatriation' scheme was promoted by The Japanese Government, and the Japanese media.
Isn't it so hypocritical behaviours for japs claiming about megumi's disappearance?
Japan itself denied apologying 200,000 sexual slaveries raped brutally by japanese military soldiers not considering those women's human rights.
Well there were over 200,000 women from China,Korea,Taiwan,Philipines,Dutch,American,Australia,Netherland,Burma...etc..etc, who were forced as sex slaveries by Japnese military in ww2.
Don't japanese feel hurt at all to those women?LOL

i have to say that i feel really sorry for this girl
but the japanese society should look at their past and think how many much more brutal cases than this one their army did in asia.
japanese people: the greed of the japanese government brought the hiroshima and nagasaki bombs as the karmic justice of the asian butchery perpetrated by the imperial army.
japanese people: your leaders failed you in the past and keep saying lies to you about it.
@nerdotron You believe the bombs were "karmic justice"? You're disgusting. How many of the people killed in those bombings were personally involved with the imperial army? North Korean kidnappings have nothing to do with WWII and everything to do with North Korea's contempt for the rest of the world. Looking at your profile you seem to be all about Anti-Japanese propaganda.
Nobody deserves to pay for the sins of their ancestors.
think about how many wives of imperial army soldiers died in hiroshima and nagasaki. now think about how many wives of chinese, korean thai, philipino, etc, men were raped tortured and killed by the same japanese soldiers.
the imperial army soldier (like the majority of human beings) doesn't feel the pain he is producing until it reflects into his own life.
karma doesn't distinguish between innocent or guilty.

You're ignorant to how things are in Japan. Japan denies their atrocities and are unrepentant. They say they didn't kidnap 5.4 million Koreans, they didn't massacre civilians in Korea and China, and claim that forced sexual slaves were common prostitutes. To back up their impossible denials Japan claims that all the old and dying first hand witnesses are liars. Add to the farce the Japanese claim that they already apologized and paid Korea... for things they didn't do... it's total nonsense.

You look to the future learning from past mistakes and evils so that the same mistakes won't be made again. We should remember the Holocaust and perpetually condemn what the Nazis did. But Japan hasn't even begun to make full admission. It's like a murderer who claims he never committed murder, the victim wanted to be murdered and that he's paid the victim's surviving family for their loss so we should all just forget about the murder that he never committed all at the same time.
sigh..... I bet even if Japan apologized, you would still hate Japan. It's ok, all asian countries hate Japan and I guess that's how it always will be. I hope Megumi comes home safe by the way. So a murderer doesn't have to pay for his crimes because the victims family won't forgive him??? A bully doesn't have to apologize for doing wrong if the injured kids are still mad at him? That is DERANGED, DISTURBING, IMMORAL thinking. You would find individuals giving excuses like that despicable let alone an entire nation! Stop blabbering about peace when you're defending Japan. You need to start acknowledging Japan's "mistakes", aka gross war atrocities and own up to Japan's hypocritical denial and whitewashing of the evils committed against Korea, China and scores of other countries before you start talking about "peace" and "love". Denying having killed, tortured, abducted millions isn't very peaceful nor loving.
If a bully beat up Jesus, and he never apologised, but became a kind person later on in life. Do you think that Jesus would stay angry at him or be happy that he changed his ways?
Insulting the Japanese people now is like saying that all white people are rascists because they kidnapped millions of black people from Africa and turned them into slaves. HAHAHAHA but seriously people...

I feel bad for all victims of evil. But Japan as a nation has no cause to complain when Japanese politicians and academics OPENLY deny Japan's despicable war atrocities. That's not counting millions of non-Korean victims and the millions killed, tortured, murdered, dissected alive, etc.. The hypocrisy is mind-blowing.

Japan is morally bankrupt and has is not in a position to complain. The hypocrisy is overwhelming. Japan denies, whitewashes and justifies having abducted over 4.5 million Koreans into forced labor including sexual slavery without batting an eye including millions more tortured, murdered, dissected alive. But when 13-19 Japanese are abducted, majority of whom were returned alive, Japan expects sympathy? The immense hypocrisy turns personal tragedy of 19 abductees into an international farce.

You and Japanese ignore the gunshot wounds that are gushing brains and guts and insist on fretting over a little scratch. It's illogical and immoral.
Koreans in Japan are nothing more than economic immigrants and war refugees. What Koreans call abductees are requisitioned ppl by Japanese government in war time. But the requisitioned Koreans were only 2,000 ppl and they went back to Korea after the war except 245 ppl who remained at Japan by own will. And they were all Japanese national at the time because Korea was a part of Japan. And what Koreans call sex slaves were sex workers who were recruited by newspaper ads. They were not sex slaves.

