  • Thanks. Im a fat piece of shit and need to get in shape.

  • Mmm, mmm, mmm, that was instructional. Thanks guys! :P

  • That was a half-sit up.

  • thanks, works great!

  • Right now Im doing crunches, sit-ups AND an oblique exercise. What works best crunches or sit-ups ? Because I wanna know if Im wasting energy doing both crunches AND sit-ups.

  • he shoulda called no homo when he said his abs were hard as a rock...

  • @itsmeatwad1992 exactly what i was thinking

  • could someone please tell me what is a better method of getting a 6 pack, crunches or sit ups. thanks

  • @MRLUCKYSEVANS Crunches

  • @MRLUCKYSEVANS Why choose between them? Do both. Crunches target your abs more than sit-ups though.

  • Wow looks like Ronnie from Jersey Shore.

  • Should I tense while doing these or situps

  • he looks like ronny from jershey shore kinda

  • So glad I didn't attempt pushups before this vid, time to start the summer workout

  • Reminder to anyone watching: watch more videos like this before you start working out. Because chances that you may have done hundreds of wrong sit ups in a week thinking you were doing it right. :|

  • @Iwasbornpisces by wrong do you mean you were pulling your head, didnt go all the way up or what? i cant tell if im doing right or wrong since i dont see myself while doing it?

  • When I do this is do feel my abdominals burning, but I also feel pain in either my back or my neck, depending on how I raise my upper body.

Am I supposed to feel pain in both my abdominals and back?

  • does this help your lower abs i did a 100 just as a test and i feel mostly my upper abs hurting. they seem easy to me and im not that strong

  • Umm , do I have to pull my stomach in when I go up ? :S I was kinda scared if I don't , it will effect my stomach afterwards . Heh

  • holy fuck!!! i could do wrong 70 crunches in a row and i was so happy cause i thought im doing so good!! i did 20 of those and i was dying!! LOL THANkS SO MUCH!

  • @LatestUpdatesFTW

LOL same here :D i always was like "bahaa i can do 100 situps a day 8)" and now WTF :D

  • If I don't tuck my head in (the way you said was a no-go) it hurts my neck. Suggestions?

  • Anyone can answer my question ?

--> when i do crunches, my neck aches too, a little more than my stomach. Is there something im doing wrong or is it normal ?

  • @rockers115 defo wrong. u should feel no neck pain. ur are using ur neck muscles which is bad. u should be only using ur abdominals

  • guy doing the crunches looks like Ronnie

  • Thumbs up if you laughed when he said, "hard as a rock"

  • Thanks for this, first was doing literally probably 300 situps daily with a little effect since I already have low body fat, but it wasn't doing much. Did about 10 of these and was already feeling a burn I couldn't get with hundreds of situps lol

  • Verrie nice 

  • LOL only 20-50 crunches a day? thats nothing compared to what i do...i do 400per day..

  • @kevinbrryan I can do a thousand now.

  • @MadM4X939 very nice. But crunches aren't the only thing i do.

  • @kevinbrryan yeah but i know MadM4X939 and hes seriously got an eight pack shits crazy he did 200 lbs on the cable crunch 50 times without breaking a sweat

  • @MadM4X939

    Oh no! It's Patrick Bateman!

  • thax sounds good

  • what is that water place under your arm

  • So THAT's the way to do it. Tnx for posting!

  • i have been doing wrong crunches for over a year now and i was like WHY THE HELL ISNT MY ABS SHOWING !!!!??? thank you youtube ;p

  • whenever i do crunches my neck starts to hurt. is that because my neck muscles are too weak. or am i using my head to much?

  • @guitarphreak101 youre probably pulling your head with your arms

  • i thought it was you should cross your legs and keep your feet off the ground that is how we do in football.

  • nice workout, all those bitches were doing some stupid wrong crunches

  • ok, im not sure if ur supposed to feel the burn right away, or if it takes time?

  • Thank you. I've been taught how to do situps correctly, the way you've shown, but I used this page to show someone who has been trying to teach my team how to do them the wrong way (with arms down, a curved back, & knees bent too high).

