Caught one of these pesky buggers attacking my dog by my self. It was real pissed. Every time I poked it with a stick it'd lash out and jump. ended up quickly grabbing it with my hands and threw it in the bucket. Released it at the park accorss the road.
I hope you released it very nearby. Male and female of this species (shinglebacks/sleepy lizard/pinecone lizard) pair up in a "monogamous" bond. They don't have anywhere dear as many offspring as a 'normal' bluetongue, either.
that is not a bue tongue lizard if you look closely and research it is a shingleback lizard if you noticed SUCKER!!! anyway blue tongue lizards and shingleback lizards are from the same family and that is definitely a shingleback lizard. SUCKER!!!. If a shingleback lizard or a blue tongue lizard nites you you can get a rash. They have razor sharp gums which dig into you when you are being biten. If you want to find out something research it peoples lol cyas
Mine never locks. If u meet one again then this is a simple way. Place ur hand above them, let it see it. Then move ur hand behind its head, and grab its, they cant jump, and there u go!
Well you are right, but if you get bit by any lizard that will lock on your hand or finger, touch their tail and they will come around and investigate what's touching it's tail. That does actually work. Trust me i know alot about reptiles, kept them since i was 7
Actually there was three of us and i'd like to see you grab one. When these things bite you they get lock jaw and don't let go..... Stupid looking dangerous suckers......

Mate, these things get lock jaw when they bite, you cant get it off without harming the animal, a rake and bucket is much more humane

Dude I have three of these as pets. Their bites are easy to avoid, and they calm down after a few minutes.

I just take my shirt off and pick them up with it. Once they are covered/can't see, they calm down. Real men aren't afraid to pick up a lizard :)