Hysteria over abduction of a few dozen people, let alone this single girl, is ridiculous when the Japanese abducted 4.5 million Koreans and themselves and have yet to even admit to their atrocities. This wouldn't be ridiculous if NK abducted a few thousand Megumis and forced them into sexual slavery. But bitching about one girl when Japan still refuses to own upto its own atrocities is downright ridiculous and morally disgusting.
This is Japanese Govt propaganda! This movie is based on a true story but it is intended to illicit sympathy for Japan. Safari Media got funding from the GOJ and continues to be slapped in the face with the hypocrisy of what is REALLY going on with regard to Japan and abductions. These pathetic filmakers are more americans who sold out our country for money. Japanese have abducted 10s of thousands of children worldwide, and it is all supported by the J-govt. Just look at FBI Most Wanted.
Its surprising how Chris and Patty found out they could promote their personal careers by turning a blind-eye to the hypocrisy of Japans abduction propaganda agenda, and by using the Yokotas story. These are Americans?! Over 1000 children PER YEAR are abducted to Japan from their homes all over the world. Japan has never returned ONE. Every year over 100 American children are abducted from the US alone, NOT ONE has ever been returned, in spite of State Dept, FBI, and Interpol demands.
I am not ASKING if Japan sanctions international child abductions, I am STATING it with qualified documented fact. If you want proof, just go to FBI's most wanted pages and look at all of the Japanese wanted for child abductions. 1 US govt study done in 1993, estimates that at least 150 US children per year are abducted by Japanese citizens.Or go to the US Dept of State website page on Japan where they warn "we know of not1 US child returned from japan thru legal or diplomatic means"
Proof is everywhere, the fact that you would even ask, shows how the information is sanitized by the Govt of Japan all the time. But its a different world now on the internet...they cant hide it all anymore. Many Japanese citizens find it so incredulous and offensive that even they deny it. But the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo just held a symposium on March 14th where numerous countries joined together in a global demarche of Japans continued sanctioning of Intl child abductions by J-citizens.

The Chongryon freaks are in Japan because the majority of the 4.5 million Koreans forcibly abducted were moved to Japan. They're in Japan because Japan put them there. And it doesn't matter if Chongryon wants to send money and crap to North Korea. US and South Korea didn't allow any such crap but Japan did. Japanese complaining about NK abductions or Chongryon is like you taking a shit in your pants and them complaining of the shit smell.
oh this was wrong what north korea did but i really think what japan did to the whole nation of korea is much much worse, I think what Joseph Stalin once said,

North Korea is a real terrorist nation.
South Korea is supporting this terrorist nation.
South Korea are enjoying close ties with North Korea.
In fact they are joint illegal occupants of Japanese small islands.
We must kick out all Koreans from Japan.
They are supporting nuclear development and terror activity of North Korea.
They are trying to hijack our nation too.
They are one of biggest enemies against Japan's national security and sovereignty.

Are you stupid??? LOL. SK and US rarely conducts communication even at a diplomatic level. Not even a piece of mail has crossed the border since the Korean war. Japan on the other hand sent millions of cash, trade goods and tourists to North Korea for the last 40 years!!! Japan has been the biggest source of foreign cash and resources for NK for the last 40 years. LOL. Welcome to reality.

So I'm saying that we must kick out all Korean from Japan.
Koreans in Japan abducted Japanese citizens in collaboration with North Korean spys.
They sent money and everything they need for nuclear development to North Korea from Japan.
But they have to pay a price for everything they did in Japan.

Japanese complaining about NK abductions or Chongryon is like you taking a shit in your pants and them complaining of the shit smell.

oh this was wrong what north korea did but i really think what japan did to the whole nation of korea is much much worse, I think what Joseph Stalin once said,
"Kill one person and it's a nation tragic but kill million of people then it just a number"

Dear crnjapan,
If you keep trying to hijack the issue, I cannot support you stance on 'parental abduction' issue either.

Dear crnjapan,
Among abductees by North Korea, Yokota Megumi was
exceptionally young who was 13 yrs old at her disappearance.
Next youngest was Hitomi Soga who was 19 yrs old and later married to a US army deserter.
So, The nature of North Korea's abduction is not really 'parental abduction' nor 'child abduction'.
It's rather similar that US abducted Iraqis to Guantanamo Bay.
(,though I don't like this analogy myself and I don't want to call US 'hypocrite'.)

North Korea did a horrible thing. But Japan has kidnapped more children from overseas than Noth Korea ever did and will not return them despite arrest warrants.

Are you referring about Korean people in Japan?
They came to Japan in their intention, and be residual.
There is a lot of evidences, and persons in question also admit it.

There were many Koreans that moved to Japan on their own although a majority of them moved back. However, in addition to the voluntary migration Japan abducted and forced 4.5 million Koreans into slave labor including working in death camps, mines, sexual slavery, biological test subjects, etc..