  • Should the sholders tuch the floor any time we go up and the down ???????????

  • omg this video helped me a lot .. thkss

  • i got a 3 pack by doing these incorrect but now i know and evrybody says running up stairs helps

  • @Beavisfan23 thts not posile man its just ur genetics u have crooked abs, its not a bad thing i have the same :)

  • it feels like im cumming lol

  • what if you do them and dont feel much of a burn? Is it still working.

  • @Quake2815 never mind it works

  • I have a one pack! LOL

  • @carnypimp hehe lol

  • what about situps thought?

  • he is touching him beavis, hrrrr hrrrr hrrrrrrrrr :)

  • Thanks Jacob.

  • nice work asshole

  • Thanks im going to do this over summer to get my 4 pack to a 6 pack

    nice one guys!

  • lol i did it the wrong way all these whiles. I exhale and inhale the other way round

  • 20 crunshes feels like 200 sit ups!

  • i was wondering if the way i do sit ups is right.. i do a regular sit up but instead of letting my back touch the floor i go back up for another sit up n i repeat that it really burns at around 20 sit ups so is that a proper way of doing sit ups?

  • I get that you do "20 reps", but should I be doing 3 sets of 20 reps like I would for another workout?

  • there is no right or wrong way to do ab exercises... slow and fast reps will give differnt results to differnt muscle structure... mix slow and fast reps and that will give results and pulling the neck is just going to cheat your exercise... as long as it burns the correct way (not a strenuous way) then your doin it right

  • what's the name of the guy wearing green shirt?

  • ahhhhh I love the burn, feels like sex to me

  • @NoelLozano I know rite? Its almost addictive

  • Situp is pretty much going out of style. Crunches are becoming popular.

  • what happend to the sit ups? read the title. Lol but most people do know how to do them

  • I'm almost sure I've been doing it wrong based on this video but I feel the burn and I feel the tightness in my stomach throughout the day after doing it the 'wrong way' does that mean I'm doing SOMETHING right??

  • I been doing it wrong but i gotta say it works im skinner

  • working out your abs has nothing to do with being skinnier. The only way to get skinnier is to be in a calorie deficit and therefore you will lose fat all over your body, not just one spot. So your abs might be stronger but doing this exercise will not make you skinnier.

  • thanx it's work

  • Thanks, I feel it!

  • Ouch....

  • does your shoulder blade ever touch the floor?

  • my back hurts when i do this lol

  • the pain will stop once your body starts getting used to this movement, I'm no expert, but if you're doing it the right way, you won't always be in pain I promise.

  • yes, it did, thanks anyway

  • i always make sure my head touch my knee , damn noone told me i was wrong thank you

  • They're more effective when you curl the head in regardless of what all the trainers keep saying. The lecture is -your body isn't meant to move that way.

If that were true, it COULDN'T move that way.

I find they're far less effective with this technique.

  • DOES NOT LOOK FUN

  • so you DONT go up all the way?

  • @melonsgurl5 because they are crunches... sit ups are where you put your lowerback all the way up. difference is crunches reduce the chance of injury, and sit ups increase the chance of injury on your lowerback.

  • How many reps for this!

  • kewl

  • zzz exercising is harder then i thought

  • @bluespirtsam LOL

  • @higginbotham31

glad i made some 1 laugh xP

  • somebody wanna tell me the diff btween crunches with feet in the air vs. crunches with feet on the flo

  • so only the shoulders get off the ground??

  • The ironic thing is that before I saw this video, I had done 100 incorrect crunches. I'm glad you guys posted this, lol.

  • Yes me too!

Ive been suffering strain at the back of my neck as a result of 400 incorrect crunches day and evening!

  • @HellyEatsJelly exactly the same :-)

  • @HellyEatsJelly That isn't ironic?

  • @HellyEatsJelly same here lmfao

  • @HellyEatsJelly 100!!!?!?!??!?

    i couldnt get past 10...

  • when you do it like that will it hurt my neck? cause the way ive been doing it its been killing my neck..

