  • I really like this kind of build actually. If you say he uses this build all the time, then what would be super effective is if he were to do a worm drop into the minerals. That would throw him off enough to rush out with more lings in the front and take out a expo or main base minerals.

  • A few things you said wrong force, its not 40 supply, its 40-44 workers. He always selects all his workers to see his worker-count. When you have your first 100 gas you spend that on Lair and after that speed, Evo chambers should go down when you start teching lair. Else but that you are very informative and fun to watch =) keep it up

  • @F4tsug oh damn i forgot, he does 13 hatch 15 pool aswell =) the 16 hatch 15 pool is the old version. He started 13 hatching because it won't get blocked as often.

  • @sfgjoel Rush or early marine push. 2 rax is a pretty good counter, if u know how to micro away from those spine crawlers and get behind the minerals line, forcing him stop creating workers and if u could... try and take down the expo.

  • FORCE youre forgetting one thing. it is very common for spanishiwa to get an evolution chamber pretty early if he scouts anything close to a dt rush. dt rush or cloak banshee rushes do not require gas to defend. just a spore at each base

  • @icecold338 queens actually are exellecnt to kil voids or banshees 2 queens can kill like 4 banshees if they have transfuse. i blocked off like a 10 void ray with 10 queens. he lost about 7 voids and i lost about 5 queens. queens are cheaper and dont need gas.

  • Everyone is hatin' on Spanishiwa. He is a Grand Master player and has beaten many veteran Zerg players with his own Zerg build, obviously proving he knows what he's is doing. He has won quite a few matches against LiquidTLO/TheLittleOne, who is known for he insane builds and counter-tactics. So when you bitch about this build and "laugh at it when I see it in ladder", clearly you're in bronze, 'cause Spanishiwa don't fuck up, son.

  • Love how you made an official Spanishiwa strat video! A little weak on the transfuse. During that initial 4 Gate push, transfuse was critical. Also, don't forget: Nydus Worms can connect distant bases! Otherwise perfect cast! Very helpful! Thank you! ^_^

  • hold workers because the enemy units wont attack them unless they individually click on them. expanding on the other side of the map because he is getting banelings and zerglings. this means that if protoss moves across the map spanishiwa will kill his workers or army with a full surrond. NOT TO HIDE IT. The first attack is to lower the sentry count. That is the entire purpose. if you have luck kill him if you kill sentries, tech and kill him(roach/hydra/whatever).

  • spanishiwa build = Build 10 spines make drones for 15 minutes nonstop, turtle like a BAWS, make brood lords @ 20 minute mark, win the game... so much skill involved. All bronze/silver shitters copying it lol. Id love to see spanishiwa get owned by Select or boxer with 5 attacks at the same time lol... see what the spines will be good for then.

  • @tranquiliz3r23 Spanishiwa is better than that. He is able to do this in large part because of his scouting; otherwise, this wouldn't work like in the Bronze league because his opponents are too skilled. After all, how can you defend against anything with 15 minutes worth of drones? I think his track record speaks for itself.

  • @PhazonOmega Don't believe everything you hear. Watch spans live stream and see he loses a lot with this build. Early game aggression is deadly in the higher ranks too.

  • @SovietSlayer Haven't had the opportunity to see any live spans. Do you have any links or anything?

    I have seen his record, and he wins at least half his games. And since I began using his build, I suddenly became better. From everything I've seen, it's precisely the kind of play that I always wanted to go for, and is actually more how Zerg works, and is supposed to be played, I think.

    I think it's a good basic play at the least, and there is more to it than simple turtling.

  • @PhazonOmega yes he is better than bronze and silver players... but he can do this build as much as he wants versus good players... he will get roflstomped as everyone knows what he will be doing. In ladder, I love it when people do his build to be honest. Mech play (bf hellions+tanks+marines for any mutas) destroys this build if the zerg is not skilled enough.

