this is just fasinating to me it reminds me of the BBC soapopera called ROME......a very elegant soapopera....we need bigger hairdos....he did attend school early on in Indonesia and then expensive private HS in Hawaii. The birth certificate is a bullshit argument. His mother was a US citizen at the time of birth, ergo he's a US citizen.

As to the constitution; it's ammendable. What part of that is mystifying? IT'S AMMENDABLE. It's not set in stone, it's not unalterable and it's not "treason" to change it IF enough votes can be obtained to do so.

I keep hearing that the requirements that were in force from Dec. 24, 1952 to Nov. 13, 1986, encompassing the time of Obama's birth, state, "If only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least 10 years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16."

"I keep hearing..." there's a word for that: hearsay. It's a law isn't it? So... PROVE IT.

BUT even if that IS true, there's no reason that Barack could not have been naturalized at a later date. The Presidential requirements are there to prevent foreign nationals from essentially buying their way into the presidency, it relates to ADULTS. For someone like Arnold it's a valid and legitimate concern. In Obama's case it's just pettiness and sour grapes from the political right.

Well, it's documented that Obama was an Indonesian citizen when he was in school there, and he traveled to Pakistan when U.S. citizens could not, and he's shown no evidence of becoming naturalized as a U.S. citizen. All he's provided is that lame certification of live birth. It's got no signature and the certificate number is blacked out and I could have made the thing in photoshop. This ain't sour grapes from the political right, this is about meeting the requirements to run for president.

Multiple citizenships are easily obtained, particularly for children.

And if it's not sour grapes, why the continued extraneous emphasis on Obama's middle name? Yes, it's HUSSEIN... an unbelievably common name in the middle east, so common his middle name might as well be "Dave".

I have no probem with anyone who wants to be critical of Obama's policies or governance but these issues come off as petty, nitpicks from bruised conservative egos.

@33rdPatriot If you really subscribe to that theory (and insofar as corporate influence is concerned I would certainly agree) then why even bother to remark on the legitimacy of the presidency? Given those over-arching influences, NO presidency can ever truely be considered legitimate when puppeteered parties offer up pre-digested candidates to an ignorant populace.

"Choose between lying criminal A and lying criminal B". Not exactly a good set of options...

@Capng123 Your argument is belittled by Obama's other blatant attacks against the Constitution. 1. Appointing Hillary to an unconstitutional position. 2. the entire gaffe with misspeaking his Oath. 3. the second gaffe with not swearing on a Bible during the re-take of his Oath. 4. The many, many, many other slights and squabbles caused on purpose. The citizenship thing is one small part, a big part on its own as JM explains, but a small overall part.