  • well lets see when i do them of course it seems to be really tense on my abs... i have abs but i need to lose some fat... other then running how could i lose fat working out?!?! is there a exercise like of some sort is running and proper diet the best way... cuz im going to start running and i bench and do other shit like that all day or alot ha but yeah answer on my profile if u have any answers or suggestions

  • i've been doing crunches wrong!!

  • Whenever I do slow crunches, my muscles twitch on the way back from the upright position to the flat position.

It's like I can't get myself to move smoothly, my body jitters when doing it slow. Hard to explain. Any suggestions?

  • You're getting used to it.

    Just keep with it.

  • i have a question!

Is it dangerous if i do it? (i'm 13)

    is this better than situps?

And i want a smaller belly xD

I got a litle fat after the summer :P

  • its not dangerous

    just dont over do it

    and stretch first

dont worry u wont have a heart attack

  • its not an ideal way to lose fat, the best way is just to run

  • me too

  • be honest does this help tone your stomach cause i dont wanna do it if im not gonna get any results and btw im a girl and i feel some pressure under my boobs does that mean its working??

  • some pressure loooooooool u might be doing some work then lol

  • I appreciate the part at :58 for saying do it slow. I've seen some other videos where they rush through.

    Thanks. That made the difference.!

  • this helped a lot :) tnx... i shall do them right now!:)

  • Ya same here!

    Thanks.

  • actually holding your head strains your neck & could cause neck problems.

  • mm too right, crossing your arms over your chest is the best way

  • Quick tip for anyone doing these exercises.

You may have heard this many times before but i cannot stress how bad situps are for you!

When I first started all this, I was doing around 50-100 situps a day, not crunches. And because of this, I'm in pain because my lower spine hurts so much.

Sure these crunches don't look intense but trust me; 20-50 crunches is harder than 100-200 sit ups, it stops you from cheating yourself because your not bouncing your back off the floor when doing them.

  • thanks! i didnt know that! hahaha(:

  • yah, i used to be doing 100 situps a day, it took ages to get my abs to even show, now im doing 20-50 crunches a day its really working

  • are crunches really a faster way to get abs?

  • well, depends how hard you work, but crunches seemed to work for me, but they focus on your lower abs, situps focus on higher abs mainly but they do all round, but still crunches seem to work for me

  • yea it does take a long time for your abs to start showing, it took me well over 2000 to get just the middle line and a bit more

  • it's beautiful seeing guys in love

  • the difference between a sit up and a crunch is that crunches dont hurt your back as much and situps dont really improve your abs. and if you hurt your back while doing crunches, use a carpet or something soft on the ground. and a reason why your feeling development on your other side than the other is because you might depend on that side more than the other.

  • do u have to have ur hands behind ur head or can u have them on your chest im confused

  • either way works

  • that irratating. for the past 6 weeks i've been doing 30 sit ups beffore sleeping, and i kept my legs staright, and put my arms forward and get half way up.

  • I heard that placing the arms behind your head could cause lower back pains in the future, is this true?

  • Only if you pull your head up. Like he said in the video, DON'T pull your head up, just touch your hands on your head, no pulling.

  • Yes

  • i always try to do crunches, but end up hurting my back.

  • dont you have to have your lower back pushed to the ground to while doing this

  • Yes. As flat as you can get it across the ground. And whenever you come up from the crunch you must not bend your back or head otherwise your just bending your spine, not working your abs.

  • alright i was just checking thanks.

  • Glad to help ;)

  • This looks correct...this is how I learned it from my tennis teacher =P

  • thanks for the videos i was doing them wrong until you showed me, my abs now actually feel the burn, i'm gonna do this everyday hopefully i'll get results

  • I feel that my right side is more developed when I do crunches, I don't know why I'm having a hard time keeping my body equal when I'm doing this. Are there any other tips besides the ones in the video?

  • sharing the issue,. any tips would be great

  • what is the difference between sit up and crunch?

  • A sit up is done with the whole upper body lifted of the ground, while the crunch, as seen from this video, only the upper of the upper half body lifts off.

Sit up uses both the ads and hips flexor muscles, while crunches only uses the abs.

Hope this helps. You can find out more on wikipedia.