  • @tranquiliz3r23 Spanishiwa is in grandmasters league, so obviously he's not bad, and his build works better than many players like to give it credit for. Against terran, zerg doesn't need as many spines. Just get enough to hold off early marine/hellion harass and the rest of the game is set as traditional muta/ling/bling cleans up terran pretty hard. Only time terran can win against this build is when doing early all-in tank push or unscouted mass mech, but part of this build is great scouting.

  • @PhazonOmega the words we should concentrate on are "SHOW" and "MATCH". It's obvious that TLO will be TLO in a showmatch, fucking around for the shit of it. The thing that this amazing zerg player (spanishiwa) that all bronzers and silvers hold as a God, is a mere mediocre player. His record in tournaments and cups speaks for itself... OH WAIT HE DIDN'T WIN ANYTHING. By the way, fyi, there are variations of a mech play.

And you can tell that *SPOILER* after Spanishiwa beat TLO 4 times in a row and had the 7 game match, as they went on to complete the 7 games he started being lax. Anyone can critique him all they want; but to call Spanishiwa a noobish player even though he's in Grandmaster and can crush some of the best players is at least not polite. It certainly isn't true.   • @PhazonOmega just so you know, Grand Master when you are talking about pro gaming doesn't mean sh!t. Spanishiwa playing a normal zerg build that doesn't involve turtling and going for fast tier 3 units while letting spines do the hard work would get murdered by a decent player. The same concept applies to those bronze terrans that sit in their base with 20 turrets and 10 siege tanks to deny any harass while rushing for mass Battle Cruisers. Where is the skill in that style of play?

  • @tranquiliz3r23 its actually quite simple, zerg is quite weak against 4 gate and doing an agressive build is suicide knowing this. further, getting unupraged zerglings is hardly turtling, it is the protoss player fault for attacking in that situation. and by the looks of it he didnt actually get to teir 3 or fast teir 2 (ie no gas). and getting spines is like a protoss getting cannons for a FE, theres nothing wrong with that.

  • @iSim0641 Mass Queens. Have one more queen than he has Void Rays and use Transfusion.

  • @iSim0641 generally would transition into a roach/hydra if that happened, as long as there aren't many pheonix with the voidrays, queens are pretty good. Just depends on how many how fast.

  • @iSim0641 queens really kill voidrays but if he continues getting voidrays so he gets many you might wannt drop a spore crawler or two and maybe also go muta or hydra roach. since you already are going speedling baneling i think muta is the best. if he gets one gate two stargate wich happens in bronze. just attack with your lings right away. he prbably cant kill tham as in bronze he wont have amazing micro skills and voidrays suck at killing lings.

  • @kaine180 I would imagine if your opponent went quick air, you'd bring your queens to deal with it and transfuse if one of them would die.

  • @CloneCharlz Spanishiwa is known for having many, many queens for defense and creep spread. 1 Queen will take out a Banshee, and 2 will take out a void ray. Scouting is also a main part of his game play, so he'd see it coming and have time to produce Queens and Overseers. Hope this helped! :D

  • @MrMoldyapple you cant really tell if they are going cloaked banshee with the 1st scout and 2nd scout normally base blocked off, and that lair tech is way late, cloaked banshee comes in play way before that :S lol

  • Well,technically Force,zerg playrs build units from their Hatcheries,so it's alot easier to defend expansions as zerg.

  • This video shows you how broken zerg are,being able to drone up all they wish, and defend with speedlings: The most OP, and broken unit in the whole game.

    Imagine that as a protoss, i could make probes non stop, and defend with a couple of cannons, and zealots. HA!

  • Force, you missed something in this strategy video. While he does go 16 hatch/15 pool this game, you'll also see him go 13 hatch/13-14-15 pool in a lot of games. Not as strong economically, but a 13 hatch is very, VERY difficult to block with a pylon or ebay. If you feel greedy, then maybe you could base the hatch timing on map/spawns (for example, close by ground on meta = 13, close by air = 14, and cross = 15).

