Someone said that the word TEA stood for Taxed Enough Already. So the main focus of this whole movement is taxes? Not Marxist, not Communist, not totalitarianism, or the NWO...but taxes?
I think the whole tea party movement was started by Lipton and Nestea as a response to the surge in bottled water sales. They're just playing politics. I never hear how well those companies are doing since last year. :-)
@MrSuperpunch019 Wow you're ignorant! For the record I'm part Cherokee and not a redneck!! So what about Mexico, you probably don't bitch about Canada and lots of immigrants took that territory from Natives, same in south america, europe, asia, africa, the middle east....you've got to be retarded to be blind to that! Screw Mexico!! Have a nice day dumb fuck!!! LOL =D
WHERE WERE THEY WHEN BUSH WAS SPENDING TAXPAYER MONEY LIKE THERE WAS NO TOMORROW??? THEY DIDN'T COMPLAIN AND DID NOTHING INSTEAD ALL BECAUSE HE HAD AN (R) IN HIS NAME!!! JOIN THE COFFEE PARTY MOVEMENT FOR MORE COOPERATION WITH FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL GOV'TS!!!
@wideshutuk If she's not one of them, why did she speak at the First National Tea Party Convention? Granted she has an agenda of her own, but the Tea Party seems to be embracing her as a member.
I remember how the Left had rallies with signs that said “We Came Unarmed, This Time”. And lefties would show up at places where the President was speaking and stand outside the security parameter with side arms and AR-15’s. Then they started forming armed militias and using rhetoric suggestive of violently overthrowing the government, phrases like: “Second Amendment Solution” and stuff like that.
Oh, wait. That was from the other side of the political spectrum – NEVER MIND.
From American Daughter (Birther site) where they call themselves “Constitutionalists”
[1] We now must call for the immediate resignation of Barry Soetoro (AKA President Barack Hussein Obama) — based on Incompetence, Deceit, Fraud, Corruption, Dishonesty and Violation of the US Constitution.
[2] And a call for a National Petition for new elections to select the next President of the United States of America must be initiated. We can wait no longer for a change of Power and new Government.
Both Items [1] and [2] are protected speech under the 1st Amendment but note item [2] is calling for UnConstitutional action. There is no such mechanism in the Constitution so these so called “Constitutionalists” are calling for the Presidency to be filled by an Extra-Constitutional action. If the sitting President resigns the vacancy is filled by the Vice President in accordance with Twentieth Amendment and thereafter in accordance with 3 U.S.C. Sec 19.
If only they got this angry about the 9/11 attacks. They should have kept Bush's feet to fire and demanded revenge for 9/11 but instead they let him fly his family out of the country and claim he wasn't a priority. Now they are angry at Obama for providing the least among us with aid and for not apologizing to BP like they do. Saudi loving republicans will destroy America.
@source69 This is the only wingnut post I've seen in weeks that even begins to make sense. When will you tards learn that the partisanship you espouse is a load of bull? The right cannot and willnot do anything but continue the status quo, and niether can the left. The more you hunker down and vote free market ideology/de-regulation, the more you can expect American life to continue to decline. You are serfs, thanks to Reaganomics, point blank. It's the corporations stealing us blind, fools.
@TripleC86 There are problems with both parties no doubt. I don't like how bush let both wars drag on. Obama is making headway on cleaning up Bush's mess though it's slower than what I would like. Would you rather Mccain be president now? If he were elected president, we'd probably be in Iran by now.
@TripleC86 and I still maintain it wasn't against taxes. I just had to pay backtaxes yesterday (HRBlock mixup, not me pulling a Tim Geithner) and when I called I said "I live here, I'm happy to pay my taxes". The colonists would have happily paid taxes if they got to vote in Parliament. And it was Parliament who denied them, not George III. The Rev. War is right up there with Lincoln wanting equality and WWII being to save the Jews, or "discovering" America as history inaccuracies
@TripleC86 actually, that's sort of a misprint of history. Even at the end of the 18th century parliament was in virtually complete control of state affairs. We fought against "the tyranny of King George" because it would be hard to convince colonists to fight against the democratically elected officials of the House of Commons. We called them Kingland because it served our purposes, but it was inacurrate
"We don't need the government", says the militia leader. Right, so if someone robs his house he isn't going to call the cops? He suggesting America gets rid of Border checks? He suggesting America gets rid of the US army? They're both run by the government, which he says he doesn't need. Obviously a graduate of the GW BUsh Academy of Clear Thinking.
Racial resentment? This is crap, the problem is the government is corrupt to the core., and the federal reserve is a cartel. This has nothing to do with Obama. Bush was just as corrupt. The people that are angry, aren't violent, they just want the crooks in jail
What this country NEEDS NOW is a Rise of the Independents! We need a revolution, increased protection of the Constitution, American sovereignty, Civil liberties, States Rights, etc...
Kid, what are you talking about? I watch fox news (my dad leaves it on in the kitchen and watches it religiously) and sometimes I find the time to watch MSNBC. I've seen maybe one violent act from the left side, I wouldn't even consider the person who's in question from the left because he was just a stupid racist asshole. Fox news commentators never EVER mentioned the Sarah Palin map deal, Hannity said "just a couple of angry voicemails". Jesus Christ, man.
I love some of the messages the right have, but when so many of them believe nonsense it's hard to care. I'm for decentralization and for removing federal bureaucracies and transparency for the ones we have, but I believe that Obama is better than Bush and is a great example of a well-read American. I appreciate a president with the balls to quote the Quran after 9/11 with all of the hatred of anything muslim/Arab and those that call him a terrorist for it need to go back under a rock.
We could have used some of this "anger" 8 years ago, when Bush was in charge. It is all well and good to talk about government spending, but someone should have told that to Bush.
The "Don't Tread on Me" flag with the snake is appropriate. For almost all of these tea-fartiers are a BUNCH OF SNAKES!!!! They are mad they couldn't steal this election this time.
The tea-hadists call those who disagree with them tyrants and threaten to shoot those who disagree. Freedom of speech only applies when you purely support the ultra-right agenda. PERIOD!

Materials to check out in order to understand the radical rightwing & how the US became this way:
Richard Hofstadter - "The Paranoid Style in American Politics" & "Anti-Intellectualism in American Life".
David Neiwert - "The Eliminationists"
George Lakoff - "Moral Politics"
William Strauss & Neil Howe - "Generations" & "The Fourth Turning"
Strauss & Howe's theory was the basis of documentary "Generation Zero", reviewed by Fox's Hannity & screened at CPAC & National Tea Party Convention.