  • So what's the benefits of this compared to, say, sit ups?

  • Not Trying to be rude fellas, But as they told me in the marines, its called commitment, your body can take alot more than you think, one more thing I forgot to mention, Eat at least 3 full meals a day, or intake lots of protein, cuz the first couple of weeks youll be in pain, But Berkerboy, YOU CAN DO IT BUDDY, these aint sit ups there crunches, alot easier on the back

  • you sound like you know what youre talking about. im a 15 year old kid who doesnt want go to get ripped, just in shape. how long of a break should i take between sets?

  • about 5 mins at the most, dont break too long, cuz you want your bodys adrenaline to still be rising, If it dies down, your boy goes to rest and recovery mode, then you dont wanna do cruches anymore,or any thing else.Trust me man, it will cut you up,in about 4- 6 weeks

  • i have a crush on the instructor

  • so what......

  • thanks

  • O.K. if it's for women, then what about men?

  • how many should you do?

  • Depends, are you trying to get a six pack, or are you just trying to stay fit,If youre trying to burn it all off, do 5 sets of 100 every night, or 3 nights outta the week, And Make sure you drink water an hour before and between sets, This will dehydrate you! In a few weeks youll start to see lines forming in your stomach, then your natures sixer will appear, and the ladies will notice!!

  • about how long should the routine you mentioned start to show a difference?

  • If you're starting out from scratch, there is 0% chance of you being able to execute 500 proper crunches in a night. Not a hope. You need to build up; start with 2 or 3 sets of 20, stepping up every week or so.

  • Omg always a I dont have a chance to do this many remarks,Again If you do them in Sets YOU CAN DO THEM,And again, drink lots of water and hour before, and then drink small amounts between sets, , And dont stop when you feel a burn, Burn is good

  • lol i was doing them wrong :/

    thanks for this vid

  • is this marine corps, because i can't tell.

  • HELL NO, I was in Marine crop boot, marines will kick your ass!!! This is just a gym training routine!! If you ever go to the marines, remember this, the more you eat that day, The more activity and exercise you do!!

  • i was just there 30 seconds ago

  • is a situp the same as a crunch? o.o

  • No in a situp you bring your whole upper body including your lower back of the floor, bringing your whole chest towards your knees.

A crunch is just your shoulders and upper/middle back.

  • try starting in crunched position then let yourself down, BUT do not let your lower back arch toward your belly! allow spine to straighten while inhaling, return to start position then exhale. stretch out before and after lots of water!!

  • so i should lift up untill only my lower back is on the ground?

  • Ive noticed that if you try crunches as situps, youll end up very unnecessarily achy. It may be a true pain to cross your arms forward, but it sure gets the job done if youre dedicated.

  • Ive been told to breathe through the nose????

  • is your back sopost to hurt????

  • are crunches only for women or something why does it keep saying that

  • The camp is for women. No exercise is solely for either gender.

  • mal sehn obs bei mit klappt..

  • That crunch is the toddler crunch... Both knees bent places tremendous load on the lowback... That's a NO GO... Try having one leg straight with hands under lowerback for support.. That is the correct abdominal crunch.

  • you sure about that? I've been doing crunches for years and have never had even the tiniest hint of any back pain or anything whilst doing it, just my abdominals.

  • Yep... Research with EMG and other screening data show bent knees places the same if not more stress than straight legs... And you are one of the lucky ones then... If your'e ok walking that fine line, be my guest.. I'd rather not take any chances... I'd rather know things the best way known for our era and know I did things the smartest way possible.. With that, there is no regret.

  • Ah fair enough then, i do alot of core exercises and stuff so maybe that helps me as well. Always good to learn new things though

  • what are other good core exercises?

  • do flutters. lay flat on your back. flutter your calfs up and down

  • do crunches make your stomach bigger and stronger or does it just make your abdominals and stomach harder

  • they will make them bigger and stronger which in turn will make your stomach harder.

  • nice video thanks

  • really thx for the clip :P never heard of crunches before just done situps hehe ^^

  • thank you so much it really helps the best way ive seen yet thank you