  • @Ryndika Put the spines next to your mineral line instead of the front of your base. 2 hits from a spine = dead reaper, and in the time it takes your opponent to get the 11 reapers necessary to one-shot a spine crawler, you should be able to tech roaches and get a few (4 will one-shot a reaper, so maybe build 5 for ideal stutter-step micro and because they're fat). T will have to expand and turtle after their fail, so either bust them with your roaches or take your 3rd and tech.

  • On the first push when those drones blocked the ramp the zealots didn't atk anything, if he a-moved the zealots would have demolished those drones in 3 seconds.

  • @dakewlg Two zealots maybe missed out on two attacks, and there were still 4 drones there. Ideally, it would have been two queens blocking that ramp, anyway, as opposed to a bunch of drones, and zealots are punching through that choke never.

  • @XCodes You are absolutely right about the queens, but in this particular game he had 5 zealots spazing out on the ramp where he could have cut those drones to shreds. I also saw a terran smash the ice-fisher build with bunker/reaper harass.

  • @dakewlg The problem with that is that the zealots are melee units. They were spazzing out because they couldn't reach the drones over the other zealots.

    As for any kind of bunker rush, the Zerg really shouldn't have trouble with it regardless of whether it's bunker/marine or bunker/reaper.

  • @MonoCabron123 If the zerg does this right, there's no early-game response to this build as Terran. Marauders are terrible against zerglings and mediocre against queens while marines just get eaten alive by spines with no hope to kill them with proper transfusions. You really need siege tanks to break the zerg defenses, and by that time the zerg is going to be going down some kind of tech path that you'll also have to deal with (ling/bling would be "countered" by bf hellions).

  • I dont care what you say, 1 factory with tech lab and one with a reactor producing 3 helions at a time would DESTROY this build. He would have nothing to get him mining at natural and one fuck up would be GG ^^

  • @xujploxjux Watch MrBittersTV, Spanishiwa explains his response to this, thats the purpose of the queens and spinecrawlers, helions do nothing to both because of their armor, just run the drones to either and let them take care of the rest.

    So your investing all you've got on hellions to stop mining at the natural temporarily? If hes got 2 queens blocking the ramp then you cant get into the main and then spines at the natural+queens will destroy the hellions. I don't see hellions being that good of a counter...

  • @ProtocolGW People tried DT rushing against him before. Didn't work out too well since he's really good at blocking the ramp with queens and getting the spore crawlers up in time. You can't hide anything from this guy.

  • This build is probably hardest against a Terran player going for hellions; building placement is probably the only thing that makes this build still viable against Terran.

  • @ThatOneReallyLameKid He gets fast Infestors to immoblize the ridiculously fast Terran units like Stimmed Marines and Marauders, then uses Infestors and Queens to deal with early pushes. After that, he has Banelings, Corruptors for Anti-air, and Ultras to deal with Mech. Against Hellions, yeah that probably is the worst case scenario from Spanishiwa's point of view, he usually deals with Reactor'd Blue flame Hellions by massing Queens and blocking the ramp to his main.

  • Why zerg players can expand away from toss player = zerg has a more mobile army than toss. If toss attacks his 3rd, spansh can counter attack

  • @TheGreatRakatan i've seen spanishiwa do the ice fisher zvz and barely hold with spines and queen ramp block against relentless ling harass. it worked but spanishiwa's apm was at least double his opponents it looked like it was very tough.

  • @TheGreatRakatan Most of the time he uses this build. He sometimes gets a hatch on 13 against all matchups as well. Spanishiwa relies on late game in all matchups, though he does exploit any weaknesses. He often ends the game with lings, infestors, blings, and queens, with brood lords and or ultras if it gets that far into the game.

  • the reason the drones would be more "effective" vs the queens because of the way the threat works, the units would auto attac kthe queens
